It really doesn't matter how many times I watch this video as I still feel it deeply as their voices blend so well together. Thanks for capturing such an incredible moment.
A while later, they sang this song in the Hollywood Bowl with the (rest of the) Goat Rodeo crew - Yo-Yo Ma, Stuart Duncan and Edgar Meyer. Both are excellent...I'd lean goatward a skosh.
1st fiddle break was Jerremy Garrett (hard to see) Dobro - Andy Hall, Jesse Cobb mandolin, Andy Falco guitar. Twin fiddle break was Phoebe Hunt and Odessa Jorgensen. That was at Pagosa Springs, CO Labor Day, 2008, Four Corners Late Nite Jam. It was the Punch Bros 1st summer tour, so Gabe was there, but I don't think he is in this clip. Hard to tell, there were about 20 kids on that tiny stage in the Beer Tent at any one time.
No sweat, thanks for stoppping by. More of that up under the Bellville Outfit banner and the duet between Thile and Odessa Jorgensen is about the best thing I ever shot: It has a four person fiddle break with Tristan and Brittany from CS along with Jeremy from the Stringdusters....Old Tom

I was there, and it was soggy and rainy. Changed. My. Life. (The whole set, but this one set the tone.)
Pity those impoverished souls that have never ventured or risked
I've never heard of these players before, but any singers who recognize the greatness of this little-known Dylan song are A+ in my grade book.
can't listen to this without big fat hot tears runnin down mah face. their voices are so very beautifully matched; i wish they'd record together.
Caroline Wright Aoife does sing with Chris on 2 songs on the Goat Rodeo Sessions CD. Check that out as it's quite awesome.
This is quite honestly my favorite video on RUclips. Those harmonies are beyond haunting. Thank you so much for capturing and sharing.
Just found it. AMEN! Sure would like to hear a Hendrix version of this, wouldn't you?
This is so transcendentally and ethereally fine that it shines on a level that is surreal.
this is one of the best videos of these artists I've seen, thanks so much for posting!
Thanks for this one. We left after Crooked Still performed. Too many people in too small a space. Nice to see what we missed. Good job.
I LOVE THE CROOKED PUNCHDUSTERS! haha great pseudonym
LOVE this version! These two have come so far, since this video.
A classic video! What a group assembled there! good work Tom!

Chris and Aoife and a smattering of Stringdusters...all my favorites on one stage. How did this happen?
I love it
Nothin like some late night fun!
Amazing

Good harmony speakers watch each other while singing to know where to come in on phrasings. I think.
Oh my God!...Oh I'm sorry
several
yuppie grass in action
Song begins at 1:03
@richhappybun Then I guess we'll seeya later. Farewell.
That first fiddle solo is surely a freshfaced Gabe Witcher, no?
Luke Bulla.
nobody can tell me they aren't in love
Aoife has google eyes for Chris! Do you think they hooked up later on?
They need to have a baby.
This is really nice song, but it was written by Woody Guthrie not Bob Dylan. Aoife O'Donovan is great!!!
It's by Dylan. Google it.
listen to bob dylans version and you will sober up--
There are a lot better versions than Bob's (And I'm a great fan of Bob's)
