Glad to see a podcast with MetaDoc! Me and other coaches from Voltaic had an amazing time working together with him inside Amped. We spent a good amount of time talking about different concepts related to improvement and coaching. Really often, I was able to see a lot of connections between the methods I used to improve and various concepts well known outside of gaming only thanks to his input. Seeing this podcast episode today really made my day! Keep up the good work
Man Ive watched like 4 of your podcasts on aim training, each one was awesome but thus specific one has me stopping in the middle of the video to tell you how useful it is and how lucky I am to have come across it today. Besides taking up aim training i I'm also learning yo play with the Axeron cyborg, and obviously I can't even move my character with conscious competence yet. So it really demotivated me and I was almost going to quit but thus video shows me how close I am and how I need to go into practice mode for 60 mins and just learn to walk run jump and sprint on autopilot. I can figure out weapon switching and all other requirements after I've mastered this one first. Same with my aim training. I'm just running the drills dry without too much conscious practice in it. I'm just trying to "do more reps" hoping that'll magically make my aim improve, but you're right doc, I need to pick like 3, focus on the mechanics and practice those alone for 60 mins. And then take my time to move up on later on.
Great podcast as always! I would love to see a world where the entire esports scene has managed to escape the trap that improvement comes by 'just playing more'. I can't even begin to imagine the developments that we could see across all titles as a result of it
I feel like the biggest testament to the quality of your content is how many trusted names in the aim community comment on your vids lol good shit. He mentioned links in the desc to some resources he's made. Any word on that? Thanks!
So when playing Valorant, CS etc to improve. You should always have 1 "objective" in mind to focus/consciously think about until it turns into a habit? And, at the same time look for feedback by for example asking yourself every time you die what you could've done differently?
My largest question from this episode is: In regards to introducing interleaving, once you take your break from a specific scenario after you realize your improvement (Aimlabs for this example) and you are going to perform the same scenario again (after your break) , would you only do it that one day and take an even longer break afterwards regardless of your performance or is it relative to your improvement and you would do it again for several days in a row until you realize an even higher skill level and then begin your next break? Really curious of what optimal timing would look like in this example; Thanks for any inputs! Great video all around and looking forward to your next!
MetaDoc has to have read into the occult or something either way he is an intelligent man, what makes me think he has read into the occult was that he uses symbols to remember things and signs and symbols rule the world (they are extremely powerful in the subconscious mind) and if you can draw then a good way of learning is drawing and or visualising success and things you are or have learned.
Depends. Music has tempo which might unconsciously make us play at a specific speed or rhythm. This can be beneficial in situations where you want to do metronoming (trying to shoot as fast as the beat) but it might screw you in other scenarios. Another factor would be if it helps you get to your ideal level of focus. If you are someone who needs to gets super excited to play your best then maybe some high tempo music will help you get to that state. On the other hand if you are someone who tends to death grip and get anxious then more calming music could be beneficial. Overall I use or don't use music depending on the day and type of training.
Yawning in the face of a Dr you asked to come on your podcast is nuts. 😂😂 I’m sure he didn’t take any offense by it but I could never bring myself to do that.
I know I feel bad about it but I couldn't avoid it. I've been really run down/ under slept lately, and the only way to talk to the doc was to book him in for the early morning! I'll try my best to avoid it on the future and I'm hopeful we'll schedule again to tackle other related topics.
1:14:00 I say this all the time and i feel their a divide in gaming The “im smart i can do it “ people always argue with the growth people Cause its two different worlds The grow see’s it as “ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE I DID IT where the “know it alls” say WTF THEN I CAN too but i cant!!! WTF!!!!!! Im on the know it all side and i always get kicked from discord servers lol

You’re like the Joe Rogan of e sports
Best video on youtube tbh.
you ask the best questions, and have helped me improve a lot.

Let’s go another pod about aiming!!

Favorite video so far
so, I should work more on precision in aim labs and horizontal movement.
I did have one question, when resting wether you are napping or exercising is music okay to listen to
Really great talk, I learned a lot, thanks!

so i should i be practicing the same skill like static for a week straight? or doing a different one everyday to get well rounded?
Does shuffle mode still exist?
I LOVE YOUR CONTENT THANK YOU
Does MetaDoc have a RUclips channel?
i have one question cs2 and kovaaks while listening to music, bad or good habit?
