You know, there are these SAs who've done something special (at least for the client it was), and it is not forgotten. I for instance will never forget how I made my second purchase at LV, and I was standing in front of the mirror with the bag (it was my beloved Alma PM in Vernis leather in Noir Magnétique, if I remember correctly 😊). The SA was very patient and very friendly, she gave me the time I needed, just standing next to me in case I needed some help or had a question. Then there came this lady, another customer, and placed herself in front of the mirror I was looking in; I should mention that it was obvious that she was richer than me; she was wearing a mink *shudder*, and already had decided to buy a luggage piece, so she now wanted to decide about the bag. Today, being older and having more experience, I wouldn't mind telling her in a polite way that she was blocking MY view on the mirror, but back then, I didn't say anything. My SA did. Although this woman had more money and was all in all a better client, she asked her to please go to another mirror, because this one was already occupied (by me). She reacted very rude, but finally went to another mirror. My SA stayed calm and friendly throughout this whole situation, and (as you can see 😉) I never forgot that she stood up for me. I am sure you are remembered as well by some of your customers as a wonderful SA, and maybe the thought of this brings a smile to your face 😊❤.
Oh thank you so much for your lovely story! I do think of my wonderful clients all the time, and some are still in touch with me! They did make the job easier. That woman may have had more money to spend, but she was definitely not “richer” in how she acted. Thanks for watching 💕
@@dialmstyle That's wonderful that you are still in contact with some of your clients 💕! I suppose they miss you! A very interesting video, and I didn't like at all how little you were paid! This company belongs to one of the richest man in the world, he definitely can raise the payment (a lot, actually) without making any loss 😕! Have a lovely weekend ahead (and a happy Easter, if you celebrate 😊) ❤!
@@Demi1369 Because most leathers are connected to the food industry (meaning: meat; I eat vegan / sometimes vegetarian, but other people still do eat meat, so leather is partly gained because there is a meat industry). All the above don't correspond with things like fur (purely gained for the fashion industry, for nothing else; same goes for exotics). One mink coat is made from about 25-30 animals, which were held under terrible conditions - again - *only for the fashion industry* . And if you wonder: No, I don't buy any wool or other animal gained products anymore; I wear those I bought years, sometimes decades ago, but I don't buy new stuff. My bags will very probably and hopefully outlive me, since I take good care of what I have; so maybe it was worth *not* to buy a cheap bag that won't hold up and end up polluting the environment. But fur is unnecessary and outdated, there are better options available these days.
That's the thing. I am in several preowned LV groups. Some of the members cannot afford the Primary or Secondary markets. So they too are returning items to sellers for frivolous things like loose threads, missing stitches, stretched card slots, etc because (gasp) the owner might have actually used the item . Conversely, people who did not use their item are asking WAY over retail because of its scarcity. I purchased an item at LV that cost $640 after taxes. The exact item was selling in one of my preowned groups for $950. Price gouging at its finest.
@Lisa Green yikes! I heard from another viewer that people are asking for payment plans to buy Pre-loved! How about if you can’t afford it, don’t buy it! Payment plans are for houses, cars, or furniture! 🤦🏻♀️
@@lisagreen5469 I've seen this happen before and it really irritates me. Why in the world would anyone pay above retail for something that's still available - and new??
This is so true! I used to work for a luxury department store and the amount of people that used to bring their Louboutins back in and say “for this much money the red shouldn’t rub off the shoe” amazed me! It’s the sole of the shoe you walk on it! 😂 lol
Omg this!!! Worked in luxury for over 10 years and same. Why did the leather crease on my shoes? Why did my handbag get dirty!!! Like ppl these are still man made things.
Retail is brutal. My first degree was in fashion merchandising. I naively believed that retail was going to be fun and I’d enjoy the people. After six months I had such a jaded opinion of human beings because I’d seen it all. The worst were moms who would bring back clothes that their daughters would buy on Friday and wear for the weekend. Every Monday morning you would see the same moms returning clothes that were obviously worn and trying to pretend that they weren’t . This is theft.
