Are MODUCASES Still the BEST STATUE DISPLAY CASES?

- After having $25,000 worth of #moducases for years, I have to question if they are still the best way to display your #statues. See how well the company #moduspace has aged.

Moducases are still the best displaycases out there. But if someone can undercut them and deliver faster they will have a problem.
My thoughts exactly. The biggest problem is the time from order to receipt of the goods. With the lead time being so long, I'm really surprised that nobody else has swooped in on the market; if someone else could come in and offer similar quality/cost on a 6 month turn around, you'd have to think it would eat into Bryan's market quite a lot.
That said, I love my moducases 😄
I would love to comment, but seeing as how it has been 17 months so far and nothing has arrived yet, I can't! Backstory - I bought my first high end statue, the PCS 1/3 scale Venompool, in January 2022. I loved it so much that I immediately bought 8 large custom Moducases. Now, I have 20 statues on IKEA shelves or my floors, 10 more on the way, but NO Moducases. * sigh *
🤣🤣🤣🤣Oh boy, that opening was great, thank you! Plus, the updated symbiote display looks fantastic. I have taken your advice from prior videos about spending a nice amount to ensure my collectibles are displayed well. 💪
I am ordering my first moducase at the end of the month. Really looking forward to it. They really are highly rated in the community from what I have seen and look great!
Moducases look amazing, but as someone who only recently got into collecting again, I went for some IKEA shelves instead, as I have no clue what my collection will be growing into and I'm also not yet living in my forever-home and I'd be bummed out getting a bunch now that I can't put up the day I switch houses.
I think Moducases are amazing to get once you have a good idea of the space you have available and the amount of statues you're looking at (give or take). As shipping times of 18'ish months would be horrible to get 1-2 extra cases because you ran out of space.
Thanks Mr. X. Answered my question from earlier. Can't wait to get mine.
Bro, i burnt out collecting figures and statues, so many times. But i see you still going strong 💪 .. love the way you love this hobby
I love my Moducases. Really took my collection to the next level. And Bryan is awesome. Yeah the wait time sucked, but I won’t hesitate to place another order if I ever need more display cases
I just discovered your channel. Thank you for the info. I'm going to check out your other display videos. Killer collection BTW! 🌋 🌋 🌋
Much appreciated!
Great video, working with Jack from Moduspace…about to get my first unit. Looking at the max plus 45deg corner unit to display around 9 1/4 scale statues (bottom/middle/top of the moducase) and the lifesize Queen Studios venom bust (middle shelf). Happy to hear you have had no issues with weight at the top…hopefully they still do the felt at the top 🤞
Thank you for the review. Like you stated there isn’t much competition. And like you also stated the delivery times are ridiculous. I knew that going in but putting a bunch of money upfront and waiting over a year or more is just bad business. The owner did an interview about a year ago where he promised to do something about the delivery times and he has not. Once you get past that it’s a very nice product that caters to a particular segment in the hobby community.
Nice as always… I agree with you, the free standing shelving or cases are the way to go versus anything built in. Damn; 18 months for cases is insane…
I just started getting my orders, loving them so far. have had a few issues but they are fixing them without question
Man, this is one of my favorite videos that you’ve ever done.
I remember watching the original one as to which display option. One should go with and how many options are out there. I really listen to what you said and agreed at the end of it and went with Moducase. I have 4 rectangular Moducases now. 2 horizontal that stack up on each other and two separate vertical ones.
The assembly is a little challenging, but nothing out of this world. Mind you I got them about six months ago.
What I did for the top was go to Home Depot. I bought a half inch thick piece of plywood.
I then measured and cut to size, having the plywood rest on the outer frame of the display,
I sanded it nice and smooth all around, including and especially I should say the edges. I bought a small quart size of black paint and I painted them.
