I just noticed the blockbuster in your background. I remember those days
Nice bit of extra usefulness for old tech
Never disappointed. Great show.Thank you.
I've previously used MiniDLA on a headless Raspberry Pi to serve content to Roku devices. Since the Roku devices include a DLNA capable media player I could stream to any TV without any additional setup. I used this solution for a couple of years and it worked perfectly.
Thanks for all your Plex tips and tricks. You give me a lot of good ideas
Also its worth noting that Plex has had a known issue with DLNA that they haven't fixed for 5 years that causes a memory leak. There are some details about this on the forums which is why they disable it by default now. It works but its buggy and may require rebooting PMS on a daily basis.
ThanksMuch for posting !
Always left DLNA checked but never really knew what it was! Shame your channel is hardly ever recommended to me despite being subscribed for years, sad to see your views per video so low in relation to the subscriber count, RUclips is a cruel beast!
It really frustrates me that subscribing doesn’t mean anything any longer.. :( I do well over the long term with search results so that keeps the lights on around here :)
Your music playlists is EXACTLY what I thought it would be 😂 I love you for it! Gen X / old millennial mainstream “alternative” 🙄music lovers unite! I say alt in quotes because when someone asked us what we listened to that was the answer. No wonder our parents, or anyone with a brain, gave us a weird look when we said that. I think we all just wanted to feel different than the status quo, but in reality we were the status quo ourselves. We had the greatest childhood didn’t we?
We sure did! I am slowly building up a lossless library of my youth.
I just have a Chromecast hooked up to my normal TV and then from my laptop or smartphone navigate Plex either online or app and then cast it. Works great.
I use this for streaming movies to my Quest 2 in the Bigscreen Beyond app.
The Roku media player on the Roku tv"s and devices will also pickup the DLNA plex server and you can watch that way. I found sometimes it is more stable than the plex app.
The DLNA feature works great in my Quest VR Headset. There are no Plex apps for VR
They developed an awesome client that ran on the old Google platform but I don't think they ever ported it over to the Meta platform. It was super cool and had social features too : ruclips.net/video/kF1QaOlk1r0/видео.html
I cannot get this to run in Bigscreen to share with friends
Good one
Cant get this to be seen on the quest 3 vr headset in Bigscreen
My Plex music sounds great on my home theater receiver but it is very buggy. You want your receiver hard wired to your network for best results.
❤
I disabled DLNA due to its using UPnP which was insecure for network security even for home for me.
Can Plex at corporate see what's on your Plex server? Don't want some Plex employee looking at video's of my kids!
Jellyfin can do the same 😪
Tried jellyfin but the application kept locking up then crashing
@@christophervanzetta I’m sad to hear that, can you give a little bit of details regarding your setup? Jellyfin works great for me (I use it as a system package with apt)
I really don't like the use of AI art in your recent thumbnails
bro let him do it, he's a small youtube creator why does it matter
