Glad my heart didn't have so many parts when my surgeon rebuilt it. Crashed my bike and cracked my sternum. A year later I had shortness of breath and night sweats. Went to emergency and my aortic root was about to rupture...blunt force trauma from bike crash probably caused the issue. 7.5 hours in surgery and 13 years later I get to watch Noraly. Life is good.
11 year anniversary of my heart attack one week ago!!! Doing well, happy you are too !!! Taking the multistrada out this afternoon!! Does my heart good !!!😁😁😁😁😁🏍🏍🏍🏍🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺
That was so cool to watch. This guy needs his business name on the wall. That was global advertising and thanks to Noraly's great camera skills, it showed some great professionalism. Like some below, I think Honda is dropping the ball. (Even though, Noraly has stripped Alaska to the frame and rebuilt it.) Our Noraly has 1.5 million dedicated viewers of her every move. Since I found her, about a year, she has solo traveled from the tip of South America to the top of North America on a motorcycle. Then, she put her bike in the shop for a rebuild, rented another bike, and raced in a real Baja Rally race. (including finishing the race injured.) Then, I realized all of that was only the tip of the iceberg. I don't get impressed by much anymore, but Noraly and her travels/adventures, all of it, have kept me looking for her and a new post every time I sign on. It's one of the most impressive things I've ever witnessed. Someone in television is going to figure it out. There are a lot of people doing the same sort of thing on the net, but none are as interesting and compelling to watch as her. Kudos to those mechanics.
The same haters that say you spent too much are also riding race bikes for daily drivers that cost twice as much and need maintenance after each tank of gas! This bike could be just as awesome and thousands less, glad to see you fully diving into this project!
I imagined Alaska smiling by looking at the kind of attention she gets from the mechanics and the care Noraly gives to her . Great. The open heart surgery done to the engine was really great. The Surgeons are experts and fantastic.
During heart surgery the smile has to be put in place by retainer clamps in the corners of the mouth, though. Might be a bit weird, maybe accept a 😵-face for a bit until the smile is real again! 🥳
As a former motorcycle mechanic I especially liked this episode. I remember cracking open up to 3 engines per day and seeing either good maintenance conditions or OMG put in box and tell owner major items need replacing (due to abuse or laziness by owner). You are in good shape with those guys - and any mechanic will refer to the manual! Have fun with all the new goodies! Try to use the best lubricants possible.
🤯🤯🤯It makes sense to all those upgrades that Alaska got. She become as family and earned the sentimental value, plus putting in a hands of a person that loves his job. There is nothing else to add. Let's go Alaska and Noraly !
It’s kind of cool that you and Ari Hemming (Shop Manual) both have Honda rebuild videos, giving the bikes some love after challenging Alaskan adventures. It’s also a reminder how much effort went into the original design and engineering of such “simple” machines. I think you really lucked out, finding Bill’s shop, since he is clearly one of the old school, knowledgeable and conscientious mechanics, and one who wisely has a dog supervising everything that goes on in the shop. I cannot wait to see where the next season of adventure takes us.
As a mechanic, and a fellow Honda duel sport owner (CRF 450RL) i absolutely love this. Hondas are built to withstand neglect and keep running, your maintenance throughout your journey definitely shows! There is nothing i see in this video that makes me think that Alaska was going to give up any time soon. This just shows you how hard you are able to push your bike. Looking forward to see the upgrades, and your next adventure. I have my fingers crossed to see Alaska down under
The only problem that Honda really needs to address is the design of their output shaft to the front sprocket. They've been using that same poor design for decades, and they really should switch to the type of shaft with lots of small splines that fit tighter, instead of just a few large ones that fit loosely to the sprocket.
Yeah, Australia ans NZ would be absolutely awesome. In this relatives I live next door to Noraly here in Europe and you see and learn so much about the country's Noraly visits. I'd love to see and learn about Australia and NZ

I'm surprised a 300 small engine would have taken you so far Noraly without breaking down more than it did, regular oil changes and filter changes work wonders. It was inevitable that the head bearings and frame would eventually succumb to the terrain!!! Testimony to a rock solid engine and a considerate rider, well done!
