The pink panther theme is Jazz, I listen to a lot of Jazz, and Wikipedia agrees with me en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Pink_Panther_Theme so not only do you need to learn your instrument families, you need to learn your genres too.

American here. And I always thought the same thing but only for Americans. I would never have realized that children in Siberia (which seems like the end of the World to me) would have even known who the Pink Panther was! Hilarious.
Russian submarine officer, Cuban Crisis, 1963, batteries dying, needing desperately to surface, peeked at US destroyer, and saw the men on deck playing jaz, probably this included, and knew the war was over, and could surface. Sub was armed with nuclear missiles. I didn't know about this until glasnost opened up ussr records and they read sub captains notes. My uncle was the Russian translater on US destroyer.

I used to stay as a kid in front of our TV set waiting for the cartoon Pink Panther. I have never realised how much effort was behind this song!

Esa cancion no fue compuesta para el dibujo animado, Pedro para la pelicula "La Pantera Rosa" que vino antes de la caricatura. Trata acerca del detective Jacques Closeau resolviendo el robo de una joya llamada La Pantera Rosa. Al inicio de la pelicula, en los creditos iniciales, utilizan una animacion de una Pantera rosada y de ahi esa animacion fue utilizada para la serie de caricaturas junto a la cancion
@@Wics83 lo sé, solo he mencionado que fue utilizada en los dibujos y que muchos niños, entre ellos yo, crecieron escuchando buena música gracias a esa serie que se repetía a menudo en las televisiones. Después de la película, se creó la serie pero nadie infantilizó la música, algo por lo que estoy muy agradecida.

Way back in my senior year of high school, our jazz band played this number multiple times. As the lead tenor sax player, I never had any trouble playing the main melody lines of the song, but always struggled with the solo part - never could quite get the "feel" to add that something special to the solo. . . That was fifty years ago, but when I dig my horn out from the back of the closet, the first sound out of the bell is "The Pink Panther Theme," I still remember how to play it. . . Such an iconic melody!
Love how you can just see the pink panther slinking around when you listen to this song. The horn instruments and how Mancini's touch is there.
