Tears For Fears - Shout (Instrumental Cover)

- Shout was originally released in 1984. The main instrument used on this song was the Fairlight CMI sampler. I have a large library of Fairlight CMI samples, so I tried to recreate this classic. Also used was FM8 for the funky bass sound during the solo and the first solo instrument. Trillian was used for the fender bass sound. I did sample the first bar which is the triangle and metal percussion sound from the actual song. Also, the guitar tracks are from karaoke-version website, I just mixed them in with eq, compression, chorus, and a bit of overdrive. Please also check out my Soundcloud account: / juno-dreams
Lyrics:
Shout, shout, let it all out
These are the things I can do without
Come on - I'm talking to you
Come on
In violent times, you shouldn't have to sell your soul
In black and white, they really, really ought to know
Those one-track minds that took you for a working boy
Kiss them goodbye - you shouldn't have to jump for joy
You shouldn't have to jump for joy
Shout, shout, let it all out
These are the things I can do without
Come on - I'm talking to you
Come on
They gave you life, and in return you gave them Hell
As cold as ice - I hope we live to tell the tale
I hope we live to tell the tale
Shout, shout, let it all out
These are the things I can do without
Come on - I'm talking to you
Come on
And when you've taken down your guard
If I could change your mind I'd really like to break your heart
I'd really like to break your heart
Shout, shout, let it all out
These are the things I can do without
Come on - I'm talking to you
Come on
That "Shout" instrumental sounds like something from a Miami Vice scene!
Tears for Fears had it going on back in the 80's. I am black and I love them
Yeah it hit the R&B charts and skyrocketed to the top in the Summer of 1985
"I am black"
It's okay to like tears for fears I guess.... we won't tell anyone
Doesn't matter what color you are. Great music is just great music.
Hi, the samples I used were:
Fairlight CMI IIx bdrum2
Fairlight CMI III snare19
HiHat was sampled from Led Zeppelin's 'When The Levee Breaks'
Bass synth\drone you hear at the start is Fairlight patch 'Legacy Orfhaistra'
Lead flute sound is Fairlight patch 'Sararr', also used at 2:59
Organ - BezOrgan2
Well omg it's fantastic!💙💙💙
You’re not a real producer until you’ve sampled bits of “when the levee breaks”. Well done!
Dude you’re a freegin LEGEND🍻🍻🍻
It's sound amazing. The best instrumental Shout cover i've heard.
still better imho Narfsounds "Shout Tears For Fears Nord Stage 4 Cover Sounds Demo and Walkthrough"
memories of every car ride as a kid in the 90s
That didnt come out in the 90s..it was Summer 1985
They still play this on the radio today, maybe this guy remembers listening to it on the radio a bunch in the 90's. He wasn't saying "man, this song from the 90's was great".
This is from the 80s
Oh man yes. Tears for fears, Baltimora's Tarzan boy, Eye of the Tiger, .....
Awesome work - was a teenager in the 80's - this is absolutely spot on ! Great job.
Just wanted to give props for an awesome instrumental of my favorite song
I was born in 1994, but I wish I was born 10 years earlier so I could enjoy this music.

listening to this 2024 fook yeah nice work buddy and that organ at 2:48 sounds fully sick and deep!
wow. perfect creation of original work
Your covers are so freaking good
You can tell the age of this person based off the DAW, the look of Windows, the song being covered, the synths he has, and the age of this video.
I think they're using Windows 7 but they're just using the old theme because it takes up less resources.
The synths sound so good-
Also, great work! It sounds almost like the original! Very pleasant to listen to. :)
Yes, it is actually an old FM7 bass preset I downloaded somewhere on the internet. Preset 21, 'Bass Flang'. It's eq'd, compressed, chorus and a slap delay effect for ambience.
Absolutely great !!!!!
Sounds great.

Brilliant! I am working on my own version at the moment using the Fairlight CMI app for the iPad with my Roland Jupiter 50, Akai S5000 sampler and my poor guitar playing. I will post it when it's done. I really like what you've done.

Was the F8 bass a preset?
If not, could you share how you created it?
Thanks for sharing your talents and knowledge.
Awesome , you use Bitley Fairlight sounds for Kontakt ??
I've got a fever, and the only prescription is MORE COWBELL!
I recignize this as shout
Sounds like a SNES game.
+FalchionOfEternity Gaming “Sparkster” It sounds so similar to Donkey Kong Country
Juan Carlos
My thoughts exactly. Just like Stickerbush Symphony.
Nice to meet you, amigo.
And there he goes....
Never to be seen again. Dammit.
O__O
@@somedude5644 he's not coming back
And actually I found a little mistake (sorry man, had to add this one "bad" comment) in Sararr2 track - actually it should be different with main sararr, but you're just repeating it. Listen closely to original and you will find that in second track notes should be higher and lower at times. ruclips.net/video/Ye7FKc1JQe4/видео.html here at 50 and 56 second and 1:07
where can I get the Fairlight samples ? This sounded perfect !
Hey are you still active ? I was wondering you can make a version of this with just that triangle instrument sound and maybe the drums only ? It would help immensely
I thought the drums hit harder in the original but pretty good rendition!
Hi your collection is from Kontack?
thanks@@
