i still dont understand why subaru went with a 156 hp/hybrid on the japan only STi forester, they need to drop the WRX STi motor in is and call it a day, such a missed opportunity with small suv's being popular these days , plus all the issues the new 2.5 engines they are putting in these cars now, really makes you wana cry

No, you don't change it to an STi turbo; you change it to an IHI VF52.

Have your tunes on this model changed at all since 2009? Would getting it re-tuned in 2018 provide positive results in terms of what you and other tuners have learnt over the 9 year period?

Do your tunes run across both the manual and auto versions of the MY11 XT? They would be slightly different to allow for the different gear ratios, power curve etc? thanks

What happens after 17-18 psi? Do the heads start lifting or is it a turbo efficiency thing?

Pistons say good bye. If you want more boost you need STI or forged pistons.

@@MRTPerformanceAustralia what caused the failure? The pistons aren't any weaker than the sti block. Was there some detonation or maybe a lean cylinder? I'm about to install a vf52 and relevant mods to my 09 and more recent reading shows they work well with a good dyno tuner taking care of it.
