40 yrs old. Had pain in my left chest. I thought it was just gas then a few hours later I noticed these rashes on my chest and nipple. @@adrianagurnsey5505 sorry for the late reply. The second week was the worst. Just burning and pain. By the third week I was back to normal just fighting the itch. A couple rashes appeared on my back but it wasn’t from the shingles.. just from itching around it. I’ve tried numerous lotions (aquafor and equate hydrocortisone) but what worked for me was Dr teals eucalyptus and spearmint oil. I am finally back to normal but just have some scars from the shingles. Hopefully it goes away in meantime but definitely the eucalyptus oil/bath worked for me and cut down my healing time. Hope your recovery was smooth and if someone is going to this reach out. God bless! ✌️
Having it right now for the past month under arm and back .. still hasn't healed and now have terrible back and shoulder pain that's random when not moving... it's great!!😢
I wouldn’t wish this on my worse enemy. The pain is no joke. I took oatmeal bath, Epsom salt and vinagar bath, camomile baths, and baking soda and vinegar. I also used aloe Vera for soothing my skin. All these homeopathic remedies speeded up my recovery and made it bearable.
Just over a month ago I got shingles. While I was on vacation. My inside of my mouth was covered with the sores, my tongue, roof of my mouth, my lips and I had Bell’s Palsy on the right side of my face. I couldn’t speak, I could barely open my lips to sip water through a straw. So painful. I still have another script of valtrex if they come back and now realize I have them again starting on the inside of my right lip. I’m 36. What is happening?!
It really hurt a lots,like hot needles poking my lower back continuously. Honestly, I couldn't sleep well for 2days. But I took an Antivirus (acyclovir) and it relieved it instantly
I believe there’s a vaccine one can take. I can’t wait! This is the worst pain ever, and you’re not supposed to use certain strong pain meds for longer than 4-5 days, I read on the package insert.

At 26 years old, what started as a sore back ended as shingles. I suffered from a simple lower back pain and used some pain relief spray and the next morning I saw painful rash around my hip and lower back. I thought I had an allergic reaction to pain relief spray. Next day it became worse and the pain was something I had never experienced before and the first time I saw blisters. It was shooting pain that came in waves. I had to sleep on one side and any thing that touched it just hurt. The next day at the urgent care I was told I had shingles and was prescribed with medicine. All this was accompanied by a viral fever. This is the worst.

I'm 36 an I just got it for the first time on forehead an scalp,swollen glands in my neck,tired,dizzy,General sick feeling. .This crap sucks.They put me on 3000 mg of valtrex a day for a week, I'm on day 4.Hope this gets better soon!!Goodluck y'all stay strong.
Well its been 10 days, it stopped spreading now Just a few sores on my forehead that are feeling.glands in neck went down but still feel a little tired an dizzy an headache but I think the worst is over..goodluck folks, this virus is no joke.

Yup,it sucks,hopefully you caught it early, I went an got valtrex the first day I noticed sore on my forehead so it cleared up pretty quick an didn't spread.just don't itch or touch them.the swollen glands were more bothersome to me than the sores.it took about ten days for glands to go down an about two weeks for sores to heal up completely.

Robert Davis I know you last visited here over 2 years ago but my father recently got the shingles virus, I was wondering: it's at the early stages of it where nothing is visible and the only thing there is pain. Is it still contagious? I have 3 other siblings who haven't had chickenpox as a child and we are worrisome that we somehow got it, is it a possibility?
L-lysine(1000-2000mgs daily), seabuckthorn and aloe. Also avoid high L-Arginine foods until rash is gone(milk, cheese, turkey, tuna, nuts, salmon)
Maintenance to avoid reoccurrence 600mg of L-lysine once a day.
Fresh cut pineapple cures shingles. My instructions were to eat a cup once a day for 3 days. I just ate a whole pineapple one time. Next day 75% better. Day after barely felt symptoms, rash was healing. Next day felt 100% and could barely see where the rash was.

I would say CBD oil and or cannabis but with you being pregnant and no testing done on children, I wouldn't recommend.
Calamine with anti itch! I got the spray and it saved me a lot of pain i think. It literally numbs the areas and you can get through it. It’s not a cure but it soothed the areas a lot. Good luck.

I just had it! The pain is no joke, it strikes me 3xper minute on my head, left arms and my left hand got swolen crying with pain all day and night. Completely in agony for more than 2 weeks, I’m on my 3rd wk, finally all pains slowed down and wish I could go back to work. Just take all prescribed medications religiously to feel better don’t missed any single dosage, alarm yourself when it’s time to take. This helps a lot.