It is extremely clutch to have the top of the display be some real estate where you can display more statues are
AS LONG AS THEY ARE LARGE ENOUGH TO FIT A COUPLE OF YOUR HUGE CUSTOM STAUES. THEY MUST BE VERY, VERY GOOD. BE SAFE OUT THERE X.👊🏽🍺🥃
I was a little paranoid with my moducases and ordered the reinforcement kits for the 4 cases I have. Its porbably way overkill but its makes me feel better with pieces I have in my cases. Everyone is well over $1000 in value. Shipping time is god awful, but if you know that going into it and are careful deciding where you want your collection in your house then its not a big deal. My advice to anyone would be decide where you want your collection, plan out your moducase wall and place the order all at once. Then forget about it. They'll show up one day, I've waiting 14 months for one and almost forgot I purchased it.
Good video talking about pros and cons. Really good to know
Dang was really excited about getting one of these until I heard that wait time!! I might have to learn to craft my own… might have it sooner!
They definitely are cool and it's great way to keep the dust off the statues. I've gone with the industrial shelving like you've shown for quickness of obtaining it and price
I just got my first Moducases about a week ago. My collection is mostly 1/10 statues, so 3 Sixth Series 110 worked out very nicely for a large portion of my collection. With the figure stands and some other risers I can easily get 3 layers of statues and they don’t look too busy. One case has 1/6 Star Trek figures and I honestly think a second layer would be too cluttered in there. My only gripe about them though, would be the delivery time. I knew it was going to be long, but 18 months for 3 cases, some figure stands and a riser base is nuts.
Moduspace looks amazing mate would love to put my own collection in them at some stage very clean tidy and uniformed look
Thanks for the info. Very helpful.
Love that winged Venom! I good honest video! I personally don’t use them. I use glass display cases from old country stores.
I also have a few custom built-ins.
I like building certain displays and risers all part of the collecting funds.! thanks for sharing!
Building an addition, and with it will be an office/display room for my collection. I haven't decided on the display cases yet, but Moducase has some fantastic looking configurations and options
Love these !! Only have two but still growing
Yoooooo X I hav a few they are nice lil pricey but I did the same with putting the pieces on the top !! That was one of mine questions for brain 👍👍👍
Great video. Great topic.
I'm still waiting on my first high end statue "Valkyrie kratos" but I watched your video on the Supreme ronin statue and i bought that because it looked so incredible. I'm using garage shelving and plexi with magnet tape. I'm still putting everything together for the sides and back. I like the garage shelving because I can always adjust the spacing no problem.
I got myself some cube storage shelves from Menards and stored my vinyls in them. Definitely worth investing in the right case for the right display.
Menards is the BOMB! They don’t have them where I live
I feel similarly about the points you made. To me, it's worth investing in the display to give the statues a good home and to protect them.
I ordered mine May '22 and should finally be getting them in by late August - early Sept so yea that wait time is tough. That being said I'm excited to get them in hand and see how the collection looks with them
We must have been on the same container ship 😅. Excited to get mine in the next few weeks after ordering them last august.
Very Nice. I'm going with Moducase. just the waiting game now. I agree they need taller Max Options. some 1/4 pieces are 34in tall and might have to ask for custom cases for these statues.
Great video. They need to fix their fulfillment time and QC.
I feel like there are less expensive options out for those of us on a budget, but the options available here are definitely unique. Also... would love to with any of those statues, anything to have my wife and kids question my sanity even more. 😂
My family has learned to live with my insanity
Ikea bror+ custom acrylic sheets, black foam board, black vinyl tape and u got your self a solid display case
Soon as we find our forever home I can hopefully display my stuff again, till then I’ll just look at the pretty boxes lol
Moducases seems to be a great way to protect statues. I would want something to pop the statues
I love how Moducases look and think they're a great display investment
Lol damn Mr X that intro
Thanks for this great video. I love Moduspace, although I can't wait for so long to get my shelve for my last order (Kaioken Vegeta & Gokuh from Tsume). Since it's a big diorama, I can't find any alternative option in the market (even on Ikea) 😢
In my opinion moducase is one of best display case . I am waiting for my order to come in. I owned 5 cases and i have 4 more unit coming in.
I have waited close to two year for 7 max plus moducase and i hope its worth the wait. Really agree about the size of the cases even max plus is not enough height. The wait time for shipping is awful, I started collecting about two years ago and I haven't displayed anything because I haven't had any cases to put them in. Also I ordered the cases before I bought a single statue.
