I totally agree with you! She's able to sing in an extraordinary way, but at the same time her technical skills don't overpower her ability to communicate the message of the songs. She's able to find a balance between emotion and singing virtuosity, which is a rare ability to find in a singer.

My Heart Will Go On, Purple Rain, Killing Me Softly, Earth Song, I Have Nothing, Reflection, Never Too Much.... They were epic and some of the greatest live songs of all time. Also, Queen/I'm Every Woman on VHI Dear Mama. Amazing.

@@musiqluvr85 she does write her own songs, and most especially her most recent four part album, R.O.S.E., along with her older releases like big white room . it truly comes form her heart and is a rnb/soul masterpiece in my opinion. she's said before that the miseducation of lauryn hill was an album that gave her the sense of telling stories and being raw, and i think she really hit that theme in her album. it's like a reinvention of sorts, and honestly, i've got her songs stuck in my head for forever so i don't know how they're not "timeless". if people aren't going to appreciate her newer releases, at least price tag, masterpiece, and bang bang are "timeless". it really doesn't matter if she's "flopped" or underappreciated, i love her all the same, and i'm proud to be a heartbeat.

I LOVED her first album and played it non-stop, but after that its like she ran out of things to write about and tried to make up for it with vocal technique?
