Wrap it up in a roti or a paneer or any of our flat breads and youre good to go. The challenge with Indian fast casual is getting people to try it. Most people here in the US like very tempered flavors.
well actually there are many Indian food that are not well known here but will make amazing fasts food. Like you said something you can carry in your hand. So if these places try to sell that it might work. Example: mendu wada (its a donut shaped but savory snack from south india) , wada pav (indian version of burger also known as bombay berger ), kathi rolls (its a wrap filled with indian kebabs )
Yeah, as a food-on-the-go, it definitely didn't look too promsing. It was too... involving, to quote Joe. But as a delicacy to be savored, I think Indian food earns 5 stars! In my opinion, the best of foods are supposed to be involving in principle, simply that you couldn't bother to divert your senses away from the magnificent dish in front of you. That's how quality food should be, I opine.
Theirs a lot of things similar to indikitch in many major cities, just that most aren't as clean and formal. Still they get lots of business and taste great.
Love the colorful commentary and gags to go a long with a good shout out for a business that certainly deserves it. Hard to run a restaurant among the unforgiving critics and clientele.
Caribbean food is heavily influenced by Indian food and I would like a place where I can get some jerk chicken, rice and peas, fried plantains, goat curry and some roti.
This would me more like a Panda Express, you dont go around carrying Chinese food do you, its really up to the founder of Indikitch to promote and expand his enterprise, and it will succeed, not from competing with Chipotle's or McDonalds.
This talks about the business model, and not the food per se. Let's admit it, Indian is hard to eat on the go. And it's not meant to be fast food. I like my Biryani, why would I bother if someone else can't savor it like I do?
He wasn't saying whether it was better. He was talking about selling points for fast food. Easy to eat, cheap, and fast. 3 criteria. Indikitch misses the mark on "easy to eat." A truly expandable fast food company would meet all 3. Stop playing the ignorant card.
so stereotypical... indian food is more than just your known north indian food. My parents are from South India and their is a huge discrepancy in what we eat. Get yo facts right about what u eat
This is actually pretty cool, i wish they had one of these near me
Dosas are not "kind of like Tacos." What even.

Chipotle is good.....but here in Arizona, it's small time compared to the carne asada places we have

In India, we eat food.. In US, you just fill your stomach !!
I say they should go for it. Indian hasn't caught on in America as much because there aren't many places. If you build it they will come.
I wish this guy actually knew about different Indian cuisines. Some Indian food is totally portable! Two words: Kati rolls.

Indikitch should add the trini-roti to the menu for a complete meal on the go.
Caribbean food is heavily influenced by Indian food and I would like a place where I can get some jerk chicken, rice and peas, fried plantains, goat curry and some roti.

Who is the boy in the picture ?
Was it the man narrating the video ?
yup
comparing Indian food with anything else you eat is ignorant. just because it can be consumed easily does not make food better.
This talks about the business model, and not the food per se. Let's admit it, Indian is hard to eat on the go. And it's not meant to be fast food.

thats literally what they said. It's good but not like chipotle which you can eat on the go
Now, my vision is that, after robots taking our jobs, we'll basically have lot of time in our hands.. who cares about on the go food then?