These people should be banned from the store! There are too many lenient store policies that make it easy for shoppers to take advantage. Thanks for watching 💕
I totally relate to this comment 1000% percent lol retail has made me see how cruel n deceptive humans can be when they knew they can get away with abusing the system n still get rewarded with a coupon afterwards
I am a private seller on ebay...I sell my personal stuff there and even though I don't accept returns I once got a (new) designer skirt returned that was obviously worn for a night out and smelled so badly that I had to put it in a sealed bag. I could never work in retail...some people are just awful.
I used to buy lots of Louis Vuitton bags, and used to be a big fan of this brand. I lost my interest lately on those funky designs and declined quality. Now learning how abusive the company treats it's employees, I probably will never go back again.
Hearing this makes me feel that my SA scored having a client like me 😂I've never done a return(and I buy quite a bit) and I'm always so accommodating. Wow! I can't believe LV doesn't take care of their employees better. I really hope things have change. It's nice to get a look in from the outside so thank you for sharing!
Aaaaw!! I remember that one time in Paris, almost ten years ago, one SA was accompanying me in the elevator to the workshop so I could get my sunglasses fixed and he said I was soooo different from other LV customers~ I asked why, and he said because I was way nicer and I honestly didn’t get it and thought maybe he was just trying to flatter me~ Now that I have heard your story, I can totally imagine how happy you must feel when finally someone comes in the store with a smile on their face and nice words, and they’re not trying to prove anything... I’m convinced now that that SA was being real with me! Thanks for sharing your experience!! :)) :)) :)) :))
I worked at a cosmetic counter and a customer wanted to make me personally responsible when she knocked over a bottle of perfume that was on display. The display was something that my corporate coordinator told me never to move. The store manager scolded me and said that the customer now had her shoes ruined. I told him the perfume also splashed on my shoes which cost the same and that the incident was an accident. After that I knew I had to leave retail. People don’t realize how difficult it is dealing with the public and sometimes bad behavior.
I think everyone who complains needs to work in retail for one day!! Customer behavior has gotten worse and worse. The manager should have taken your side! Customers shouldn’t touch things like it’s their playground! These are expensive items!! Thank you so much for your comments 💕
Wow! I had no idea LV customers would be that way in the store. Now I get why they treated me so well when I came in and offered me champagne and sparkling water. I asked each person how their day was going, knew their life stories, and even went out to dinner with an SA who went above and beyond to find me a sold out bag at another store. I'm in healthcare and considering going part time at best or doing something else entirely for very similar reasons you described the retail world. Right now, I'm taking a break.
I used to work in the LV warehouse and everything she is saying is true. I was the one checking what the sales people would send to the warehouse to get fixed. So I worked very closely to the artisans. I checked if the bags that were sent were real or fake. The salary is a joke in these luxury brand warehouses. My husband now makes 3 times of what I used to make with Louis. Like Michelle said I did learn a lot about the brand so I'm thankful for that.
Omg! Lol! I'm laughing and feeling my blood starts boiling at the same time. I've worked in retail for the last 20 years and people just never stop surprising me. Mostly not in a good way.
20 years! I’ve definitely seen a change in customer behavior over 20 years, not for good! I wish the complainers would work retail for just one day! Thanks for watching!
Wow - never would think LV was that stressful. I don’t own any bags from them but do think they are pretty. Now I will consider the employees that work to sell those products too! Thank you for sharing!
This should be a must-watch for all aspiring client assistants/sales assistants. Your honesty is refreshing and eye-opening. While I value the help of those who assist me, it reminds me how important it is to be kind, realistic, patient and gracious as a customer/client.
Oh man, I can imagine that the job could take a lot out of you. And the characters you meet! Just unbelievable, Michelle.😓 Thanks for sharing your experiences!
I have had the exact same experience just as a part timer. My expectations were far from reality. On top of your mentioned points (exhaustion, naps on free days, silly requests...) I was also surprised by the toxic work culture. The fight between colleagues for the best customers also based on racial profiling and the lack of appreciation of each employee’s service from the management. As well as the high amount of fluctuation. So many colleagues left or got fired. It was definitely a huge challenge and like a training in resilience, eloquence, leg muscles and interculturality. Kudos to everyone who masters this for a longer period.
