- My friend Rusty and I try catching an Indiana Musky during the April 2024 Solar Eclipse. We were riding high on our success from the day before when we boated 2 amazing fish, one of which was a 46.5" tank for the body of water we were on. Skaife, you are THE reason we film and share our experience with others. You are a legend and your statements are true and backed by years of on the water time. We haven't bumped many fish for years, and while I don't think it is always needed, I fully understand your reasoning. My concern for average anglers is they get caught up in numbers and when they can't beat the number they get frustrated. But the science side of it, we totally agree. Well done sir, well done!

I was out fishing the chain in Antioch. Was throwing my new Rusty Custom lure. I had a very small follow. Was a great day to be out fishing. I need a new 5" lemon head.

I fished ne ohio eclipse day and did not move a fish. Water was very high and very dirty. First trip of the season for me
@beamusky2988 I bet that water out there was murked up pretty badly from the storms a few days prior!
I went out around 3pm after the eclipse and did end up catching one fish about two hours later. Had seen another come in on SI but didn’t visually see the fish.

If my dad has a fish hooked or any other person thats new to musky fishing i literally jump into the river netting fish but when im by myself my habits change and i will pop off smaller fish after a water pic. I enjoy both but most of the time im fishing alone.

Dude we were out the day of the eclipse all day it sucked. The windows were freaking perfect all day long it was like major with the eclipse in the middle of it and we caught one fish later in the day and that was the extent of our action
@illmuskyhunter3313 I was so bummed we didn't at least see more fish. Should've been moving all day! Oh well, that's just musky fishing for ya!

Agreed, people need to be less jealous and more kind and supportive. And it would be a valuable new video from your side to explain how to properly measure a fish so you don’t damage it. There are plenty of proper ways to do so

First off, I need to know what kind of boat Rusty is running. That baby looks like to should be running cargo down the Mississippi with that much floor space.
Secondly, excellent points on bumping fish. It’s easy to forget that we all start somewhere in this sport and people deserve the same opportunity to learn as they go. It’s incumbent upon experienced anglers to educate on proper fish handling techniques and the importance of preserving the resource. Thanks for continuing to be a great advocate for the sport.
