Thanks for the update on your Ute. Can’t wait to see it finished. Looks like you did get a pretty good buy. Love the sound of the exhaust. Should be a lot of fun fixing this Ute up.
Awesome buy mate! Congrats and can't wait for the ute content. You know you want to supercharge her Ross. Add to that instant low down V8 torque. When you're over that top end lull of a small blower and have a decent transmission, throw on a turbo or 2 and ECU tune her for boost per gear 🎉 I hope you have friends with lots of points to share with you for all the fines you're guaranteed to get in most of this country. That's necessary in an old Datsun 120Y, let alone a ute with an LS in it... Throw a barra into it eventually. Before the engines are worth more than an average car. Oh wait, they're just about there 😂
Mate had a manual one of these same colour with usual extractors exhaust otr etc etc and used to do alot of ks in the thing, defs had alot of fun in it, was super reliable. I defs think the vz is the best shape in the utes!!
Bruv I've never seen you this happy driving a ford🥳👍 You'd be more happy putting the 9.5s on both front and rear👍, on my SS I got 18's with 9.2s front(235's) with 9.6's(245's) on the rear & way better handling and smoother ride, on my wagon I got 19's Avant Garde 9.6's(245) front with 10's(255) on the rear... the previous owner🤡 had the 10s on the front 9.6's on rear SMH and he damaged the shock
I love your videos. I bought a VY wagon for $200.00 dollars and drove it for a year until the valley gaskets went out. Jebus it was fun. Used to rip up the gateway motorway after work. Boo, it blew up. Traded it for a 2004 Corolla wagon and got $500.00 dollars trade in. Winner.

For amount kms on Holden VY thats low repair bill, i still got pull old 5.0lt V8 out of my VR to do rear main seal, not cheap job. I like VY SS maybe Maloo bodykit? especially in a nice dark blue n wish it had come with old Australian Holden 5.7lt or stroker 6.2lt V8, i like sound of those old engines despite low revving n not hugh power output. 7K for cheap Aussies ute with still more room for fun.

Those rubber donuts on the tailshaft always break mate, get a new tailshaft made with a VT 4 bolt flange so it deletes the rubber coupling, if you even remotely drive the car hard the rubber joins will keep breaking. I went through 4 or 5 couplings at 100 bucks a pop till I finally changed it. Save the time, money and headache and do it right 🍻
Awesome to see those are the only things that need fixing with the ute. I would love to be able to get my hands on that tune for you and dial it in properly to fix the auto shifting for you... lol
I love a pushrod V8's response, It's usually got ALL it's power from idle to 4,000rpm. In a Turbo your looking for power while the V8 has just got it sitting there waiting to be released.
Once you get the 20’s on her try a 4.1:1 gear set for a bit more go for not a lot of outlay. I run these in my built WM grange and it changed the experience altogether.
You keep working on your Holden Ute Ross. I am glad to see there was not much that needed work. That is a pleasing thing to see and a good feeling. You focus on getting the cosmetic corrected and other things. You will be just fine and feel good about the progress. I often wonder if the Ute had come to the United States would it have been a success. I say this because we had them but the Chevrolet El Camino disappeared after 1987. They were going to bring it back at a Pontiac G8 ST, but the plans fell through. Thank you and work on your Ute.

I think he was put off by the rough exterior my guess… but mechanically not that bad at all
23O,OOOkms isn't that much really. They might be highway kms and if so it's nothing If it's been well serviced it will be fine. Definitely a great bargain for 7k. Johnny could give this a detail, put in new headlights and taillights and easily sell it for 12k, possibly even more. It will come up mint after those things I mentioned to do plus the Walkinshaw wheels will just be icing on the cake.💯
7 grand in todays money is not bad at all, i paid 6 for my VY SS back in 2012
That’s it today 7k won’t get you much eh
Make sure you do a dragy before and after
Not much performance stuff yet.. but will dragy once the wheels go on
What exhaust is it running?
It’s got pacemakers headers I believe and not sure on the exhaust tho
Nice wheel, do you have a link. I need one.
Not yet but I will once it arrives
Is the build of your f6 finished?
no have it going back to monsta torque soon
The list is good 👍
Not bas
is the are in the title right?
thanks fixed
How much was it on marketplace for?
Listed at 8500
I know it’s for a VY but do Hothouse Green paint or wrap please!! Will be a nostalgic beast ! @RossReviewsau
Definitely will get wrapped if she survives that long 😤
Beautiful vz mate I have been watching your videos and I enjoy watching them
Thank you kindly keen for the next updates
How much do you want for it brother
Ocean reef carpark hood spot for sending it
👀😂
I kmow its a big deal but a manual conversion on this will be awesome!!
That would be cool!🫣
Looks like a closed down shops car ??? Liquidation possibly
Maybe 🤔
Looking good man. Can't wait to see your burnout...
You and me both!
should have kept the xr8 manual ute
I like the F6 more tho
@GODLIKEZ490. That would have been a foolish mistake. This VZ SS Ute looks way better than his old Yellow XR8 Ute and even with the 4L6OE in his VZ SS Ute, it would absolutely chop his old XR8 Ute by a lot.💯
Sounds so good my man, good looking car defs fix her up and keep it.
