At least one Midwest station had w call letters. The Omaha Nebraska station was WOW - now there is an added K but I grew up with it as WOW in the 50's. Love WYPR
i've got a few recordings of WJHU from the 80s and a t shirt from that time as well. used to air New Wave music in the early 80s. i ought to find a way to upload those recordings
Thank you so very much, you confirmed so many things for me. After our families drama is calmed down, I’ll contact you and invite you to the Eastern Shore for Lunch with my better half & I. Think you’ll enjoy the historical conversation. #Baltimore #Maryland #History #NationalTreasure
This is a fantastic video, and I want to say thank you both for speaking clearly enough that the closed captioning feature works. I'm going to watch this one a few times because it has excellent information about the history of radio broadcasting in Baltimore. It is one more piece of information that might help me understand the experiences of my various family members.

I used to live in Pittsburgh, they are quick to mention KDKA there
We will be selling some of our family’s belongings, I’ll invite you to take a look. We want good homes for our historical treasures
Interesting!