Don’t worry they’re worth it 👍🏽
What month did you order it?
I’ve previously thought you had to go this route I’m mainly 1|6 scale collector so the detolf shelves work great for me
I too have a basement full of them and in about another 18 months a bonus room in the basement full to. In that room I will be using their max corner cases as well as other max units. There wait time I is really horrendous. In my case I plan on putting all of my Predator, Alien, and the new third scale Terminator pieces in the bonus room. Plus any other pieces that might fit that look. The problem is I already have most of the Predator pieces and all of the Alien pieces. So they are all in spots that should be occupied by other pieces. Which means I will have rooms with stuff all over the place. Which drives me nuts.
Those are amazing! Ever try to make your own? Seen quite a few videos on custom cases
I don't want to permanently alter my home if I ever move.
The delivery times on these are beyond unreasonable. It is true the customer service has been top notch, but delivery is a bear. Still waiting on a shipment that hit the US shores on June 3rd. Very excited for these but leaves a negative taste when you cant reasonably plan on when they will arrive.
i'm still waiting for mine. been over a year. the wait time is awful
Such awesome cases
Moducases are one of those things I invested in before I bought my other types of shelving. But they’re too expensive, take a long time to ship, and I hate putting things like that together.
I love that blue venom in the background. Venom is my favorite anti-hero
Love the Moducases!!
Those look so cool dude…
The wait times is the biggest negative for me but then again, I sometimes wait over a year for a statue too so i can live with it. Definitely still the best display option for me (for now at least)
100% the best cases in the game. I put over 100lbs on top of mine too. Never breaks
They are pricier than some alternatives like you mentioned such as industrial shelving. However, when you compare them to higher end displays the value is actually quite good. They are classy and clean, and to me they can take a collection display to another level. Max 140 plus all day.
Agreed
don’t get why collectors spend thousands on statues then put them on cheap looking garage shelving 🤷🏽♂️
Hulk. Good vid.
They are on the $$ side, but I think they're one of the best options out there. They need to make some of those exact ones but for pops. No plastic junk 😅
Hey Mr.X how about making a video on the proper way to clean collectibles and can we see some of your industrial shelving.
Seaman and blood
I picked to use Moducases for my one-sixth figures. They look great but they are a pain to put together. The near 18 month wait time sucked too.
the main reason I didn't get Moducases was because I just moved into a new house and needed the shelving quick, but moducase was saying it would be 6-8 months for me to get anything. I still want to eventually upgrade to moducase but that's down the road.
I just finally received my moducase (DF60) after waiting almost a year. I’d like to recommend it but I just can’t due to the waiting time, high price, and because it was very hard to put together.
I think they still look great
Wow I didn't know that it took that long to receive the cases. Is that also the case if you bought them through Specification or do they have them available for delivery sooner? As nice as they look and great to have for displaying collectibles, there are plenty of other choices depending on the size of the collection. If a person is handy and has time to spare, one can be creative and build their own shelving and lighting. It's still up to the individual which way they want to go but it's always good to know that the cases are there if you need them.
I’ve found the wait time is similar no matter what venue you buy them through. Even direct.
The turn around time is really bad, but they do look awesome when it's all said and done
Sup! Those are great cases, but priced too high for my collection. Do you run any air filtration systems to control the dust?
Just portable air purifiers. 2 of them.
I would love to get them for my collection, the price just can't do it
I probably need need to invest in some cases
For super-tall statues with verticals up to 50", the DF130 cases may be a viable option. Depth & Length are only 23" though. One could connect a second case sideways to increase the Length if piece needed it. I think I've seen pictures of the Weta Treebeard fit in one of these cases. GBR!
They do have the Max150 but I feel TOO tall. Wasted space with 56" tall
I ordered 3 Df120 they are perfect cost about 900$ took 10months worth every penny.
I love my moducase!
Beautiful cases but not configurable enough. I love how height adjustable garage shelving is.
Is that the MAX140/Plus right behind you? I want to stack 3 cubes but I’m just trying to figure out if the third cube from the top would be eye level for me because I’m about 6’0. I want to put my favourite statues at the top for my viewing pleasure lol. If it’s a bit low I’ll have to add a riser and a drawer too bring it up a bit.
