The funny thing is that this is actually a REALLY good ending for a Souls character. Not sad. They don't go insane or turn against you. You remain friends. They're happy with their death.
Poor Seiglind, noone should have to put down their own father like that
The same can’t be said for Blaidd 😢
@@bounw21 or Selen
Millicent and Alexander are the best.
Yup. Most Souls characters' story advancement is degradation. Despite, they are looking for something 'greater'.
"Is it a good talisman?" No. I'm told it is the best.
For her build? 100%
Depends on the build.
This is a good talisman if you often use a weapon skill that deal damage. For other cases it's pretty useless.
But many people use such weapon skills, for example RoB requires it
I've found it's amazing when you're using the Dark Moon Greatsword. Especially if you combine it with similar buffs like the Godfrey Icon and the Magic Shrouding Cracked Tear.
seriously, that thing’s a must have
One of the very best.
"If you don't fight him, he is just your friend. But if you honor his wish and fight, you are a brother."
In this case, sister.
A jar brother you could say.
"Why do we have to kill the best character in the game?"
Because this is a souls game.
Miyazaki killing his best friend in game: God I wish that was me~!
This is the way
and also the story is written by George R.R. FUCKING Martin. yeah shit will be BADDDDDDD for any likable character.
He is the Hardest fight in Elden ring, emotionally.
Idk, Blaidd hits pretty hard. Poor guy was doomed from the start. A pawn of the Two Finger's will. And yet he still helped his lady to deny them and destiny itself. Even though it cost him his sanity.
At least Alexander wanted to go out fighting. Blaidd didn't have a choice in his madness.
@@GuidingOlive So true, i almost cried while fighting him. I never even got to pet him :'c
@@BigBoiCannonactully i don’t think you can pet anything in this game
siff flashbacks...
_“He’ll live on with us forever, I’m never taking his talisman off.”_
Lol, that’s not exactly the sacrifice you think it is, IRyS.
never played the game, what do mean?
@@Wildkakahuette it's one of the best talismans in the game lmao most people won't ever take it off because it kicks ass
@@Wildkakahuette General consensus is that ‘Shard of Alexander’ is one of the best talismans in the game, _especially_ for IRyS if she’s going to continue using Rivers of Blood or other weapons like it with notably powerful weapon skills.
@@Wildkakahuette The item she got gives a 15% damage boost to all weapon skills. On a good build that can mean several thousand more damage for an attack.
@@terrantabula9847 On a less optimised build, it's still worth permanently occupying a slot.
"All vessels are destined to one day break" is still the greatest line in the entire game.
1:45 Bro just casually launched a Shoryuken.
a Shinryuken
a skill that is all his own ((afaik we can't get a similar skill to it))
Shoryureppa
I felt like this when the blacksmith died. He crafted weapons that killed gods and legends for me. He called me Lord for the first and last time, and he helped me become. He stayed faithful till the end. I will always honor him.
All throughout the game, Alexander found himself wanting, always afraid of death.
Only when he finally saw a rival did he get over his fear.
A warrior to the last, a wish fulfilled.
He made it all the way to Faram Azula, there is no pots beyond that point in the game, he is the only jar to make it that far, he did what he set out to do, the only thing left was to die a Hero.
sh*t the only tarnished we can confirm even made it to farum azula is Bernahl other than yourself
Gideon doesnt count cause he sits his ass in the hold for the entire game until he decides to drop the act.
I thought vyke might have made it here but his lore implies him dropping the ball at the forge of the giants.
Considering the state of the world and pretty much everyone who both lives or lived in it, dying in an honorable 1v1 against your bro is a pretty top tier ending.
Rule 1 of Fromsoft games. Never love any character because chances are they will die horribly. Alexander's death was at least honorably by his own terms. Most don't even get that.
Yeah...
So
…what happened to Solaire of Astoria again? ;)
@@malcovich_gamesworm
Oh, don't remember me that. He got possesed by a parasite that he believed was his sun and You are forced to kill him or You join one Covenant and kills the parasite before but then he never find his sun. Either dead or in an eternal quest without reason @@malcovich_games
@@malcovich_games he got corrupted by a slug and so went insane and had to be killed by our hands
she's so cute mannn, *spams IRyS headpat emote*
You could say she found the fight… jarring.
Take my like and go away
Her expectations were definitely shattered.
Goofy ass Reddit reply
His fate was sealed
Go home you're drunk hahhaa
Irys: The only character I cared about in the game!
