Great video Justin. I also live in western Pa and stored my C8 about 5 weeks ago. In addition to your steps, A few tips that I’ve used when storing my previous C5 and now my C8 that may help others during winter storage I add about 3 to 5 lbs of air to tires, then drive up on flat stoppers. I Use Sea Foam in lieu of StaBil. Place a few open boxes of baking soda in interior to absorb moisture. Dryer sheets in trunk and frunk. Place aluminum foil balls in exhaust tips to keep out rodents. I treat all leather with a good leather conditioner, and all other surfaces with 303 detailer. Also use 303 on tires. Hope you find these tips helpful ! Happy New Year to all!
Great video. I'm also in PA (Allentown) and am wintering my C7 Z06 for the first time Loved the advice about the battery tenderr. Needed to my the Vette 2 weeks ago to get my snowmblower out and almost forgot about the tender wires Stabil isbgreat stuff. Cant use enough of it in everything I need a set of those race ramps. Look like a great addition
Great info. Pill bottle with holes in the top and cotton balls soaked in spearmint oil placed in engine compartment keep mice away also. Smells good but not to mice.
Great video! Lots of great tips for those of us up north. Unfortunately I’ve pulled out of the garage with my C7 and the battery charger connected more than I will admit! 🤦🏻♂️ I went through two of them before I put a sign in my car similar to yours! I think because the charge port is in the back. The C8 port is in the front so I see it every time. (Knock on wood) Have a Happy New Year!🎊 🎉
I would like to hear more about the advice from GM concerning only filling the gas tank half way while the car is in storage. Is the gas tank metal or plastic? If metal, the extra air space of a half full tank allows for more moisture and chances of tank rusting. Perhaps you can discuss this on your next live show - Monday night? Drive safe.
I agree, I do everything Justin commented on besides the half tank full, I been for years filling up to the top with gas because of the moisture and I also don’t put no additives in the gas and never had any issues.
real man admits to drivin off with battery tenadah hooked up! Twice! Me too bud same thing. Twice! felt sooo stupid. didnt hurt the ZR1 but thought I was gonna puke! great tips thanks!
Thanks Jason. I did hear about the 1/2 tank full but did not understand. Great to hear why. Aldo, you’re not the only one who pulled out with the battery trickled connected. Since I too am from PA it must be a PA thing. Keep up the good work. Still living the AWE exhaust on our C8 which you recommended.
We're going to talk more about the 1/2 tank thing on our live tomorrow night if you want to join in. I'm happy to help with the AWE exhaust, they are amazing!!
Great advice although I would submit the best thing I did to plan for winter was to move to the south. Of course I understand not everyone can or wants to do so.
I’m in Texas and I do it besides half tank and adding gas stabilizer, adding gas stabilizer to the gas is just adding too much chemicals and impurity to the gas as I was told by a Chevrolet mechanic of 30 plus years of experience 🤷🏻♂️
Hello Justin, great presentation on wintering your car. Great call on gas and fuel stabilizer. May 2024 be a healthy and prosperous year. Happy New Year....
Great tips Justin on how to store away your car and I know being a ZO6 owner it wasn't an easy a decision but if I did own a Corvette I would probably keep on driving until either the first snow fall or the first load of rock salt hits the road then wrap her up for winter.
@HorsePowerObsessed I assume in your neck of the woods they had to salt the roads so far here in the city we haven't seen much of anything yet fortunately.
Seasons greetings Justin to you and your family. This video is right on time, you probably will not remember me, but I met you at Corvettes at Carlisle most recently this year and I was treated with respect and you actually took time to speak with everyone that came to your booth. Thank you and also after our meeting and I purchased some of your accessories namely save the manual I purchased my first Corvette C7 there at Carlisle. I just wanted to thank you and this video is certainly a great help, now I not only know how to store my beauty, but also what to do going forward. Would you tell me where I can purchase the flat stoppers? I wish for you and your family a Blessed and Prosperous New Year.
I appreciate you taking the time to make this comment. I try to meet and greet all of my subscribers because we all share the same passion and because of that we are more alike than most know! I appreciate the support, my friend and look forward to seeing you next year at Carlisle as well! You can get those flat stoppers here: amzn.to/3NO16O1
Hey man , I’ve been watching you for years and received my stingray this week! I have got a hack for you that you can spread for the masses with your followers using the glad press and seal wrap from the grocery store you can cut thin strips and block off your vents while washing your car it’s just tacky enough . It leaves no residue and you can seal off your engine engine bay in seconds without buying the covers or trying to tape off and all that mess you’ve got to try it press and seal game changer please share.
Please record a video the first time you go to start it next spring with that Antigravity battery. I’m curious how it will perform without having a charge this whole time. I have an Antigravity battery in my motorcycle, but I’ve never gone more than a month without riding it, because I live in warm weather Alabama. Because of where I live, I do not need to winterize my 2023 Stingray. 😎
Hi Justin, yes putting my away also this weekend 😥 Question, love that car cover, just sold my C8 Stingray C8-R yellow car cover this past week, it didn’t fit my C8 Z06 with Z07 package, it was too small and I see you also have the big wing and look perfect, what car cover OEM part number is it? Also keep those awesome videos coming 😊
Hi Justin, purchased the cover with part number you gave and picked it up today, went to put it on and it’s like the cover I had, it doesn’t fit, the rear fits perfectly but the front it does not cover the whole front bumper, that’s weird because I see yours fits with the Z07 package like mine, any chance I’m doing something wrong?
@@HorsePowerObsessed yes, I agree, it’s the same, it does not give me the option of pulling it down the front bumper, it’s too short, does it make a difference if you start from the front or rear?
Justin, Do you happen to know the actual part # for your car cover? My Dealer told me that the standard GM C8 cover will not fit the Z06 with high wing.
I agree, as I mentioned with Justin, I had the C8 Stingray C8R car cover and it didn’t fit, I just sold it this past week and purchased the one Justin has

