    I’ve had ModUCases for almost 2 years and they were HANDS DOWN the best collecting decision I’ve ever made... I collect Statue’s and Hot Toys and when I say zero dust gets in, I mean it... on top of that they look UNREAL, I see the same collection everyday I come home from work and smile every single time! Anyone about to purchase these it’s wise to purchase at minimum twice as many cases as you think you need, they take 6+ months to ship so you don’t want to run out of room by the time you get your shipment. I have 10 DF 120’s and only have half that filled up, and just know they are worth EVERY PENNY!

    Appreciate the video. I’m learning that collecting isn’t just a hobby, it’s a lifestyle with long term commitment. It’s tough trying decide between displayability (open air with 360 all around view) and preservation (glass cases with limited view). Either way, it’s a serious investment if you want your statues lasting the longest.

    Presentation is everything. I just can't comprehend why anyone would use those industrial ones. I see a few other collectors on youtube with those too and they all make your incredible statues look underwhelming. Those should be in your garage holding your toolboxes and garden hoses. It's like someone parking a Ferrari in the driveway of their mobile home.

    I've used ikea detolf cases in the past. Never heard about moducases before this video. Really like the look. Looking into it now - I'll tell them 'Mr. X sent me' regardless lol.

    I personally like and go for the “industrial” look. I have various wall clear-coated oak/pine shelvings with flat black heavy duty brackets. I also use metal cabinets and workbenches. It goes with the theme of my collection, Alien and Predator. ModuCases are awesome though, definitely nice-looking...definitely a must if you have various lines of different characters.

    So I'm just starting to get into statue/figure collecting and happened to find moducases; ironically this video popped up in my feed the next morning. It was a great review and I will be going with moducases once I've got a couple of collectibles. I know they are expensive and I know that I am still new to this type of hobby but I know I do not want to buy cheap tables to display what will be my collection.

  • @anthonyrodgers5206

    I mainly use Moducases. I have 2 DF120s, 2 DF130s, 3 Max140s, 1 Max150, 1 Max 70 and 3 custom cases as well as some custom modifications. You can also request risers, wall mounting brackets, additional weight bearing modifications, mirrored backing, and led strips or spotlights. They have also introduced a couple of new lines and recently saw some experimental boxed lighting they are working on. The main drawback, other than price, for Moducases, is their delivery time. I know they are working to improve that but I believe the current average wait time is around 6-8 months to receive your order. With that said, they are easy and great to work with if you have specific needs.

    I use the Besta brown cabinets which holds at least 40 pounds per shelf. I like them because I can adjust the shelves but the downside is they don't make the clear doors for them anymore. They make doors but they have big borders on them now which can impede the sight of the statue pending on how tall your statue is. Also since there are no doors, they get dusty and it shows because the cabinets are dark brown. I periodically dust because of this. Thanks so much for sharing Mr X. 👍🏿

    Howdy, Mr. E-h-h-h-h-h-h-x! I’m going to agree with Benji3008 and say that custom shelves are a great way to go. With so many statues, display options are somewhat limited when it comes to Moducases, but if you can afford to create custom shelves and cases/cabinets, you can literally display your statues in any way your imagination allows. I’ve done customs from Cherry wood, mostly because of the amazing strength of that wood. Costs a lot more than many other woods, and you are limited in the size of boards available, but the better carpenters can make it work. This is especially important as we purchase larger statues. We’re not going to fit a 34” XM Studios Transformers statue into a Moducase, so custom cabinetry is a perfect solution, though you can simply stand larger pieces on top of a Moducase. The beauty of the Moducase is the plexiglass that reduces/eliminates most dusting. Then, we get into the issue of backdrops which, in my opinion, finish a display. Will that backdrop be mirrors, framed posters, mounted comics? Then, of course, there’s lighting. Strip lighting, puck lighting, up lighting, down lighting, etc. Yeah, this ‘simple’ collecting thing starts off simple and becomes a quagmire of decisions. With custom shelving and cabinetry, including moldings, lighting and backdrops, your price can escalate quickly, but you get what you want to fit perfectly into your space. If you’re a Star Wars 1/4 scale collector and you want 4 Stormtroopers fanned out behind Darth Vader, you’re looking at a need for very deep shelving, or you’re looking at a custom arm (from iron.......not wood, unless you’re begging for an accident when that wooden arm snaps) so that Vader can stand out from his protection squad. When you graduate to 1/3 or 1/2 scale pieces, you literally find yourself with another challenge of finding cabinetry that can fit their size AND hold their weight. So, Mr. X is correct in recommending the shelving he uses for larger, heavier items, though they are visually uninspiring. There is probably a way to attach wood moldings to those shelves to give them a custom look to go along with their amazing second-to-none strength. Possibilities are only as endless as your imagination......and bank account! 😊 This video is one of the better “instruction/information” videos, so a huge thanks to Mr. X!

    I much prefer open air/ museum look on the top with cabinets underneath. I've only been collecting for a month but what I came up with is ;
    Purchase a well built 4 drawer dresser/chest. Big lots for instance. I went with the Andover espresso. Its built sturdy and looks nice. I didn't install the drawers nor track rails. Obviously the middle shelf piece is there for balance and a platform to set your 1:6 pieces in. I custom painted that shelf because its beige as well as the support panels that are nailed into the back of the dresser. Get a few L brackets or anything to prevent bowing and to prevent swaying with heavier pieces. I use dimming wireless puck lights that change colors as you please. My plan ultimately was to be able to set a larger p1 piece on the top and one at the bottom eventually. To me, having no glare and seeing a piece 360 degrees is what's important. I use miniature spotlights as well and even painted the lenses on some of them to really add to the mood. Some pieces I prefer natural white light and some I prefer color. As far as enclosed casing, I'm not a big fan because the statue loses somewhat of the aura.

    I’ve been looking at doing garage shelving... the moducases are awesome but idk... feel like it might not show off the sides of the statues as much. Any thoughts on that?

    Do you have any of the moducase max 140's. I'm thinking about getting one of them and later stacking another. I currently only have SS skeletor, and punisher PF, a toy millennium falcon, borderlands sanctuary ship model, and a mass effect cerberus normandy replica on it's way. So wanted your thoughts on the max 140. Hope to have more statues coming. Like new SS symbiote spiderman. Also did you do led strips? And if so if I plan to stack should I do 3 amp?

      Yes. I have quite a few. On my room tour X-Men, Turtles, and the display just behind me on your right is. They're great. I have two stacked on each other for X-men. I get the bright white strips. More light.