Boc: (sad Demi-human noises)
i was also wondering if she'd either missed Ranni's questline or just didn't like her or Blaidd
@delphy2478 tbf, it's pretty easy to miss Ranni's quest if you aren't actively exploring or looking for it. At a minimum you need to go through Carian Manor which is very out of the way, then you need to explore Nostella which isn't mandatory for the main quest.
@@TerrestrisVeritaand the way to noxtella isn't even look like the way in.
And the Smith too...
@@jaygei_2641Fuck that other guy though. The weirdo with the puppet fetish.
But this is not the end of the quest.
Next you need to bring his insides to the jar kid.
The child will eat his entrails and inherit Alexander's strength and will. Considering that he is still a child, he will grow even stronger since his vessel will be stronger.
At the same time, the quest line of that guy with whips will go in parallel. But there is also a tragedy there
The Tale of House Hoslow is told in blood...
Fairly certain once anyone gets Shard of Alexander nobody takes it off XD
The greatest honor is to die for a warrior the way he wants
She did what's best for him and he'll be remembered
We witnessed how he march to Radahn with us, fighting with fire giant, bathing in lava like a chad. surviving all the journey like us with that fragile body.
He is a true warrior, but in the end he still find his limitations.
He want a honorable end of his journey. All we can do to our lovely brother is a one good fight.
I legit cried at his death. I had grown very fond of him, and was happy that I could fullfil his wish, but the crushing sadness of losing a friend was too real.
Gotta say killing Blaidd was worse. But yeah, I got emotional after his speech my first playthrough too.
Sadly, all the nice characters die in souls games
All characters die tbh, and always by our hand even
@@Pherim_ nope, not Rya, and the little Jar Warrior
@@Pherim_ oh and the good ending boc too
Not Stockpile Thomas.
No not all seigward daughter have to kill her own dad but did not die the knight of sunlight got a parasite on his head so he still alive after we kill him patch some never die in all souls game
For a Fromsoft plot, this was a really optimistic outcome. He didn't rot into a pile of mud in a forgotten swamp like the Princess of Oolacile, and he didn't get jumped by rib-spider-centipedes in a sewer trying to help, either. He was on his last legs already, if you talk to him and learn about his injuries and damage to his pot. He got to go out how he wanted, as a warrior fighting a friend.
What a G he is/was. Great character, who had a great adventure, who goes out on his own terms and grants you a talisman that works on almost any build.
I miss him.
Alexander exploding into gore when he dies reminds me of that one smiling friends bit.
"Mip going into the light, Mip feeling cold! Mip fading away!" (Screams and melts into goo)
I genuinely felt so bad for Irys. shes such a sweet soul.
I mean, this is the best ending for him, considering what is his final destination... FUCK.
The origin of the jar people is still something of a mystery. It's not expressly said where they come from. They have depictions of the Erdtree on their lids however, which makes me think they were originally a kind of automated corpse delivery system. Dead bodies (usually) can't transport themselves to crypts where they can be reabsorbed into the Erdtree roots. So the jars seek out dead bodies and carry them there.
Somehow, over time, they became something more than their original purpose. Composite beings born of many souls brought together. Giving life and personality to formerly robotic golems.
Shadow of the Erdtree: So I heard you like the jars..
@@plipplop728 Yeah they really explored the darker side of those characters, eh? Jeez lol.
@@trustmeits610pm2 Does that mean the jars in the Lands Between, specifically Alexander also contains the "meat" of the shamans though?
@@plipplop728 The Lands Between jars only use dead people. The shamans mostly went extinct, I think.
One of the few characters who gets to die on his own terms, and win or lose, a piece will be added to the whole. RIP
I don’t think Irys knows that Alexander basically eats dead warriors to become stronger 😅😂
Of course she doesn't, she's a bot who listens to chat her whole playthrough and doesn't think for herself lul she sucks.
Absolute dog 💩 at this game 🤣🤣🤣
He's basically the Onion Knight but instead of withering away he decides to consume you and grow stronger lol
"Is it a good talisman?"
It actually is one of the best talismans
Is Alexander the only npc in all of souls to graciously and happily ask you to fight to the death, and still be optional?
SadRyS is too adorable must PROTECC 🥺💖💖💖💖💖
Being able to die in souls games is a blessing. Good characters die and get out of their literal hell.
My friend and I had the same reaction.
Why must this game punch my balls and crush my heart.
“I don’t want to kill him!”
Me: Get in there and suffer the emotional trauma that all true Souls Warriors must suffer!
Reminds me of the sadness I felt when I reached the end of Lucatiel's questline in DS2. It was devastating.
It is actually a very good talisman if you rely a lot on your weapon art (for example spamming with the Dark Moon Greatsword) and you combine it with similar buffs.
