Jay I appreciate you taking the time to do this follow up after your first video that initially brought this unfortunate situation to the public’s eye. As a small business I’m sure you don’t have a complaint department or a staff of lawyers to handle public relations matters. I’m sure the two businesses involved most certainly do have the well paid staff and resources to respond to your obviously valid concerns. Until you feel confident that their responses are sincere and trustworthy, don’t agree to anything until you can determine if it’s legitimate. I’m not saying they can’t be trusted, but big business in general has a reputation for using less than honorable tactics to make problems go away. If you haven’t already done so, you might want to consider having your original designs registered at the United States Patent Office along with having the legal copyright to the Broader Performance name brand. That should put the law on your side to protect your legal rights if a matter like this ends up in court. Stay strong and remain diligent my friend. Don’t become another victim of the system. This is the power of the internet. Every component I buy goes through a search on the internet. Occasionally I come across issues like this and rely on the producers or customers to post. Cheap thieves like those that stole your design get exposed. And forces resellers like Summit to be accountable. Good for you for bringing this to light.
Problem is Internet also caused this. Back when you bought parts from local speed shops, huge geographical areas purchased from the same shop and when a part was crap, the shop would hear about it from all their customers and would subsequently stop selling the part to avoid problems. They may even stop selling the whole brand. That would pull the part/brand away from a whole large chunk of customers who shopped there , and with the exception of maybe a few catalogues, people in that area would no longer have easy access to that part. Companies would not want to lose large chunks of business like that , and they’d be forced to make things right or lose large chunks of sales from these local shops. Now with the Internet, a million online shops can be selling a junk part. 500,000 can get customers complaining to them that it’s junk but there will still be another 500,000 selling it to anyone who googles it. The company manufacturing it doesn’t give a f anymore because there will always be suckers who’ll buy it from one of the companies left selling it.

Thank you for the follow up brother! Unfortunately Summit with their size and scale can only do so much. However, how they handle fraud when they find out about is key to this entire thing. Great video Jay, I really like your approach and dialog, the world does have a great deal of problems and they all stem form greed and encroachment on others. People, myself included need to become more of the solution rather than part of the problem. We must choose the side of dialog and solution rather than denial and coverup.
Godspeed. It's up to all of us as consumers to help keep distributors aware and shell vendors like Speedmaster out of business. We have to work hard to keep our US IP in the US, and American manufacturing alive.
I worked in the automotive aftermarket on the supplier side for 11 years and I've been in automotive 35+ years. The problem you have is that a lot of these companies don't have product people with the knowledge as they did in the past. You'd buy something from someone, call their tech line and get a real person---likely someone that actually used the product on their own car and had been at that company for years. An an example, I once found a Sears engine analyzer in the trash. It was missing a few pieces. I called Actron who made it for Sears and I got an "old school" guy and he knew exactly what I needed. He even sent the blue prints for that machine so that a friend of mine could calibrate it on a calibrated power supply. Years later Bosch bought them and got "old company amnesia" and said, "We no longer support old product supplied by Actron and no longer have old documentation". Sigh...... The company I worked for decided to have brake rotors and drums made overseas. They sent OEM and USA made aftermarket to China to have them duplicated. What they got back was a disaster. Half of them had too many holes drilled and they weren't even in the right places. Some of the parts weren't even truly round. LOL. The theory? "Well even if 30% of the product is defective, we're still ahead of the game and making money". Sigh..................
Don't be forgiving to companies who do these shady practices. You should file your own lawsuit for free. It's so easy to do and your disposition (story of what happened) is so straight forward and obvious that they would have no choice but to settle out of court. You deserve at least $10,000 for foul play like this and these guys need to be taught a lesson. If you don't put them in hot water how will they ever learn. This is theft of intellectual property and your brand. So bad. Pisses me off.
@@andyf424 The system is designed so that we can start the process without a lawyer. Step one is to email them and ask for your desired compensation while explaining that you will follow through with litigation if they don't give you what you deserve. This is just a simple email. Anyone can do that! A lawyer would charge too much for such a small case. It wouldn't be worth it. Only if they don't settle out of court you would need to sue which is also just one sheet of paper with some simple details. Then you just need to write your story of what happened. All very easy!
A great way to combat these issues is with the parts distributors. If someone wants to buy stolen intellectual property, make them buy it directly from the overseas manufacturer. Jay, I have been meaning to contact you about which transfer case goes with which length output shaft in my C6.
Easy to tell how thankful and humbled you are in this video. Well deserved appreciation! Glad Summit is doing something about it and that you have gotten support. We definitely need more companies that innovate and make something themselves instead of just copying or adding to an existing pile, especially with lower quality.

Glad you brought this up but Summit isnt the only one carrying these, Jegs and a few others. Just don't confuse private labeled parts with knock offs/ counterfeit. Give us a shout some time and catch up. Glad to see some of the posts and vids concerning something being done about all the ripped off products. Look forward to hearing from you.
HI Jeremy, thanks for reaching out. Ill be in touch.