Yamaha ybr 125 (125cc) with 10 hp easily makes 60000 miles with full throttle 8500 rpm/60 miles in a hour, without engine repair, and this engine does not have even oil filter, so yes, small not always bad))
A lot of comments have been, "why not just buy a new bike?" The point is that all motorcycles are a compromise, they are designed to be all things to all riders. The exception to this are competition machines that are designed for one specific purpose. Even a brand new motorcycle would need upgrades to meet Noraly's specific requirements. So the obvious course of action is to keep the tried and tested parts of "Alaska", and tailor other parts to achieve a motorcycle perfect for the "Itchy Boots" adventures that we know and love.
Alaska is like an old horse; having taken it’s rider through thick and thin, the bond is deep and mutual between the two. If your steed has been loyal and true then you must take care of it with respect and love. Someday you can put it out to pasture but for now enjoy its company one more day Noraly you are the most interesting person on RUclips and the world at this time in adventure history! We love you! This is additional comment; see what religious maintenance does for the life of mechanical parts; Noraly you have shown us that proper maintenance including oil and filter changes ( air filters too) can extend the life of a engine-bravo for the Honda reliability too!
I think Honda should notice this and sponsor Noraly's motorcycle journey to save her money as well as a thorough endorsement of the CRF300 Rally's durability by Noraly herself. Edit: I think an acknowledgment from Honda would be enough.
Yes and Noraly should use her influence and experience to give some tweaks or options to make this honda a real adventure bike. For example, a bigger tank option or a one person saddle and better luggage fasteners (cloer to the center of gravity).
There couldn't be a better advertisement for the CRF than today´s video! The health status of the engine and all intestines is really good in face of what Alaska has been put through!
thank you NORALY, this is another amazing video for me, a retired aviation maintenance Technician, because I get fascinated with all related to engines and mechanical repairs of different machines. Those guys are really specialized in Motorcycle.
Great job on engine maintenance Noraly! Her heart looked remarkable! And what can you say about Honda...nearly indestructible! With all that mileage in sometimes horrid conditions...she looked fantastic. You made a proper choice in bikes...but then I’m Honda loyal after having 8 of them. Alaska is gonna be one happy girl! Thanks for showing us the transformation!
I'm with you Debbie, love my Hondas always have since 2nd grade with my trusty 50, then upgraduated to a 70!! Have 3 wheelers and need to lower a 230 as I be SHORT!! OH but the zoom Zoom!! and have lived on pins n needles with Noralys adventures! Wished I had been lucky to meet her whilst she was in Colorado🥲🤩go Noraly😍!!
I find this segment fascinating from various points of view. The technical expertise is stellar. Your love and engagement in the rebuild process is a wonderful example of a Pirsig moment.
As a previous Honda motorcycle mechanic and Service Manager, I can appreciate all that is happening in this video. Looks like you found yourself some excellent techs to help you out. Can't even count the number of times I have done this to my own bikes (dirt and road).
…. That’s a good one! Noraly is the best at riding, racing, videography, editing, soundtrack production, discovery, geology education, teaching, adventure, and a whole host of other things on RUclips! She always finds and displays the best side of everyone she comes in contact with throughout her travels. She is absolutely the best! Thank you for helping take care of Alaska!
Your bike mechanic skills are amazing and even though I do not own a bike I learned a lot from watching this. I also learned that you have to have long nails to be able to troubleshoot many internal parts.
Dude when you don't try Anything you never getting skilled in Nothing. I make video, s too for almost 15 to 20 years. But when I see an Old movie of mine, I am much beter the last Year. Try and learn... By Experience.. Good luck
Not sure how you’re going to build on your already amazing achievements. Navigating continents and making friends who speak dozens of different languages, all the while bringing with you more than a million followers, is an insurmountable challenge for most, but you did it all with a smile. Amazing!
When you look inside the outer skin of bikes it always amazes me how much stuff is packed inside. It's really great that you found truly skilled moto mech's to revive Alaska for more adventure fun "abuse".