First rule of FromSoft games: Do not get attached to characters, because the majority of them will find a horrible end
Bit of an odd one but "all vessels are destined to one day break" always reminds me of Senketsu from Kill la Kill. It wouldn't be as powerfully sad if we didn't care about him so much.
He died a true warrior, RIP Alex 🫡
God, I felt the same way going into the fight, but I gave Alexander the challenge he wanted. I went with the glass-cannon spellcaster route, though my stats all around were decent up to that point, but that meant I maxed out my spellcasting. He didn't have time to move... And that made it gut-wrentching knowing the power difference between me and him. I honored his last wish, as much as it destroyed me emotionally to do it
a fellow jarnished like the legend himself. :>
First Solair and Siegmeyer, then Lucatiel, then Eileen and now Alexander. Brave warriors of the Souls games it was an honour to fight by your sides
Its alright coz the big homie can live on in the lil homie jar bairn.
I’m not gonna lie because I literally cry when Alexander died in the game. Yeah it’s so sad.😢 rest in peace brother rest in peace
I bought this game 2 weeks ago and finished his quest line yesterday. 😢 he was the best warrior ever. rip alexander.
Same happens to the Onion Knight. They live as who they are and we are there to see their end.
Shard of Alexander in my Slot , Blaidd's Armor as my Outfit , and my Weapon that Strengthen by Iji
They're all part of my Journey .... my fellow comrades
it's nice when a streamer says your name.
We miss you Alexander you were a good friend and a true warrior.
4:41
First Souls game ever? 🤣
Aww IRyS
This is the same gaming company that programmed a dog boss fight in DS1 and went as far as to animate it on deaths door as you fought it. These evil summer benches know what the duck thryre doing
Aw man...
everybody dies in this cruel game
Not Rya :) snek wife lives
She'd have a nightmare with Solaire's quest line
Is surprises me to hear her say that about Alexander cuz I thought for sure that blaidd would be her favorite character
Blaidd belongs to Bao lol
Every souls game is like that. Solaire of Astora in DS1, Lucatiel of Mirrah in DS2 (my favourite NPC), Siegward of Catarina in DS3. They make the best NPC, our only true friend that wants nothing but to help you. And than they make you kill your friend... Exept Siegward, but it doesnt make it less sad
The Jar aside Alexander is an amazing name to call your own child in my honest opinion.
Where the story of one champion ends, another begins. Bringing the innards of Alexander to Jar-Bairn, Alexander's nephew and soul survivor of Jarburg will follow in the footsteps of his uncle to become a Champion who can defend his people to ensure what happen in Jarburg never happens again and Alexander shall live on not only though the Tarnished but now Jar-Bairn as well. God Speed little Jar.
"Let us become one champion" Here Alexender is reffering to the remains of the warriors he carries inside him he is asking those great warriors inside him to lend their strength for a final battle.
luckily his talisman is legit quite good so you really will keep him with you always
Sounds like a nice personal voice pack for me)) lmao
She’s gonna be *pissed* when she finds out about Miquilla…
Wait till she finds out how Pots are made
Always how it goes
Welcome to the SoulsBorne experiance
2:35 it's mean he will take your body and put it inside the jar when you unalive.
Welcome the Dark souls-
Only if you could get him to one hit then let him win 😢😢😢
most of holo members played this game: "Ranni is the best waifu"
Irys: "All i need is Alexander"
Irys got my respect
Alexander Shoyuken 😮
Alexanders story is not over yet. ;-)
So on the off chance anyone is curious...
Alexander is implied to be in Faram Azula because he tried to temper his body with the Flame of the Giants, and sent there because of the taboo with tampering with it. Sources: when you meet him in Mt. Gelmir, he mentions going to a place that has even stronger fire than the lava around there; and he can be summoned to help against the Fire Giant, meaning he is in the area.
Believe in the Alexander who believed in you
dang
Alexander 🤝 Solaire
Alexander, Blaid, and Okina were real homies.
After I had to kill Anri with my two hands after helping her slain Aldrich and killing her best friend because of insanity, I've lost all hope in trying to find a good ending. Two nobodies fighting after the end of the world truly fits the entire souls series as a description. You fight for the sake of killing
The only good ending to the DS series was in DLC "The Ringed City" .
Too bad we don't get that shoryuken as an ashe of war.
Irys: why elden Ring? Why?
kronii:
alexander is a good man and warrior.
ah yes, a classic fromsoft
It reminds me of my comrade Hanbei from sekiro
bruh , wait till she finds out what he is, and what he does x.x
Would have been cool to get hi "shoryuken ash of war"
