Will Smith wanted to be in the movie but he was too busy so he asked them not to recast cause he will be back for the 3rd movie. Idris Elba was initially hired as Deadshot but they changed his character to Bloodsport which is why there are similarities.
John Cena is Peacemaker and they are making the TV show right now.
The surprise of Starro isn't the Starro reveal but who's voicing him (its not taika watiti).
This isn't reboot but a loose sequel as Viola Davis reprises her role as Waller, same with RObbie, Jai and Kinneman.
Hoping that Deadshot come back in TSS 3 🤞🏼
It's a soft reboot. A hard reboot would be starting over, a soft reboot is a continuation, but with some changes. Kind of like retconning in comics.

i think the rain scene, where they’re all walking, is the team that survived everything, and those people are shark, ratcatcher, flag, blood sport, harley, thinker, polka dot man, peacemaker, and someone else

The individual character posters for this movie ALL show Peter Capaldi’s Thinker surrounded by Starros, so they probably ARE connected as being the villains.
If they left Starro as a secret you basically would have to watch the very first screenings of the movie to get it as a surprise. Otherwise unless you're full media blackout it's gonna get spoiled quick.
Yea... before this video. All I saw was just a still of King Shark getting hit by that arm. I immediately knew it was Starro. So, I thought I might as well watch the trailer now.
Just noticed something, rick flag said weasel had "killed 27 children" that's the same number that goofy was said to have killed in the goofy trial video.

One thing i just noticed in the trailer- when they show the generals standing in front of the Starro container- you can see the Thinker standing behind them. So, what i'm thinking is that the Suicide Squad, will get a hold of the Thinker, take him hostage and force him to work with them.

The trailer leaked online a couple hours before the official dropped so I think it forced them to push this out asap.
nah it was planned marketing. Gunn and the cast were (in a cringe/forced manner mind you) joking about leaking the trailer
Also, discussing the movie title difference between "Suicide Squad" & "The Suicide Squad" is also imho somewhat reminiscent to "Hulk" (2003) & "Incredible Hulk" (2008), which in that case I would also nearly consider a soft reboot between the 2003 & 2008 versions, even though the 2003 version never was part of the MCU. The 3 different Spider-Man live-action movie title franchises seem a little more different too because there was a bit of a hard reboot between the Tobey & Andrew versions.
Just watched it. Was super funny, well shot and had a amazing score. Fucking awesome job James Gunn!

Harley's ability is that she has no fear. That thing that makes you stop, her and Joker don't have that thing anymore. Why? Because they are crazy.
The big " things" can be so cool.. imagine if Starro take controls of the Justice League ( like in the comics ) so we get Suicide Squad vs Justice League!

Starro (the first villain in Justice League #1, BTW) got mind control spores or something in later comic incarnations so the starfish story might have angles. Or it might be as basic as the opening credits of Guardians 2.

I like how the design team for this managed to make a weasel look more intimidating than a shark
Whether you need to watch it or not, Bird's of Prey was pretty good, at least as far as DCEU movies go.

Yeah the first show set in the DCEU called Peacemaker will be airing January 2022 with 8 episodes for the first season. James Gunn is the showrunner and will direct some episodes. It will be a show that explores the origins of Peacemaker. But yeah to answer your question, Peacemaker is a very ironic and funny character who basically commits crimes and uses violence to keep peace as much as he can haha

I agree with the Starro/Doomsday point. I would have LOVED if the trailers didn’t spoil Starro being the big monster, that would have BLOWN my mind seeing it for the first time!

Honestly I think the only reason they showed Starro was because Eric Voss of New Rockstars figured it out well before any official trailer was revealed. He noticed it in the reel footage during DC Fandome

i definitely 100% believe that was exactly what happened. marketing and advertisement people are not normal, their brains work differently from an average person's brain. rockstar organised a controversy campaign to publicise gta when it came out. its nothing new.