Darren is a fantastic mechanic! So methodical and organized! And knowledgeable and willing to explain what is going on! Great job to he and Bill doing the work on Alaska! Those two will have her upgraded in no time! And the graphics (what we saw of them) look great!
I would definitely do the same, replace worn parts, upgrade certain areas like the additional tank and get her ready for the next journey. After than i would retire her in my living room and put images of her travel all over the tank. She would be too sentimental to get rid off and she would such a great conversation piece
I was going to say basically the same thing. Hondas are some of the best engineered machines on the planet. Their mechanical engineers are very good, especially considering their goal of a profitable, reliable, mass-market product.
The condition of the bike is a testament both to Honda's design and build quality, and your good intuitive sense of how to ride and maintain the bike without pushing components to the point of damage - you have changed fluids and fllters whenever you could, plus of course repairing "survival" items like those fork seals as needed. A lesson for all of us! Looking forward to Alaska's reincarnation and to your next adventure!
As someone who has rebuilt countless motorcycle power plants, kudos to you Norally, for being a very good caretaker of you bike. Goes to show that proper maintenance goes along way towards making sure you do not strand yourself. Great video and thank you guys for going the extra mile for Alaska.
I'm not really a motorcycle guy but I really enjoyed this video and have learned a lot about the motorcycle world in the 100's of Itchy Boots episodes I've watched. With education comes understanding and respect.
I always find it amusing when you go back and show things, Like “Ignore engine light”. Then again. “Ignore engine light” then again. Humor is good for the soul. The amount of work going back into Alaska, wow. Something huge is planned. I’m glad you found a couple good guys in Alaska to rebuild Alaska. Stay safe.
5 liters of extra fuel weighs about 10 pounds ... gonna like the low position of the Camel tank. 👍 New decals, wiring, exhaust, steering & swingarm bearings, piston & rings, valves adjusted, jackshaft spline & sprocket, clutch basket. 👍 Alaska & Noraly, both ready for another 43,000 km! 🙂 Let's GO! 🙂
I love the variety of content on this channel. The social experience + travel is what drew me in first, however, I love the shop talk! It really creates a whole moto-experience!
I don't wash my motorcycle often but it's good to do so before a big tear down like this. It helps prevent foreign materials from enter clean places like wire plugs and such. Plus it makes it much easier to not have to deal with all the grime.
Don't listen to the negative comments! You do you ! ..and build your bike the way you want too and get her ready for the next adventure that we are all looking forward to go on with u !👍👍😍🇨🇦
Noraly, You have earned the respect of (motorcycle) riders from around the world ! You are a rider ! That is something to be proud of. Don’t ever forget that “ it is your life and you are the one that has to live it “. Good Luck ! Happy New Year !
Love the fact that during your downtime between adventures you’ve kept us entertained. First the rally and now the rebuild. Great work as always Noraly.
When Bill said “by the way we don’t know what we’re doing” made me spit out my coffee laughing!😂 Thanks so much Noraly for giving us videos in between seasons. They’ve been amazing! And can’t wait to find out what the next adventure is!
of all the bikes you have taken on your journey , alaska has been the best so far and she connected with a lot of your followers including me. she is a testament of how good and reliable a honda motorcyle can be in the hands of a responsible owner. i ❤️alaska…she is not perfect but she just keep on going and going…and going…🙂
I completely understand your choices. Renew, replace, upgrade... Less waste in a landfill regarding the parts that remain such as motor, frame, wiring, etc... My 07 H-D has 195+K miles on the original drivetrain. Maintenance and knowledgeable techs/parts people are the key... Kudos to you and your approach! Let's go!
So interesting 🤔 As a mechanical illiterate, it’s always humbling and awe-inspiring to watch skilled and knowledgable mechanics do their thing. Thanks so much for filming an sharing this episode! 👍🏼
I am pleased mostly that she didn't hurt herself, more badly, on the rented Gas Gas from the broken bone brothers. These fellas are truly the type of "motorcyclists" she really needed to meet and obviously know their stuff, inside and out. No bull, no inflated stories, no injuries, except the countershaft damage. No doubt that was caused by an improperly installed sprocket along the way, or bad chain tension etc. I am looking forward to seeing the finished upgraded bike. Easily one of the best video installments as of late, that Baja rally series was painful to watch, glad its over, this is far more interesting and applicable to her riding "adventures". Thanks for the entertainment.....
