After learning about Deboer for a bit, of course he’d have no fear in taking the Bama job. That’s something I respected when he went from Indiana to Washington, he had no fear in his transition and had immidiate success. We all know Dan Lanning didn’t take this job because he didn’t want to deal with the pressure of living up to Saban but Deboer literally accepted immediately. No shade towards Lanning because he made the choice 99 percent of us would but Kalen has already said a lot to me by just accepting the job.
As an alumni, I am still in mourning for the proven standard of Saban "joyful murderball". I remember former coaches (MS for one) getting the same reception. I pray that Coach is everything we hope, but time will ultimately tell...

Alabama football is so important to us , as is all football is in the South for many reasons , the fact we are so disrespected by the North and it is something we excel at , our natural Scotch - Irish inclination to fight ( applies mainly to many of our crazy fan base ) , that we have NO PRO sports ( as Bear Bryant kept it ) to speak of , that it is simply ingrained in our culture and brings all of us together ( even our stepchild siblings at Auburn in a dysfunctional family sorta way ) regardless of race , financial , social status and on and on - -- Roll Tide !
I think Coach DeBoer will adjust and be even better that is what he does. He will get the SEC. I just wanted to add Coach Lanning did the right thing staying with Oregon Ducks and his speech will go down in the annals of sports history as one of the greats. If people find offense with this towards Deion and CO team they need some serious evaluation and self analysis.

Hey Matt, yeah its gonna be cold, but we deal with this every year. Till about mid February, the temps can, and often do drop well below 0° F. Dont worry about us, we're built for it. A lot of us northerners dont want to go south in July. I actually like the cold. Not this cold, but I love winter. Wish we would get a bit more snow, and not just the blistering cold though.
We (UW fans) didn't know what to think when Deboer got to Seattle, but taking a moribund 4-8 team to 11-2 his first year and beating Texas sold us in a hurry. The even bigger accomplishment came after the season, when absolutely nobody left early for the draft, which doesn't happen often in this day and age.
I like Deboer as a hire and other coaches seem to respect him. It’s good that the hire was made quickly, so Bama can figure out it’s staffing and incoming/outgoing portal activity. Colorado players are already reaching out 😂
