  • Welcome to Camping with Kim - my newish camping channel and my lucky number thirteenth adventure! If you are here for the first time, I don’t talk in my videos and try to use as little music as possible. Please enjoy my laid-back camping!
Join me on my first attempt at hiking “The Crack” at Killarney Provincial Park. I got up super early and drove 4.5 Hours north of Toronto in hopes of making it to the trail head at the crack of dawn (pun intended!) I read that it’s a very difficult hike so I wanted as many daylight hours as I could get just in case. This trail had always been on my hiking list and I was super excited to try it.
When I successfully reached the top of The Crack after a fun climb, I enjoyed a small victory lunch before heading back down before the rain. Although challenging, I felt that this hike wasn’t as gruelling as some others that I have done but I’m glad I was well prepared for it thanks to the trail warnings.
After an amazing hike, I head over to my lakefront campsite. It’s super nice but also super windy this day. As I set up, the wind picked up even more and sent in some heavy rain. All I could do was wait it out because it was just too windy to setup my tent. Luckily things settled down and I quickly tied down my tent to everything in sight. Luckily, I always bring lots and lots of paracord so I didn’t have to let the wind take my tent away.
I enjoyed an exhilarating sounding dinner thanks to high winds followed by a period of calm winds once I finished dinner. Nevertheless, I removed all my tent walls just in case a wind storm decided to sneak in again while I slept in my car.
Luckily, I woke up to a calm but cloudy morning and had a relaxing breakfast by the lake. Being re-energized from a night of sleep, I packed up and explored a bit more of the park before I started my journey home. I made a few stops along the way home as I’m no longer in a rush. The sky opened up as I got to Barrie and gave me a spectacular view of one of their lakefront sculptures called the Spirit Catcher.
Thanks for watching my little adventures and see you again next time!!

Hi Jenny! Yes, it has been quite awhile since I've been able to get outside and then also piece together the video! Thanks for looking out for me. Have you planned any little adventures this year with your CRV? I better plan too before all the good places are booked up :)

Hi Kim, I’m glad that you are camping again. I enjoyed watching you hike up to the top of “the crack”. But I must say that Vietnamese sandwich looked quite tasty. I had before and I loved it. But if I ate that after my hike I would probably have fallen asleep 😂. I’m glad that you are camping again and look forward in watching more of your adventures 🫶🙏