I'm so glad you're showing the rebuild of Alaska and it doesn't just show up looking totally different on the next adventure. I'm sure Honda themselves are keen to see how it's held up as well.
Noraly you couldn’t ask for better men at an independent shop to work on your bike, those two mechanics are the real deal, and I hope their business radically blossoms from this video. Arrow exhaust, camel tank, and new decals. Super great choices. Alaska 2.0 will be ready set go to take you all over the world again. Best of blessings to you and always thank you for representing the motorcycle community.
I think with a new clutch and some bearings your Honda would have easily made it another season. But I think this level of preventative maintenance is to be respected. Much like your travels, it is an example of excellence.
You prove over and over why Honda's are such great machines and practically bulletproof. You push their machines to such limits and they hardly wear or breakdown. If I was the CEO of Honda I would send you a new bike and give you all the support you need on your journey! You're a hell of an ambassador for their brand!
I’m surely not alone in loving this ‘off line” segment of your moto life documentary. We all have to deal with this stuff in order to ride around and do the other stuff, so reality. And you have great tech help there to observe. (plus dog) Thanks!
Alaska is getting very well cared for! I think all the upgrades you have shown us are smart! Mechanics are very skilled and I look forward to the new and improved Alaska!
These guys are professional even if small. The repairs she requires could pay for a new bike. But it would be without the upgrades she wants. And no factory bike will. It is also possible to upgrade reliability too. I understand why she is doing it. However if she goes into the outback for a season, the bike will be toast after. After the second fork seals, you need to polish the tubes. There are many other increased costs. Especially when paying parts and labor. Many of us repair our own. I followed Noraly from the first episode when it came out. I have the same 2018 white himilayan. I bought it after I saw her video. Only got 7000 miles on mine. Mostly short drive to work with a few outings every year. Noraly puts me, and most of her viewers to shame in skill, determination, endurance, and bravery. I know I will never do what she is doing. Yet because I am a biker, have ridden forests, beaches, deserts, cities, highway, etc (in 61, started 17), I am living a whole other life through her eyes. Thank you Noraly.
Thanks for sharing this, Noraly. As a mechanic/engineer, I found it very interesting, and applaud you (and Honda) on the condition of your bike/engine after such a hard ride. I started watching your videos a few weeks ago with the epic S6 ending. Then I went back to the beginning of S2 then S6. I have seen S3 and S4, and am now enjoying S1. I'll hit S5 when that's done. Hopefully by then you will have started your next adventure! All the best!
I don't think it is foolish to spend the money fixing up Alaska, but I do think that Honda would have been very happy to take her off your hands in exchange for a new model. Their factory having the opportunity to tear it down and evaluate is rare. Plus, having millions watching you is great advertising.
You have to read Peter and Kay Forwood, world motorcycle travel,s story to understand the feelings over a motorcycle, it,s on Google and RUclips, worth reading
I know nothing about motorcycles but the guys know there onions I also like the way he's not too proud always checking the manual as for Bill he's forgotten more than most blokes know your Alaska be good as new cheers n beers Marty Australia
1st- congrats on the rally!! 2nd- I’m so glad you are keeping your 300, it is easily my favorite small displacement bike. I have owned 2 Honda 250’s and they are great bikes. Can’t wait for what’s next…💯 🙏🙏
My motto has always been "Better safe than sorry", so I am totally with your choice to tear Alaska down and replace/upgrade all of the necessary parts before attempting your next adventure. And I'll say this again, you are one amazing and awesome Lady.
So glad you have completely competent tech’s wrenching on Alaska. Particularly the young guy continually referencing the manual on a very public platform demonstrates self esteem and comfort being scrutinized by RUclips.. this gives us who know what they are doing confidence you will be relying on a squared away machine… Hope you bought them lunch and took care of them because they certainly were taking care of you and Alaska..
