I had the good fortune and absolute pleasure of hearing El Gato live at the Blue Note and will never forget that experience. His sax could reach right down into your soul. He was and still is in my opinion the greatest Latin jazz musician. Rest in peace Gato. We love you.

He's one of the very few (if not the only one!) who bridges the gap from free jazz ("Complete Communion" with Don Cherry) to smooth jazz (Herb Alpert cooperations). What a trip!? - Thanks for that rare interview !!.

I watched several of "The Pace Report". Outstanding camera work and presentation. The million dollar question is why aren't any of "The Pace Report" in HD. So sad that these professionally made shows aren't in HD.

QEPD GATO BARBIERI lo he escuchado desde mi juventud. Un gran creativo y algo misterioso como persona, es mi opinión. Me gustaría traducción al castellano, para que los argentinos entendamos sus comentarios mejor.

Brian Pace Thanks a lot for posting. You seem very patient with the man and let him talk. Poor cat seems to have a light dementia sadly. Nice that you gave him due respect though. This guy is prolific.