Christian Ask yes! All of this! The racial profiling, favoritism, it’s indescribable what goes on behind the scenes. Definitely kudos to those who tolerate it. Thank you for sharing your experience!
I didn’t realize how much SA’s go through and it is more understandable when they don’t reply to you or aren’t the sweetest to you all the time. They are over worked
I really appreciate your comment! I know at times I was very short with customers, and I apologize for those times! It’s a tough job! Thanks for watching! 💕
Spent eight years working IT Field Support for Macy's. A coworker had a bumper sticker in her office that sums it up well: "I'm not going to hell...I work in retail, I'm already here."
I hated working retail when I was in college. I just bought my first LV bag and wallet and I am happy. I am always nice to retail workers because I know what it’s like. Good video.
Thanks for sharing👍 Now people who likes buying and returning should know. Many of youtubers buy the bags and make vdo. Then they ask " what do you think guys? Should I keep it? I'm not sure if I like it." Then they return the bag. 🙄 Sometimes they even try on and put their stuffs in the bag but when they see a small scratch on the bag , they scream " omg!! It's dammaged. It must be a return" 🙄🙄 If I'm not sure, I never bring it home. Leave the bag for other customer who's ready to make decision. If I'm not sure , it means I'm not 100% in love with that bag. Then I just leave it. So simple is that.
Ratiya Lalala yes! They do ALL this! 😂 If you are going to buy, be sure. Some people want to put all their stuff in, romance and snuggle it, with no intention to buy, and then the next person won’t buy it because it’s been touched all over already! 😂
Yes! It’s disgusting to me. I’ve seen a RUclipsr talk about she doesn’t know if she’s going to keep a bag after using it well over 2 weeks. No integrity. I only talk about what I like. If I don’t like it you won’t see it because I won’t buy it. Period.
Thank you for sharing your experience! My sister used to work at Gucci (not as high end as LV) and she was getting $15 an hour! This luxury retail companies should be ashamed.
My entry level job at an insurance company (very well known and all over the TV) started at $13. Think of how much insurance companies make. Customer service is maddening.
I worked retail for almost 30 years, all over the board from high end to low and management. Honey, I feel your pain. In higher rent cities $25 an hour barely covers expenses...people in Middle America don't get this. Tiny apartments in NYC go for $1200+ a month and that's still with a 45 minute commute. Retail is notorious for NEVER giving full time unless you are management, and then upper management will work you like a dog with 60-70 hour weeks being the norm.
I used to be a waitress. I was done after a year. Same story. The good customers don’t outweigh the bad. Besides the fact it pays horribly on average. $25/hr back then would have been a dream. I feel your pain. God bless everyone in the service industry.
@@dialmstyle yes I actually am! I have been blessed enough to become a full-time stay at home mom and have the blessing of luxury blogging as a hobby. I’m so very happy and thankful. I wish immense happiness, love and joy to you and others as well. Thank you. 💝
I am deeply sorry that you went through all of that nonsense. From working retail myself, I feel like no matter where you work, people always think they have the upper hand or make weird request.
I can only say wow.. thanks for sharing. I am a LV customer and have a few LV’s. I tried to always see the same sales associate. I only returned/exchanged once because after keeping my purchase in my closet for a couple of weeks I just didn’t have the right clothing to wear a light colored speedy with the bright LV’s on the bag. I saw customers in my local store that you referenced but never saw them leave with an exchange. I wish I had kept all of my receipts in a safe place because now 20 yrs later I would love to sell a few of my bags but certainly don’t want to experience a buyer who wants my extremely well loved bags for cheap just cause they are older. I have 2 runway bags that are heavier than a neverfull and a overfilled speedy combined so rarely used.
Hi Kathryn, thanks for your comment! I would have loved to have that speedy! I believe the resell market on LV is very high right now, you might be able to collect a good amount, however be prepared for low offers. I believe you can find the right buyer with patience! Thanks for watching!
