check the rota has still got magnetism, check the magneto coils, check the cdi box, check the coil , and coil lead as well as the spark plug cap, first set timing, purchase an owners manual off ebay for 78 rm125, it tells you how to test every thing with a multi meter , i needed a new cdi box bought on ebay, hope that helps

I'm a Yamaha guy wen it comes to smokers (I had a bunch of streeties but now a '79 DT250 -- facebook.com/KingCast/videos/10219127105628105) -- but the RM125s sounded better than their peers for sure. The cornfields were a blur when they took me out on them and I hung on for dear life and the engine just singing its ass off.... Two - up on a damn RM125 OMG....

I didn’t wanna say it looks modern but it dose , I just seen the Kaplan cycles video and man that’s the most beautiful rm125 I’ve ever seen , I have a 1982 Honda xr80 I’m trying to sell or trade for a rm125 , once I get one I’m not letting go , yours sounded way bigger then a 125 haha

@@thelongranger55 yeah those old Rm's are fast with 26.5 hp. the 1978 Rm 125 was the strongest 125 two stroke in 1978 actually.

yea the kx if i remember had a hard chrome bore that flaked on the early bikes, the old rms could be re bored 3 or 4 times
