In fairness to the Sun Tzu reviewer, s/he was reviewing the translator's commentary and not Sun Tzu's writing itself. S/he wasn't suggesting that you might turn up a book more relevant to the martial arts by switching to a different translation, but that you wouldn't have a book lined with translator's commentary geared towards reading Sun Tzu from a business perspective.
Tim Essex except Sun Tzu's Art of War was never a martial art tome (not in the way that most people use that term)..... Sun Tzu's Art of War pertains to the strategic understanding and application of state tools in the context of fighting wars. At no point (and with no translation) was it meant to teach an individual martial arts unless martial arts includes the various skills and lessons used by commanders in wartime
