This is the original song. It was written especially for Dawson's Creek intro that's way it's so short. It was replaced last minute with "I don't wanna wait" but some countries still got this one as theme for 1st season.

It's on repeat but that's the best we can do, I don't think they ever made it a full song which is a darn shame! So catchy and upbeat like the show itself!
I always liked this more than the actual DC theme song. I think it represents Dawson and the overall American teen experience much better than the other one

I think the lyrics describe with absolute precision what being a teenager is like, especially the song seems to represent the impulsive craving for life typical of the teen age period, not just the American one, I am saying that as a former teenager from abroad (Italy, Europe)
This was actually the original theme song and replaced it at the last minute with Paula Cole’s song. Jann’s is such a better fit for the show….
@@andie6930 that's what I thought.. wasn't this theme song used for a few episodes of season 1 originally as well? They should've stuck with this one. The other one sounds very concerned about being middle aged, or something

Esta canción es la mejor de todas, dejo marcada mi vida esta serie yo viví en ese tiempo algo parecido al personaje de pacey y me identifique mucho con el. En recuerdo a ello, uno de mis hijos se llama joshua. 😉
increible serie para los que fuimos adolecentes en los 90s y no habrá jamás otra década igual . que bueno que cristalizaste tu experiencia en un hijo .
Jajajaja, yo dejé de ver la serie a mitad de temporada 2, en estas últimas semanas me están pasando cosas y me dio por retomarla un día y me siento que vivo mi propia serie adolescente, tan reflejado con los personajes (sobre todo Pacey) que duele jajaja
Pero fuera de la gracia, me está ayudando a procesar mejor las cosas.

Yo en realidad nací en el 95. Pero recuerdo que la transmitían por allá del 2006 en el canal 4 en México. Esa, "The O.C." y "Smallville" en el 5. Me gustaba mucho pero nunca la pude ver completa.
Hace dos años vi que la pasaban en el 7, pero sólo pasaron hasta la segunda temporada. Me sacó de onda porque ponían este intro y no el otro. Luego la vi en Netflix y comencé a verla desde el principio. Me trajo muchos recuerdos.
Estoy a una temporada de acabarla. Qué buena serie.
Definitivamente Pacey es el mejor personaje. A mí me recordó mucho a mi exnovio, incluso se la recomendé. Hasta el personaje de Joey me hizo pensar en mí, especialmente por la historia de su padre y por cómo se ha esforzado para la escuela, su manera de ser, no sé.
Qué lindo homenaje lo de haberle puesto Joshua a tu hijo.

Cuando era adolescente pasaban la serie pero yo nunca la veia. Ahora ya llegando a los 40 recien he comenzado a verla y me he enganchado. Nostalgia por los 90s y 2000 lo llaman.

@@cesar862000 De hecho esta canción salió en el opening de la primera temporada, ya en las siguientes la sustituyeron con la de Paula Cole " I don't want to wait. Y en la temporada final en el episodio dónde Dawson ya por fin hizo su serie ponen de nuevo esta canción.

Estoy viendo Dawson’s Creek en Netflix, ya que después de ver Friends me quede con la espinita de ver series de los 90’s porque considero que son muy bonitos los mensajes que dejaban en ese entonces. Sobre todo las ambientaciones, no celulares, ni redes sociales, solo jóvenes queriendo cumplir sus sueños y viviendo sus dramas adolescentes. Amo esta serie, voy en la 5ta temporada y mi personaje favorito sin duda es Dawson, pero también amo con locura a Pacey. Quiero acabar ya para saber cómo termina, pero al mismo tiempo no porque se que será una serie más que dejara un vacío en mi. Tengo 19 años y no puedo creer que no viví en esa época tan bella❤️
Life in the '90s was nothing like this. Especially if you're not american. Anyway the characters'life was obviously interesting but I don't think anyone would like that kind of "interesting"drama: dead mother, father in jail or abandoning parents or seeing your friend drowning in a river.

I always thought that this was the theme song, here in Australia we had “i dont want to wait” for season 1 only, “run like mad” was for the rest of the series, i always thought that it was like that everywhere. Lol. 🤷♀️ Side note, for those interested Jann arden recently made an apearance in Wynonna Earp. She sings in it too!
In France we had "Run Like Mad" for season 1 and "I Don't Want To Wait" for the remaining seasons. Although both theme songs are great I prefer Run Like Mad. Great song!

De verdad Dawson's Creek tiene tiene ese algo q t engancha terriblemente, Quizás porque nos lleva de vuelta a una adolescencia anhelada o casi perfecta para los que hemos amado la serie. Sin embargo, la serie va decayendo no porque creo que sea mala, sino porque refleja muy bien los cambios de la vida, la transición de adolescente a joven y de joven a adulto, mostrando que la vida es muchas veces amarga y no color de rosa como lo pintan en el resto de series. Eso nos genera un sinsabor pero cuando lo piensas bien la seria no es q sea mala en las 3 últimas temporadas, te muestra simplemente que así es la vida. Y como como dice la canción de los Pet Shops Boys, Life is much more simple when your young.
Pero le tengo gran cariño a los personajes, como si yo hubiera formado parte del grupo de amigos de Dawson o como si hubiera sido un habitante de Capeside, lugar de ensueño seguramente para muchos aquí.

Ayer mire el ultimo capitulo y quede sorprendida me encanto la serie!! Me hubiera gustado verla en su momento 1998 2003 pero era una niñita de 4 años, cuando comenzó la serie A pesar de que no la conocía hasta hace apenas 3 años por claro vídeo me decidí verla y me enganche viéndola todos las noches hace 10 meses, mucho mas realista que las series actuales creo que nunca pasara de moda por los temas tan universales así veremos a nuevos fans en las próximas décadas de los 2030,40,50 y seguirá conquistando solo hay que vernos a nosotros en 2021 y seguimos hablando de ella lo aseguro, de mi se acordaran.

It's the other way around. Paula Cole's I Don't Wanna Wait is the ORIGINAL theme. It was replaced by Jann Arden's Run Like Mad for DVD/streaming.

Acabei de assistir a série. Apesar de ser destinada ao público adolescente, gostei muito. Aborda a amizade, as transformações geracionais e trata temas importantes com leveza e beleza! O final dela me agradou bastante!!

The only thing that there is a slight difference to how this theme sounds on Episode 1 compared to the majority of the episodes which has more adlibs behind the 'hey hey Ya' and 'Turning Around' vocals on the song that really gives more umph to the song. Listen to the Pilot version of the song and if you listen carefully you can hear the adlibs more in the song which is the better version in my opinion. I hope people know what I am talking about lol. This version is the one that gets used the most but Jann Arden's adlibs in the background is either not there or just really faint.
