Over 1000 USA dollars a night for 3 4 minimal night stay what a grift but u can say I’m a environmentalist I care working class or the middle class for that matter can piss off!
that was GORGEOUS!!! that boat ride with the waterfalls and potential of seeing bears?? I can't even imagine how breathtaking it must have been in person! thanks for always sharing such awesome adventures.
We stayed here in 2019 when it was the Homfray Lodge and in the same room as you. Knew the lodge was up for sale, it’s nice that it’s in the hands of the First Nations people of the area. We saw lots of those “grizzly rocks” too, but never any actual ones.
That was a getaway that is really a getaway, like going to some pristine island. It all looked very peaceful and refreshing. The waterfalls are reminiscent of Norway.
Heaven on Earth; definitely! And, thank you so much for highlighting the beautiful culture of Canada's indigenous people. You are the MAN, Mike! Bless you.
This is so cool. I so appreciate you featuring Indigenous culture the way you do and also showcasing places I've not heard of in B.C. It's inspiring me to write a bucket list just to explore my own back yard! 🙏🏽 My guess of you locate being between Whistler and Pemberton was way off!! 😆😆😆
Love your channel. I actually worked with Leon on a Hydro Electric project 43km inland from the Toba inlet. They converted an old BC ferry to a floating "camp" for the crew. We were there for about 5months from Nov-Mar 2012. Similar to the run-of-river generator they have and the Wilderness resort just a thousand times bigger. Very cool to see the Toba inlet in one of your videos!
Wow. Everything was absolutely gorgeous. You find so many fascinating adventures, from train rides to boat rides, and everything in between. Thank you for sharing all of this with us.
Ahhh the memories - as my wife and I were watching this I realized that this was the place my uncle and I visited way back in 2015 during our boat trip through Desolation. Awesome! I guess the place has switched ownership since then as I don't remember these owners - they seem great!
What an incredible resort, Mike! Kudos to your First Nation's hosts - Cheyenne, Anita, Ian, Leon, etc. I will have to put the Klahoose Lodge on my to do list. I have been on a wilderness trip to Alaska (Lake Clark Wilderness - only reached by seaplane) and a boat up the Inside Passage to Malibu, so know the beauty of this area but what a special treat! I love waterfalls, and that one was spectacular. I love salmon, so could be happy for days eating the local catch, and crabs, oysters, etc. I was very jealous of your 3-day vacation, but glad you could share it with us! Thanks!
You are the wind in the trees...and the song of a bird...you are moonbeams in the midnight sky...and a glorious rainbow after the storm...you are morning dew...and freshly fallen snow...you are a butterfly flying overhead...you are a gentle touch...a warm embrace...💖
This resort has constantly been featured in magazines and books because of its unique qualities and sustainability, but you can't write about how beautiful each moment is there, you just need to see it yourself. (or rewatch this video)
Spectacular scenery and facilities. Thanks Mike, your access was superbly shared with us again. Your reputation for promoting all things Canada and especially Vancouver is certainly growing and is well deserved.
I was fortunate to be able to stay up at Good Hope when my son was lead guide up there. From flying in by sea plane, to salmon fishing in absolute pristine environments, listening to the whales via underwater mikes, watching hundreds of porpoises play around our boat, it was all beyond wild and beautiful. BC has such beautiful and wild places to explore, this one looks wonderful too. Hope everyone gets to experience magic like this.
This seemed like a great trip for you, send some rain lower mainland only had 3 mins + thunder enjoy Desolation sound and beyond, so thankful that you were interested in Indigenous culture, and Firsts Nations history and future endevinors.
Wow! This place is amazing! Being in the middle of nowhere is quite the commitment - which is a little intimidating for me - it's hard to let go of that cell reception. The people there seemed to be quite welcoming. It's also great to be able to get a little exposure to First Nation culture.
