Shorty's Paylake was ON FIRE! ON 'EM!

Always a good time to get out and lean on some catfish at a paylake. Call it what you will, but I have a blast doing it! This was filmed on a GoPro Hero 10 using a YOLOtek JuiceBox. Keeps my action cameras powered all day!

It used to be called Jimbo's but was bought. It's called Shorty's now and it's an excellent place to fish. Bill has built a second lake and that's what you see here in this video. Do you use circle hooks? Only reason I'm asking is I see alot of pay lake fisherman who set the hook like you, and I've always thought setting the hook like that with circle hooks will cause my misses than hookups?

I use good ole Eagle Claw hooks lol. I’m not much of a cat fisherman, as you can tell by the hook set. I bass fish. I get out with my buds and paylake a few times a year for fun.

Not much has changed in pay lake fishing except the hook set. Everyone around the lake used to set the hook the same as I do in the video. I think the reason it has changed is that most people use braid and there’s no stretch to it. 🤔 anyway, thanks for watching!

Why are you running back with your pole to set your hook take the up over your head with the pole .Stop running back you can’t get a good hook.