Depends on the length of storage as to whether or not you need it.

What happens when I live in PA and don't have a garage 😢
You would need an outdoor car cover.
@@HorsePowerObsessed Thank you my PA brotha. Just got a couple inches today. Not fun lol.

Ok, I got your info for car cover and thanks for the tips on storing your car.

the brine that the road departments put on the roads is known to rust out starters. Wash your car often in the winter at any good car wash.
Exactly why she’s in storage! That stuff destroys cars!
@@HorsePowerObsessed I store my Corvette every winter. I don’t take it out until the last of the road salt is gone. 2023 Anniversary, my 7th Corvette.
Excellent

Hi , we're did you get your car cover because I have the rfc wing with a two inch riser, do you have a link
This is just a stock cover. It works with the Z07 wing but haven't tested it with the 2" risers yet.
Rats?..the rodents...or the Car salesmen!??😂
BOTH! lol
So this is what the black cross flag car cover looks like. A year later and I still haven’t taken mine out of the bag yet🤣👍🏻
lol yup. This is the black one with red stitching.
Nice video
Thanks!
Justin, Do you happen to know the actual part # for your car cover? My Dealer told me that the standard GM C8 cover will not fit the Z06 with high wing.
GM only makes one cover that fits both the stingray and the Z06 so he's wrong, but this is the part number you need: 84865965
THANK YOU, Justin@@HorsePowerObsessed

I agree, as I mentioned with Justin, I had the C8 Stingray C8R car cover and it didn’t fit, I just sold it this past week and purchased the one Justin has
Justin, what brand of car cover that you use?
The black/red OEM C8 Corvette cover from GM.

JUSTIN...now you have me worried..I stored mine with a full tank, was told to always store car with full gas tank to keep out moisture 😳😳
No worries. The same people said that using Techron fuel system cleaner will help erase any damage done.
What amp did you put in for the battery? 40 amp hours or 60 amp hours?
60.
If you go to get one make sure you use my HPO10 discount code to save around $130
Do you think I will need stabil if I put pure gas.no ethanol ?
If you aren't storing for more than 3 months, no. If you're storing for longer than that then yes.
STILL WAITING...for my 2024 E-RAY...from the MOST UNRELIABLE AUTO PRODUCING COMPANY ON THE PLANET!!
It really is unfortunate how hard these things are to get because they are awesome cars that everyone deserves to experience.
They build them one at a time.
