Choosing the right size and fit for snowboard boots is essential for a comfortable and enjoyable experience on the slopes. Key Pointers for the Best Snowboard Boot Fit:
► When trying the boots on for the first time: tighten the boots properly.
► When standing straight, the toes should slightly touch the front of the inside of the boot.
► When going into a snowboarding stance, the toes should not touch the front of the boot anymore.
If the boots are too small, they may constrict blood flow, and if they are too big, you will have less board control, and you will most likely suffer from blisters. As Jacob points out, new liners will expand, so when you select the size, always consider the fact that all boots come with a short break-in period.
The Most Common Lacing Systems for Snowboard Boots:
► OG traditional lacing
► Single BOA
► Double BOA
► Speed lacing
The more advanced you are, the more you need to think about the boot's ability to wrap tightly around your feet and ankles. Of course, if you are old-school like Jacob, you can always go for the traditional lacing system.
Rules of Thumb for Choosing the Right Snowboard Boots Features:
► Beginners: A softer boot with a simple and convenient lacing system like the Single BOA .
► Advanced: A stiffer boot with double BOA or Speed lacing to provide great board control, responsiveness and energy transfer.