Very helpful tips. Good thing you left LV, quite surprised how they treat their employees. Also, I've heard a lot of horror stories at LV stores - from rude customers to having a fake bag asking for repair New subbie here xx
Laarni B N'style thank you so much 💕 I am so relieved to not be there, even visiting the store feels dark to me! I definitely have more stories to come! XO
Having a lot of money doesn't buy class. They are usually the cheapest and the rudest people you would ever have to work with. I worked in retail and I understand exactly what you are talking about.
I own many LV pieces and love the brand, but the quality of the canvas products is really crap. Every single LV wallet that I own has things unglueing, the canvas coming apart. Absolutely unacceptable!
The 35 hour workweek is interesting to know. As a French company, I’m assuming they base all workweeks (regardless of the country) on the same regular workweek as France (35 hours per week). Great video!
Retail sucks. That's why I feel bad when I'm just wanting to browse some days. I feel like the SAs have to babysit and follow me around but I really just wanna relax and browse. I just tell them straight up I'm just looking but it still feels like I'm wasting their time.
I know what u r talking about. I went to one or two of those luxury shops to just browse and see for myself what they are about as I can't even afford their clothes however feeling that I was wasting the SA's time when I won't buy made me feel really bad though she knew I was just browsing.
Thanks for sharing your experience. I always thought it’d be fun to work selling luxury items as a gig during the busy holiday season, but it sounds like it was pretty brutal :( I subbed to help you meet your goal and to see your other vids :)
Thank you so much for sharing, I'm currently interviewing with Louis Vuitton. I've worked in lux retail in the past and I also was shocked at the sales environment, customer and work culture too; its the same more or less on the brand. And in terms of price increase on bags, gouging your hours, that is unfortunately a result of our capitalist economy. Businesses are encouraged to make as much money as possible and cut costs where they can and have no incentives to provide a living wage to workers, that usually means the worker get's their pay reduced. Discount is also low so they can make more money from customers paying full price. It's awful but at least it looks great on a resume!
I worked for Burberry in Singapore. Pay was honestly great because they gave higher commissions. Eg: 2% if you make your goal. However it was extremely stressful. The SA's kept fighting or sales and the managers kept pushing you for the numbers.
I dealt with it in Victoria secret.. I can’t believe people do such things! I was full time, work mostly OT, I technically just visit the house and living at work.. good benefits and pay in my opinion for my position.. but I lost my social and family life.. I lost half of my life trying to make the money, and combatting the stress off the roof! The quota things is usually what kills you.. so I left, last year.. thank you for sharing! Retail is tough
Retail sales comes with high expectations and high stress. Having your boss breath down your neck all the time to meet sales quotas is no fun especially when you served your client hand and foot only to have them return the items they purchased at later date. Been there done that and will never do it again but I do have the greatest respect for sales associates because I've been there and know how tough their jobs can be. Thanks for sharing.
I just left my job for LV for the same exact reasons!! They do not care for their employees… I was given 2 promotions… not one of them came with a pay increase (I was kept at the same hourly rate I was hired with as a seasonal). You are literally just another number to them :( And you’re 100% right about the price increases! They have nothing to justify it with… if anything their quality gets worst and worst EVERY YEAR!
I worked in high street and mid-luxury retail for about 4 years. It was so fun sometimes but the pay was horrible - minimum wage and commission was based on sales per hour (SPH) so unless you hit targets you’d barely scrape 1%. Management was also cheap with labour and “full time” was 32 hours a week with no benefits. We’d get our schedules based on our sales, so low sales meant crappy shifts or having to do stock off the sales floor as punishment (while still having the same sales goals as everywhere else). I know someone at Dior who does well and gets benefits with commission and salary, but in past the point of ever going back. Thanks for sharing!
