I don’t know about all that. Both Weller and Gallagher took more inspiration from The Who than they ever did the Small Faces. The Who were actually inspired by the Small Faces but only partially as they were coming up around the same time.
I wouldn't go as far as to say they were 'superior' - different - and both great - (and the Who had Entwistle) - but how bizarre to call a Small Faces doc 'My Generation' - it's like calling a Beatles doc 'Beggars Banquet' or a Springfield doc 'Moby Grape' 😄