Your products are amazing!! Summit has been selling garbage for years . They are part of the problem..
Thanks for taking the time to provide us with this update. We hope this goes well for you!
Thanks for calling out the cut throat thieves, and GOD bless from old New Orleans 😇
Appreciate you taking the time to put this out there and follow up on it. As I have said a few times, appreciate what you do and glad to get my parts from THE ORIGINAL man himself!
We appreciate your business and support
The word 'Shanghai' on the Speedmaster box says it all. Great to see the car world come around to support you.
Bump for American pride 🇺🇸
It's not a negative vid brother. People want the TRUTH at this point. We The People need these videos!
Thank you for your support.
Let’s help this entrepreneur by liking and subscribing to his channel! We’re all behind you my friend. 🙏 god bless you
I see a good man who takes pride in what he invented. All my blessings sir. This will benefit you in the end I believe. Thanks for sharing, subscribed.
Summit responded to someone on twitter and said they have cut ties with speedmaster and won't be carrying their products.
Here to show you support. Man, if you made 4l80e parts I’d be sending you money. Keep up the good work, stay proud.
I will defer to your experience to decide if I should give Summit Racing anymore of mine and my customers hard earned $$$.
And here I thought Summit sold genuine parts......forget about buying from Summi, I'll start buying from manufacturers directly.
Some manufacturers won't sell to the public. Brodix won't sell to the public. many others won't either.
Thank You j\Jay ....the world needs more of you Sir!!
Thank you for the follow up brother! Unfortunately Summit with their size and scale can only do so much. However, how they handle fraud when they find out about is key to this entire thing. They are the middle men in a lot of cases and have parts drop shipped. I have no doubt you know that. So saying it would be difficult to put a more scrutiny on your suppliers would be the understatement of the century. Hopefully they will engage this with full force and devise the best system they can to avoid these problems. Speedmaster? Well thats a different story all together. They are ground zero with the product in THEIR box!!! All the best! You deserve all the support you’re getting and will get!
@2:49 NAH, DON'T BE CAREFUL ABOUT WHAT YOU SAY, JUST BE HONEST & ACCURATE LIKE YOUR LAST VIDEO. I DIDN'T KNOW YOUR CHANNEL EXISTED TIL THIS MORNING. THANK YOU FOR ALL THAT YOU'RE DOING TO MAKE THIS COUNTRY A BETTER PLACE. GOD BLESS.😎👍🏿💯⚖️🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲
Theft is about more than the Production of pieces and part the years of Research and Development is the most valuable part of the Equation you’re absolutely correct in your view,!!’

There’s gotta be a lawyer or two that has seen this.
Go watch the last video and review the comments, Summit did respond so...
@@shadowopsairman1583 Oh. I didn't know that. But there 100% needs to be legal action for this kind of thing.
LAWYERS BOUGHT BY CORPORATIONS @@andyf424
I’m happy about all the support shown towards a small business, keep up the good work
A great way to combat these issues is with the parts distributors. If someone wants to buy stolen intellectual property, make them buy it directly from the overseas manufacturer.
Jay, I have been meaning to contact you about which transfer case goes with which length output shaft in my C6.
I see you're in Texas. Contact Ken Paxton at the Attorney General's office.
Easy to tell how thankful and humbled you are in this video. Well deserved appreciation! Glad Summit is doing something about it and that you have gotten support. We definitely need more companies that innovate and make something themselves instead of just copying or adding to an existing pile, especially with lower quality.
Thank you for your support.
There's lessons for everyone here. Let's support guys like this directly as much as possible.
Big Facts! 🇺🇸
F' speedmaster, I wouldn't buy a single part with that name on it..
Thanx to You Sir!$
Hell yeah Brother!! You deserve to be at the top like the rest of the best! You're making lemonade out of the "Lemon" Speedmaster shat out and Summit somehow came to distribute.
In the end, take this shit sandwhich and run with it! You've got our attention Brother. Better yourself/company, expand your lineup, and you're gonna expand and pop off quicker than you already are. 😉 ❤️ Much love and wish you the best and big success.
Glad you brought this up but Summit isnt the only one carrying these, Jegs and a few others. Just don't confuse private labeled parts with knock offs/ counterfeit. Alot of distributor branded parts are private label holley or whomever. If it says china on it alot of times thats where the manufacturer has it made and you just dont realize thats where its made. Speedmaster needs to go.
Jegs dropped the Speedmaster line following Summit
Thanks for the update.
Im here to support you, Mr. Jay. Your a Great American and you need Pour Support. 👍🙏❤
9:40 talk with Summit and get Summit to open alot of those boxes and document how many have YOUR name on them, if its more than the 1 you currently have, i think you AND summit have grounds for a lawsuit
they stated in their response that they dropped speedmaster and have also opened more packages and found more like this one, and are not returning the product to anyone, but are destroying it so they dont end up on the market somehow some way.
@@yeahhoofbitethat's very interesting that they're "destroying" evidence. They could also number fudge now too and no one knows any better. I hope this is actually illegal what Speedmaster has done bc that makes Summits act directly illegal as well
Summit has done this and I will talk about that in the next video. Jegs as well.