There is a feeling in my heart...a euphoric sense of exciment...finally...I found my love...like rainbow so colorful and vibrant...our world is a beautiful place...a home with no anger...no pain...like every sweet conversation...is a trip down memory lane...rainbow in my heart...rainbow in the sky...days like this when normal is wild...I will have the heavens fair...the golden clouds...the breezes mild...the door is opened again...lively stars...twinkling bright...in the night sky...you and I...holding hands of one another tight...💖
Very interesting to say the least. When the border 'tween Canada and the USA opens up again to general traffic, I'd sure would love to visit this place.
@@DownieLive Hey Michael! I asked WIRTH Hats when the DownieLive hat will be available again for purchase, because I want to buy one, and this was their response: Hi Johannes, Hopefully again soon! Thanks for this great video! From Scotland & although it’s beautiful, Canada is the best place ever… was there on vacation 10 years ago when I was a kid & definitely doing back! ❤️
Mike, I've been subscribed for at least a year now, and the content just keeps getting better and better. I really want to check this place out. Another excellent video.
your videos are always very Delightful to watch, you are like a breath of fresh air. I look ahead to watching more great videos in the upcoming future.
Very cool! Thank you for sharing your experience and showing off such a beautiful place. Will be putting this on the bucket list for sure. Take care and be safe!
I have to say I have enjoyed your videos, but this one was great, for those that aren't from BC, you've given us a place we wouldn't have known about to go visit. My partner and I are nature lovers and have been thinking about traveling more within Canada. BC being out 1st choice. I think we'll be visiting this place for sure. Thanks for sharing!
This was great Mike! What a beautiful place and a beautiful experience. I would love to go there with my friends. Of course now that you have done this video everyone is going to want to go there and I will have to book a year in advance.😊
I actually love the rain so that wouldn't be an issue for me; it's beautiful land and wonderful people caring for it. I will put it on my BC wish list. 😊 Thanks for the share.
This is an amazing video, thank you for sharing! Only place I've been that comes close to this is the Old Post, which is a fishing lodge on lake St Joseph which at the Osnaburgh House first nation 1000KM north of Thunder Bay. The property has the original Hudson's Bay trading post building at it's center, which is still operated as a small general store for the fishing lodge so you can get pop,snacks,t-shirts, hats and small fishing things that you may need like line or hooks. It also has the original church that was built by European settlers along with a graveyard that houses the remains of some of the original settlers as well as a few of the local natives one of whom went to fight in WW1 and died and was brought all the way back for burial. Waking up in a part of Canada that 99% of the population will never see was magical.
I live near this resort (sorta🤣) and must say your video makes me debate on a local option vs. going down to mexico for a winter hiatus. You have a fab channel!!
Great coverage of a beautiful part of your homeland Michael. When you get to come downunder, pencil in Cradle Mountain Wilderness Resort in Tasmania as a must do destination. Cheers from Melbourne.
I visited a place on the coast of BC , near Powell River ,back in 1990 when I was backpacking around the world. I stayed in a place called Fiddlehead farm . It was run by a Quaker family , completely self-sufficient …..That place was WAY off grid ! Great memories .
As always a great video ! The resort looks amazing and so does the area, I grew up on an island (Alert Bay) northwest of where the resort is, and started my flying career out of Campbell river so I know the area well. Amazing in the summer ! Thanks for the great video as always !

The Feds made that ownership happen as part of a land settlement claim

During the summer I could stay here quiet, just nice . YES!
Best way to promote indigenous culture. Those roses look beautiful. Thanks Mike for the video
Now added to my buckling items for Canada. Thank you. So Grateful for your shares. 🙏 ❤
Yeah this is cool. Holy frig man, 99% of BC residents won't get to see something like this.
Hopefully it stays that way... Imagine hundreds of insta influencers flocking here
99% of anyone won't ever see this place, that's the point. Gotta love the first nations appealing to the 1%, that's a good business model.
Great. Sign me up. The less people the better. Popularity ruins EVERYTHING.
