As an Mechanic from Germany i can tell you he just left his BMW for like 4 Days standing after a quick ride in the rain but drove his Mercedes instead. So Brakediscs start to rust very fast because they are made out of diffrent Metals. So if he would start to drive 2 Miles it should look like new. But i guess this guy doesnt know much about cars.
When he was talking about the paddle shifters, I think that's complete personal preference. When it comes to PC stuff, I love a loud tactile keyboard. Others prefer quiet keyboards. Same goes with paddles. To each their own.
I had a BMW 640 and became increasingly aware at the “quality” of materials used. The leather in particular was terrible. Not just the grade of corse leather but use of faux. The tan colour rubbing off and beginning to show the black beneath. Considering a 6 series is considered a premium model to most cars. Compared to a 2009 Audi TTS. Sure it didn’t have the bells and whistles as it is “just” a sports car in comparison but what it did have. It did it properly. No creaking console/dash plastics, nappy leather not corse plastic dipped leads OR FAUX. I’m not a die hard Mercedes or Audi fan but I do appreciate what they do. The resale of those brands in comparison to BMW are more for a reason. What they do, they do well and not everything in life evolves around what lap time your car can achieve. Especially in a daily.
I wish I were rich enough to have seats that I don't have to crank by hand a notch at a time while putting the handle for the crank back on every third crank. I dunno, I love my car but I hate the seats.

As an Mechanic from Germany i can tell you he just left his BMW for like 4 Days standing after a quick ride in the rain but drove his Mercedes instead. So Brakediscs start to rust very fast because they are made out of diffrent Metals. So if he would start to drive 2 Miles it should look like new. But i guess this guy doesnt know much about cars.

When he was talking about the paddle shifters, I think that's complete personal preference. When it comes to PC stuff, I love a loud tactile keyboard. Others prefer quiet keyboards. Same goes with paddles. To each their own.

I had a BMW 640 and became increasingly aware at the “quality” of materials used. The leather in particular was terrible. Not just the grade of corse leather but use of faux. The tan colour rubbing off and beginning to show the black beneath. Considering a 6 series is considered a premium model to most cars.
Compared to a 2009 Audi TTS. Sure it didn’t have the bells and whistles as it is “just” a sports car in comparison but what it did have. It did it properly. No creaking console/dash plastics, nappy leather not corse plastic dipped leads OR FAUX.
I’m not a die hard Mercedes or Audi fan but I do appreciate what they do. The resale of those brands in comparison to BMW are more for a reason. What they do, they do well and not everything in life evolves around what lap time your car can achieve. Especially in a daily.

Brake rotors get rust on most cars if you don’t drive them for a while, it disappears after using the brakes a few times anyway.
Mercedes-Benz focuses more on comfort and luxury, but BMW focuses more on sports features and driving pleasure, and the reason for the lack of a series of options is this.