My doctor gave me an antibiotic antiviral and only gave me 12 tablets of Percocet for the pain. Any suggestions?

I’m on my fourth week with shingles on my right mid back one small rash and another tiny rash between my breast and back. Took Valacyclovir for seven days but the rashes are still there and it feels like my right breast is swollen as well as right next to ny breast between the breast and back! It’s very sensitive to the touch and I still get a shooting pain on the side of my right breast now and then.
I’m just so scared that this will last for a long time. Every day I pray that it leaves me alone. It’s making me depressed and I wonder how I will deal with it while I’m working ( going back to work in a week from now. )
So it will be total 5 weeks! I hope I’m better by then!

This is good intro to Shigles but does not reflect the intense pain. I have had it now for about 3 weeks, Rash scabbed over and cleared pretty much by end of first week with antiviral meds. The pain has continued, affected area where rash was is numb and surrounding it feels like worst sunburn you can get. In addition the nerve endings in the spine feel like sword in back with shooting pain, Under are also intense sharp pain. Bottom line is that Shingles is not merely a rash and goes away when rash does. Gabapentin kind of works for me, but still on Oxicodone. All I can say is DAMN!
Cannabis if you smoke already or CBD oil if you don't, wonder drug👍

I tried gerbapentin, Bendryl, capsacin, lidocaine but nothing helped with the ITCH, finally I was told by my mother in law’s maid to apply non flavored yogurt on my rashes and washed it off after 1 hour.. Sometimes I even kept it overnight n was finally able to sleep peacefully I pray in Jesus name this helps someone out there
Look up Lysine I take it as soon as I feel it coming and it does a great job I also put tea tree oil to dry up and prevent a flare up from getting worse.

I’m 43 just turned to 44 with shingles. Started from back pain and day by day, blisters wrapped around my right side of torso from back to front.

I get shingles on my lower back. I use applecider vinegar, tea tree oil and hydrogen peroxide interchangeably. Not too much because it irritates it if dried and treated too quickly then put on aloe vera which really reduces redness. Usually gone within the week.

Just came back from the ER today. The rash on my forehead but I thought they were 3 bug bites and my lympnodes are swollen on the left side. Went in and the doctor knew almost immediately, he tested my eye because the rash was near but eye is fine. Those who never experience this are lucky because it sucks.

I have it right Now. Its like a mild form of nightmare. Any action I take causes pain and sometimes this intense pain appears and stays for hours. Even though I don't have a flu or anything it is very uncomfortable. The worst thing about this is that you cannot really do anything about it but wait. I don't want to screw my pancreas by taking strong medicine. What seems to help a bit is tea tree oil - it dries the sores for a short period of time yet causing immense burning sensation. I just wish all of this was over. Its crazy.

What helps to ease the pain is IBUPROFEN - it is a moderate painkiller. Did magic for me, I was taking half a pill when I just could not take it anymore while being at work.

🤩 well I have some good news to disseminate on the subject of shingles you can get your own antiviral called BHT online or maybe you can get it at other places too it's a non-pharmaceutical so no side effects take anywhere from a quarter of a teaspoon to 1 teaspoon depending on your size in warm coconut oil a couple of tablespoons and take that several times a day that dissolves the casing around the virus I've had a lot of experience with this and I know of what I speak😅 that should knock it out if you start right away it shouldn't even hardly get going if it does it won't last long use apple cider vinegar on it it stinks like crazy for 3 or 4 minutes but then it stops stinging and it feels really good for a long time so this is the good news you just have to get proactive God bless you and may you find the health and healing that you need❤

I tried everything. The only thing that worked was del a Cruz sulfur ointment for acne. It dries up acne and it dried up the shingles sores and almost took away all the pain. You don't rinse off the sulfur ointment. Just reapply daily and in a few days the shingles is gone and you just have to scrape off the scabs

Antiviral medication is more than recommended you should see a dermatologist or family dr. This video mentions nothing of the fact shingles can have painful symptoms that last for years or be life threatening. It an also be activated in some people in their late 20 and 30's

I'm pretty sure thats just an old wives tale, but if your shingles is that severe your immune system is definitely on the weaker side.

.Regardless though if you suspect you have shingles go get it checked out immediately. Acyclovir (sp?) and other similar drugs are significantly more effective the earlier you take them.
For reference I had shingles on my back, it was about the size of a lemon (the rash patch) which is pretty tiny all things considered, yet it was still by a wide margin the most painful experience I have ever had. Shingles is no joke.