Thank you Noraly for the in-depth look on the technical stuff and internal components of Alaska. Been looking forward to such an episode for a long time :)
Not sure if you see all these messages Norally but as I am one of the first.....so maybe you will! Just want to say I have been folloing you for 4+ years and would like to thank you for keeping us entertained. You even inspired me to get off my backside and ride a little 100cc two-stroke around ireland so thanks for that too. Congrats on the Baja.....ride safe....can't wait to hear what's happening next ! 🤗
@@Washoejim Honda has a reputation for building great engines that last. What makes this case so special is the brutal environment the engine went through and it survived.
Noraly, I just finished an afternoon of watching the movie and the Baha race. I am eighty years old man and I am in awe of you young lady. You bring back memories of my youth. I am going continue following you and my prayers will be with you as long as you follow your dreams.
Wow. I always love watching your travels. Never missed one yet. While I am not mechanically inclined in any way. I found this video absolutely educational and interesting. Can't wait for the next adventure.
In Alaska to see Alaska ! I had noticed the engine was sounding looser after time went by . Being completely customized she can now have a new name ! This was such a great way for you to gain knowledge about your bike which will only make you more confident when riding your next expedition .
@@frankmerkle2500 Lots of unexplored Africa, too. Either way, going below the equator makes it middle of summer. Also, she still hasn't seen Grand Canyon!
I'd bet a lot of the noise you heard was from debris trapped between the case guard and engine cases. Really need to drop that piece of tin before washing.
Wow, your videos never disappoint, Noraly. This is good stuff. So cool to see inside of that wonderful engine when we know what it has been through and how it made your amazing adventure possible. So awesome that the mechanics let you film! Thank you for such prolific postings and keeping us all in the loop of your exciting adventures!
Thank you Noraly for continuing to accept "Comments." I've been saying this right along as I stay faithful to S6. I think I'm going back to the (first)border crossing USA ~ and then from there. She will take care of you the same way you take care of her❤ Glad to see you have recovered from the beating you took in Baja. Best Wishes from Texas! LET'S GO! 💖💖🏍🤠
A KTM mechanic looking at how Honda is doing things and saying: “thats weird”… meaning: “Ahhh that’s how you’re supposed to make that part so it actually will do it’s job”…😂😂😂 Great episode ❤
Amen! But then, they are both top tier rivals, KTM and Honda, both companies are revered for depth of knowledge, history and quality. I think he’s just admiring what he’s finding, and giving respect appropriately.
@@supermotobeard full disclosure: I own 2 1985 original condition Honda GL1200s so I guess I am a sucker for that Honda longevity 😁 Can’t wait for the second episode 🍻🍻
Being present whilst Alaska is being upgraded by professionals is therapeutic. You have better knowledge on how the motor works. First, having an attitude of wanting to travel on a bike alone across many countries. Then you went for training on a dirt bike in the Netherlands. Tried the skills you learnt in two rallies. Now it’s the knowledge of your bike. It is A.S.K. - Attitude, Skills and Knowledge. It is complete for our dear Noraly.
Absolutely love this footage. Those gentlemen definitely know their business. It was wonderful watching them. It’s so great that you were willing to restore Alaska as you did instead of buying a new one.
I think Alaska deserves all the pampering and upgrades after how she’s performed for you 😊…. Love the time lapse film of the work. I thought you might having been thinking of doing the TAT (Trans America Trail) but if you need extra tanks then maybe you’re heading further into the wilds!!
I was hoping for New Zealand and Japan, but I agree with your assessment based on the fuel tank. Or maybe she just added it while she could and will still do New Zealand.

I've not seen one comment "why not just buy a new bike?"
That was fascinating. Thanks for documenting that strip down. Those guys are great.
Alaska is like an old horse; having taken it’s rider through thick and thin, the bond is deep and mutual between the two. If your steed has been loyal and true then you must take care of it with respect and love.
Someday you can put it out to pasture but for now enjoy its company one more day
Noraly you are the most interesting person on RUclips and the world at this time in adventure history!
Honda would not do a free engine rebuilt let alone sponsor a new bike. I know we all love Noraly but Honda has many such big name customers.
Yes and Noraly should use her influence and experience to give some tweaks or options to make this honda a real adventure bike. For example, a bigger tank option or a one person saddle and better luggage fasteners (cloer to the center of gravity).