I hope you get justice.
Your fighting the good fight man!
Uncle Tony has turned me onto this channel. Love the videos watched so far ! ( I'm a Ford Guy too. Many c4's and ole cruise-o-matics under my belt ) I'll be a loyal watcher. Thank you for doing what you do.
Thank you for your support.
It's not negative, you are shedding the light of truth on a very problematic issue. Thank you for speaking up.
I'm glad I received this suggestion in my feed! I have bought their products before, bc of their marketing ploys! I bit into their ploys w/o checking otherwise. Now that I've been better informed I will NOT consider any of their products. Thank You for exposing the real them! Good Luck!
Thanks for the update
Thank You 4 giving us an update on this issue. Hopefully you have opened some eyes where it matters. Thanks
I hope Summit Racing does a COMPLETE inventory of ALL the parts they sell and weed out the posers.
Subscribed to your channel and all notifications, Jay.
Thank you for offering your reasonable and balanced response to this issue. I certainly believe this is a much larger problem that needs scrutiny across the board. I support honest business practices.
They did a copy of the Parker Funnelweb manifold.
They even used the Funnelweb name and put his signature on them in the early versions.
Jay, Sorry to hear about your experience with this! It's a scenario that we all fear as manufacturers and product creators. Please let us know if we can help in any way. Hopefully you have brought attention to this crisis and things will start to improve from here on. Thank you for bringing more visibility to this insidious crime!
Thank you for your support and great American products.
Stand strong brother!!
I'm watching this update video right after watching the original video exposing this craziness!! I'm glad your getting the response you deserve. Hopefully this will work out financially in your favor eventually!!
Probably not but we appreciate your support.
Support small business! Real engineers and machinist are the heart of this industry! Screw these big time fraud companies. And the distribution companies that sell them!
I am a Ford Racer and glad to see you address this as a little guy who does not keep up with all of the ins and outs of suppliers I can see where it is easy to get taken to the cleaners by a knockoff. Thanks for bringing this to the front.
Keep up the fight, we’re behind you!
thank you for your knowledge and wisdom.. best of luck with your great ideas and products.
Vinny Bobbarino and HoShack from SpeedBastard.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣💯
Honesty, integrity and transparency. America, and the world, need a LOT more like you sir. Thank you for sharing, and I hope all parties involved do the right thing, and show others who are currently stealing that the time has come to own up and get in the right.
Iv never been wrong before..lol..but you sound like a honest dude.
This is why you've received such positive feedback.
Hope you get this straight.
Blockchain procurement, guarantee product authenticity! 🤓
Keep it up man, good on you for calling it as it is. 🇺🇸
Thanks for the update!
Definitely a problem with the counterfeit parts!
Speedmaster have removed YOUR valve body from their catalogue. Well, the photo has been remastered with their name. And is currently out of stock. Well done Broader Performance. 👍
It's not their product, it's a cheap Chinese knockoff. So if they want to sell their sh*t with their name on it, let them. I'm glad that Mr Broader brought it to our attention. How many scam products have been stolen from reputable manufacturers.
I hope there’s a good lawyer out there that would help you go after these companies
Thanks for the update, knew speedcrapper item's were crap from reviews over the years.
I'm all about this, Happy to shout along side on this topic.
One more comment for Jay, this needs to be seen by all
I got one of your C6 vbs about 3 years ago. It's a fantastic product and you're a fantastic business owner. Helpful, to the point and value both of our time. Even if that wasn't the case, you'd have my support. Just a messed up situation all around. Subscribed, and will share this with everyone I know. Let's help this man get traction!
We appreciate your business and your support.
Back for the update!
I think you should go after them! Thanks for keeping us in the loop! If you ever start making GM parts I'd buy from you in a heartbeat! I have a KIA Sorento SUV with a 6.0L LS swap (Ly6) with a 6L90e trans!
There needs to be more protection for the small guys. The truth of who benefits most from our laws and governments is rage inducing. Hint: it's not the average tax paying folk.
You being the face to this would be awesome to put a voice out there and bring more attention to this. I hate seeing knock offs and companies hard work being ripped off. Another good example is Level7 performance products being ripped off by PLM (private label manufacturing).
I don't own gas powered Ford and most likely never will , but I still watched the entire video . Another RUclips channel , Uncle Tonys Garage , did a piece on your situation and I looked you up . Asian companies have been doing this for years and years . They cant do it alone , Summit and the others knew exactly what they were doing and who they were partnered with .
Hi Jay. Long time no see. News got big enough to pop up in my feed when I was watching aluminum casting for parts. Good on you for standing up. Sorry it happened to you.
Blaine from voke?? Email my business. I'd like to catch up.
Starting to wonder if all the ARP fasteners I bought from SUMMIT is actually ARP and NOT CNINA MADE? NOW. Thank you >>>>>>
Right? Calls into question their integrity.
I liked the name so much I bought a Broader C4, and It impressed me so much I bought a second one.
We appreciate that. Thank you
