Yes I’ve tried to knit for years on and off, my mother has tried to teach me the way she knits. It’s always given me grief and now after watching you the yarn feels so much more comfortable in my hands and the wrap over is working beautifully! Thank you, I can now keep a knitted Christmas stocking tradition going!

I'm just starting to knit and the very first thing I learned is how not to mess the skein! thanks for teaching us how to find from the inside. I'm not messing another ball of yarn. 😅 this is the slowest tutorial and the most helpful for me. I even slowed the video to 0.5x in parts where I really needed to be sure where the working yarn should go, how to loop the yarn on the hand that keeps moving, which way the yarn goes on the 2nd needle. the only thing missing was the part where I had to figure out to tighten the yarn on my right needle. now I only need to focus & check how this first square turns put and how tight I've been working on my yarn and if I need to buy other needles. thank you so much!
I have been crocheting for a year now and have made a few sweaters/cardigans. They are pretty bulky, and definitely have a certain look to them. I want to knit because knit clothing looks so much more sleek and professional. Thanks for making this video!

I'm a little confused on the last set of needles. You just used the short needle and only did several cast ons. If you have a wider work does it just go down on the wire?
Yes that's correct. Think of it like a flexible needle

I have the movement down, but I'm always struggling because it's either too tight to get off the left needle and onto the right needle, or it's so loose that I lose my spot 🤦
Tension does take a while to get the hang of. A lot has to do with how you're wrapping the yarn around your finger. Is it once, twice? Do what works best. Sometimes it flows better if I just wrap it once.
What gauge yarn are you using in this video

I always have an issue with everything slipping off 😅
I just got some needles and they have the end on it like your metal ones. What if you need to do a row way longer than the needle?
Then I suggest using circular needles. They are all I use because I love the flexibility of them.
@@iKNITS what I meant to ask is if you need to do something long and wide, like a blanket, but the needle won't hold a line of stitches that long, what do you do?
@@stephaniedillard9706 you use the circular needles because it’s a longer cord than the straight needles are. And you just knit like you would with straight needles.
@@iKNITS so the cord acts as the length of the needle for the work? I believe that's what's confusing as you only showed doing a few stitches just on the needle of the circular needles.
@@r1verman yes that's right. You can add a lot more stitches on a cable needle versus straight needles if you're making a blanket or something wide.