Once you have a sponsor you have to do what they want, not what you want.
There couldn't be a better advertisement for the CRF than today´s video! The health status of the engine and all intestines is really good in face of what Alaska has been put through!
So Honda should sponsor also my 93 Africa twin with 120.000km
I can't wait to see you hit 500,000 Miles traveled. Love the videos and stay safe
thank you NORALY, this is another amazing video for me, a retired aviation maintenance Technician, because I get fascinated with all related to engines and mechanical repairs of different machines. Those guys are really specialized in Motorcycle.
The world needs more guys like these two. Their knowledge and skill level is very impressive
Zen and all that.
Hoping you have a happy new year and a prosperous 2023 Noraly!
As a previous Honda motorcycle mechanic and Service Manager, I can appreciate all that is happening in this video. Looks like you found yourself some excellent techs to help you out. Can't even count the number of times I have done this to my own bikes (dirt and road).
Crazy how good you are at editing me to not look/sound like a total goofball! Such a great experience and can't wait for the next vid!
Lol!
You’re welcome 😜😅
As much as I have enjoyed your travels and Baja, this video really ranks right up there. It's a testament to your riding skills and care.
What a fantastic video! It’s testament to the amazing engineering that goes into these small incredible engines. I can’t wait to see her rebuilt.👍🏍
Did you notice how clean his electric tool is?
And all around.
This is what a proper workshop should look like.
🙂 Let's GO! 🙂
That Arrow exhaust will probably shave off those 10 pounds that the fuel will take up. Even Steven.
I love the variety of content on this channel. The social experience + travel is what drew me in first, however, I love the shop talk! It really creates a whole moto-experience!
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Five Star mechanics and all round nice guys! Excellent video Noraly ❤
Awsome video, your content are purely 4 motorcycle lovers🥰
I don't wash my motorcycle often but it's good to do so before a big tear down like this. It helps prevent foreign materials from enter clean places like wire plugs and such. Plus it makes it much easier to not have to deal with all the grime.
It's winter in Alaska. My hunch is it's not advised to power wash outside. And I'm sure he doesn't want a garage full of water.
@@trailruntim It is winter now but this was filmed about 3months ago
You're right on there. The bike should have been steam cleaned before they tore it all down.
@@DaBinChe September is pretty much winter in Alaska. They have about 4 months of decent weather up there and the rest is shit.
Ha mechanics don't clean bikes
Don't listen to the negative comments! You do you ! ..and build your bike the way you want too and get her ready for the next adventure that we are all looking forward to go on with u !👍👍😍🇨🇦
Noraly, Thanks to Bill and Darren for getting Alaska into tip top condition. For her next adventure. Love her graphics colours. 🇿🇦🇬🇧
That young guy is a genius when it comes to motorcycles. He takes them apart like they are Legos!!
Noraly, You have earned the respect of (motorcycle) riders from around the world ! You are a rider ! That is something to be proud of. Don’t ever forget that “ it is your life and you are the one that has to live it “. Good Luck ! Happy New Year !
27,000 miles oh my God awesome woman!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👍🏻✌️🤟
….. And are those converse high tops that you’re wearing?
Love the fact that during your downtime between adventures you’ve kept us entertained. First the rally and now the rebuild. Great work as always Noraly.
If money versus practicality then the latter will win every time.
I’ve been riding for 58 years but am no Mechanic. It amazes me to see these guys tear it down to parts then put it back together again - CORRECTLY!
Overhauling Alaska to build “Super Alaska”! Ready for any road that comes her way!!⚡️
When Bill said “by the way we don’t know what we’re doing” made me spit out my coffee laughing!😂
Thanks so much Noraly for giving us videos in between seasons. They’ve been amazing! And can’t wait to find out what the next adventure is!
So glad we are squeezing a few more episodes out of this series😀
ABSOLUTELY. I was preparing myself for a total cold-turkey withdrawal. And NOW I get all these 'icing on the cake' adventures, too THANK YOU, NORALY.
of all the bikes you have taken on your journey , alaska has been the best so far and she connected with a lot of your followers including me. she is a testament of how good and reliable a honda motorcyle can be in the hands of a responsible owner. i ❤️alaska…she is not perfect but she just keep on going and going…and going…🙂
Let's go!
