Great breakdown Brian. I also make sure we fill up in in International Falls before we cross the border. Have a great trip this week. Looking forward to seeing the highlights
The visa tip is so true. Went from Toronto to Thunder Bay moose hunting one fall and the bank seized my accounts. Thankfully I went into town one day and got it sorted out.
Write wife and children on the list. Very easy to forget on a once in a lifetime fishing trip. Will make the following year after the trip more bearable.
Great advice. Add to your list Motor gas filter Motor water pump kit Trailer bow stop roller Timing belt for 4 stroke motor Spark plugs Yes, I have needed most of those items on my various Canada trips. 😢 Parts from Winnipeg take a week to ship up there. So if you don't bring it, you won't be able to buy it at a local marine dealership as they don't stock a large parts inventory. On a 1 week trip, you're screwed if you don't bring the parts with you.
@thelonesomefisherman7425 All good additions to the list! And yes, even if you can find some of these parts when you arrive at your destination, they'll probably cost an arm and a leg lol
@AnglingAnarchy Thanks. Yeah, we plan and dream all year for our Canadian trips only to have the trips ruined by mechanical failure. Nothing ever breaks down on a trip near home, only on our dream trips does Murphys Law strike.
@AnglingAnarchy I even carry a complete factory wire harness for the trailer lights. It's easier and faster to repair wiring issues by replacing the harness rather than spending hours trying to find a short circuit or a bad ground connection. I use the old harness to fish the new harness through the trailer frame as I pull it out. Saves a lot of time and saves running around shopping for a harness that will match up with your trailer design. I spent my July 4 holiday week, one year, trying to fix trailer lights. Lost a week of fishing time trying to find the problem and then find a "universal" wire harness that would fit my trailer, with many stores closed for the holiday. Sad reality was the problem turned out to be a bad ground on the truck wire harness and not the trailer harness. Keep that in mind when you have electrical problems. It might be your tow vehicle and not the trailer.
I bring and do all the same stuff! Capital One will text you if you made a purchase and you just reply yes. It's nice because I've had others lock my card. On a side note, you videos convinced me to buy a Bubba. What size hooks do you prefer?
A multi meter, wire stripers and the connector kit has saved my butt a few times on the water. A spare trolling motor breaker is also must.
@droptinetackle Absolutely!
Great trip tips, awesome perspective!
@MattVavrochFishing Thanks dude!
I also like to bring an extra boat winch and transom tie downs.
@ZacharySailor Good additions to the list!
Great tips Brian, I would also throw in a grease gun, Sea Foam, and extra wire connectors for the boat trailer.

@edwardsedlak4303 Absolutely! I always fill up the truck, boat, and any extra gas cans in International Falls right before we cross!
@@AnglingAnarchy Great idea. I never thought about bringing extra gas cans as well. Hope your trip to Eagle for the opener was a great one.
Thanks for sharing Brian! Sound advise about the ‘making an extensive list’ part. I also tend to do that
@dirkvannieuwenhove3893 Thank you so much for watching!
Awesome stuff...thank you...and good luck to you guys on the opener! Stick some big ones!

Zip ties to repair any holes in the net
That’s a good problem to have! Means it’s getting used. Haha
Great advice.
Add to your list
Motor gas filter
Motor water pump kit
Trailer bow stop roller
Timing belt for 4 stroke motor
Spark plugs

@kava8902 I'm pretty sure I have 3/0 on the Bubba
What type of jack works better bottle or scissor jack? Thanks!
@Dux4228 I definitely would prefer a bottle jack given that choice
@@AnglingAnarchy is there a better option?
@Dux4228 I prefer the small compact floor jack that I showed briefly in the video
always bring a 5 gallon bucket and some toilet paper