The one with Venomized Deadpool is a Max plus
Unneeded expense. I used old (free) fish aquariums. That's before I went all digital collectables with several wall mounted screens. No more dusting, way more modern and I got my Man Cave back,,
I'm still working with stuff from Ikea it's ok for know I'm still having really display I would say probably 60% of my collection is still in boxes
If they went with museum/anti-reflective acrylic it would greatly increase the price and most people don’t know how to properly clean it once they inevitably finger print it up.
I would pay it
@@TheXtremeChannelMrX yeah, it would be a nice option as an add on. I’d think they’d stay away because of the hassle. As a framer, most people have no clue how to properly clean AR/M grade glass, and with acrylic they’ll just make it worse then scratch it. Probably be a massive headache for them with as easy as it is to fingerprint it.
They look awesome, but a Lil too expensive for my tastes though
I bought 2 max 140 it they were 1,200 together but when I have a 2k statue it’s worth in the end
I don't have any of this but I would like but it's just lack of space in my house
A must if you have the room or more then 4 statues 😂
I build my own cases and shelves 2 try 2 save money on collectibles I want 2 get some day I think I’m getting better and better at it
Having a display that shows off the statues is more important than the statues themselves in a lot of situations.
I actually went to buy 2 of them, but the wait time for delivery was crazy, over 6 months to receive them.
I own a few and I like them. Customer support is God tier too
They’re cool I feel like most people have moved onto garage shelving though
These are better IMO. Dust management alone
@@TheXtremeChannelMrX I agree unfortunately I can’t fit them in my one bedroom apartment 🥲 so I have those hole garden shelves you have as well lol
Random thoughts: 1) "/Cause you can see my butt crack" Mr. X: Always giving his audience what they want! 2) looking at the guitar, curious about your top 5-or-so autographs (personal choice or price ranking) 3) Another video noted involved you being featured on the news. I wasn't able to find your video in your history. Was it removed??
Nah. I’ve been on the news quite a bit. But it would be pretty hard to find me. Regarding autographs, MJ, MJ, (Michael Jackson and Jordan), Mohammed Ali, The Dark Knight Collage, and Star Wars Collage. Off the top of my head.
What do you do to buy all of these? I’m struggling with my money so bad 😅
I work 80 hours a week.
definitely one of the best options but the price and the shipping time.... 18 months it's too much
Moducases are great displayers for statues and collectibles. It sucks waiting over 3 to 6 months for a case(s) and the expense cost of one or more. Glad I have my muscle display shelves. You’d have to buy some 2-3’ riser items for bottom cases. My 2nd shelf is good to have moducases stacked on.
3-6 months? More like 12. Orders placed last June-august JUST shipped out from Singapore on June 17th
12!!! You lucky bastard you, took me 16 months.
One problem with Moducase is that slow delivery time too
When displayed right, Moducases do look amazing. I just prefer the customization of a garage shelf. You can customize them to look like moducases for less money than what they cost, and you don’t have to wait years to get a garage shelf.
They’re only garage shelves if you have them in the garage
I love moducase but my wife doesn’t, so I have a few plus a load of industrial shelving. I just love seeing my statues so it’s not the biggest issue
Grounds for divorce
I still just don't see the value for the cost and time. Hopefully will continue to improve.
there are no Moducases here in the PH but i think the best one here are MacGlass
I stack Funko pops on a white board on 2 metal brackets....sigh I'll see myself out....
They look so real, they should be moving.
Any moducase that fots p1 jungle hunter 😢
They do custom ones that do
I’ve seen them in statue groups
If you asked Brian for one for that piece he’d build it.
Garage shelves are good enough for most people imo.
Industrial shelving. They aren’t garage unless you put them in your garage.
Holy shit 18 months for a display case to arrive? Wtf
Shoulda dropped a freestyle rap in the intro😎🎤
I did once during a Best Man speech
@@TheXtremeChannelMrX lol guess we found your next upload🎤🤣👍
So many different options