So interesting 🤔
As a mechanical illiterate, it’s always humbling and awe-inspiring to watch skilled and knowledgable mechanics do their thing.
Appreciate it!
Well done! Good motorcycle mechanics are worth their weight in gold.
🇮🇹Here WE are, folks! Gooood Afternoon, Noraly, Internet, sisters and brothers, let’s goooooo, as usual! 🇮🇹
Good morning internet!!

Wow, you’ve got your own F1 team! Great bunch of guys doing the re build, look forward to the finished product.
1st- congrats on the rally!!
2nd- I’m so glad you are keeping your 300, it is easily my favorite small displacement bike. I have owned 2 Honda 250’s and they are great bikes.
Can’t wait for what’s next…💯
🙏🙏
I cant imagine the labor cost with all that work. It should definitely be ready for the next extravaganza.
Excellent way to stimulate that local economy.
As the owner of the same bike, I’m very curious how much this cost.
My motto has always been "Better safe than sorry", so I am totally with your choice to tear Alaska down and replace/upgrade all of the necessary parts before attempting your next adventure. And I'll say this again, you are one amazing and awesome Lady.
Darren’s the man, super knowledgeable and goes above and beyond with professionalism.
awe! Appreciate it!
It's fun to picture future Noraly riding Dakar in Malle Moto class.
So interesting to experience the overhaul of Alaska with you!
Another great episode! Thanks for including us in Alaska's check-up & overhaul. It's all part of the journey.
Loved this video as a Honda CB500X owner. It was cool to have the mechanics explain the process!
Excited about Alaska rebuild. It's a small thing, but nothing feels better than new steering bearings.
Wow.. so much goes into bike rejuvenation.. 👍.. Bill and his colleague are so good at work.. 👌..and What a clinical precision.. 👏👏.. Great job..
Given the distance and brutal conditions you rode the bike through, it's amazing that your Honda held up as well as it did.
Great bike,great rider!
Bob, It's a HONDA, built to last.
@@Washoejim Honda has a reputation for building great engines that last. What makes this case so special is the brutal environment the engine went through and it survived.
Anything Japanese will last.
She's really extremely easy on engines, practically never hits redline, doesn't bang gears, keeps up with service intervals.
Noraly, I just finished an afternoon of watching the movie and the Baha race. I am eighty years old man and I am in awe of you young lady. You bring back memories of my youth. I am going continue following you and my prayers will be with you as long as you follow your dreams.
I am truly amazed at the strength of the frame after all the abuse this bike has been through.
New Name- like Australia?
@@frankmerkle2500 Lots of unexplored Africa, too. Either way, going below the equator makes it middle of summer.
Also, she still hasn't seen Grand Canyon!
I'd bet a lot of the noise you heard was from debris trapped between the case guard and engine cases. Really need to drop that piece of tin before washing.
How about "Moon" or "Mars"! Itchy Boots is ready! 😁
@@frankmerkle2500 I hope so!
Great episode. It goes to show how the combination of a rider with mechanical sympathy and a well built motorcycle can take you to amazing places.
Thank you Noraly for continuing to accept "Comments." I've been saying this right along as I stay faithful to S6. I think I'm going back to the (first)border crossing USA ~ and then from there. And so. Noraly has completely squeezed my screen time. I only "comment" now and then on this journey. As I look at "dream bikes" I have gone from the Himalaya ~I put $250.00 down on one for a day. A KTM mechanic looking at how Honda is doing things and saying: “thats weird”… meaning: “Ahhh that’s how you’re supposed to make that part so it actually will do it’s job”…😂😂😂
Great episode ❤
Amen! But then, they are both top tier rivals, KTM and Honda, both companies are revered for depth of knowledge, history and quality. I think he’s just admiring what he’s finding, and giving respect appropriately.

I finally understand exactly how a motorcycle transmission works!!! Cool cool seeing each part stripped down and explained.