Our advisor is very sweet - she's only 21, full time, part time model and studying. She has told me a few horror stories - I don't know how people put up with the stress! And why does it happen so much at LV?! I'd really love to know? I mean do people do it in Chanel or Fendi or Hermès as well?! LV sure attracts some crazies 😱 Good on you for going back to what you really love and enjoy! Life's too short to deal with all of that drama and stress and physical exhaustion x
Thank you so much Gigi! I think because LV has that street wear vibe...so it’s a little more accessible...to the crazies... 😂To tell you the truth, since leaving there, I have no desire to enter a luxury store. I’m sure the crazies are everywhere, but yes, LV is the Walmart of luxury 😂 Thank you for your lovely comments💕
@@dialmstyle - thanks for your honesty and for sharing. It's always interesting to know what it's like behind the scenes. I've worked in retail when I was in my 20s, so I knew about targets etc. and to be honest I found it quite stressful. I can't imagine how it feels in such a hectic non-stop environment like LV - these days - there's a queue outside the store almost EVERY DAY (in Sydney, Australia)! I think all luxury stores will get some of these extremely unreasonable people, but I'm certain that LV and maybe Gucci might get more of these characters than say Chanel or Dior. In Sydney Gucci and LV have the biggest physical presence as well. Their stores are huge, multi level flagships and the queues are steady. Hahaha - luxury is an addiction - if you can stay away, you should! I feel like once you get into it it's a slippery slope and it's hard to get out! I wish you so much success with your work and with your YT channel! Xx
You are so sweet Gigi, thank you so much. It’s true about Gucci and LV, and who they attract. Chanel does attract a different consumer, mostly women, plus theirs and Hermès price points are inaccessible to most. You will not find me in any line, I don’t need it that badly 😂😂😂 I have always worked retail part time in cosmetics and loved it, but now I’m done! Not only because of LV, but every time I shop I hear the sales associate explaining to the customer “no you cannot return it after you open it and use it”. Bed sheets, socks, underwear, kitchen goods...😳😳😳 Amazon and the stores that accept all returns has really ruined it for everyone. I am so glad I never got addicted to LV, although I wish I had some pieces from the Marc Jacobs era. While my friends were buying LV, my addiction was Tiffany & Co, then shoes, then Henri Bendel...it’s all relative... Thanks again for all your positive comments! 💕💕
Very entertaining but I'm not very surprised with any of the things you said.. People expect more when products are expensive they want to show off to their friends that they have this bag or they buy it to do a review then return it after .You are right about the price going up for no reason but not much we could do about that.I will ALWAYS be the customer and not the other way around. I can't stand customers. Great video
Your video is so straight forward thanks. The part about unusual demands of customers convinces me luxury brands attracts the type of people who believe they are above the rules applied to the rest of people in society. So sorry the company also treats employees so poorly. I am convinced if I ever considered buying an expensive bag, to not buy LV.
Oh how cool, I am lash artist too.. and I did want to work for LV when I was younger but here in Australia they seem to hire a lot of Japanese or chinese that is more targeted to Asian market.. can communicate with those type of buyers
My first time purchasing something from LV I was surprised that they don’t sell you the floor demo! They actually goto the back and get you a new stock! 😂. For returns I think it depends, if they offer 14 days return policy I think everyone have the right to return it without being judged. But if it’s over that period and they want service or return that’s another story.
I deal with this everyday with customers. The higher the price point the higher the expectations. I want to tell them not to buy these things. You can get something much cheaper and when it conks out 🤷🏾♀️. But then again I won’t have a job.
I work for Apple and the customers are similar, I feel like if you have to remind people about the cost of the item, you couldn't afford it in the first place!!!! In my opinion that is soooo tacky!!!
Omg your channel is like watching Sarah Jessica Parker narrating her role in SITC , honestly ! I’ve never subscribed and watched episode after episode, thank you for sharing your time and knowledge !
Aaww I buy luxury items here and there and they’re only SLGs because I can’t afford anything more than a couple of grand 😔. I feel bad for my SA’s now, I didn’t know how it works but I was in retail for three years and I do know nasty it can be. So every time I go in there I’m always kind and respectful (as you should no matter what). I know every time I’m done they always have that “please don’t go..save me” body language lol. I remember apologizing to my SA for taking so much of his time. And he says to me...believe me I rather be talking to cool people like you, you have no idea.. aaawwwww I feel so bad.
Sally Siphan awww sally, you are so sweet! It was hard work, and even my coworkers were mean (I’ll save that for another video!) But you know what, I still do remember my really sweet customers, and they made it much easier!
Thank you for sharing ! I wanted to get the pochette Métis in reverse for the longest time. When I went to LV store a year ago the SA laughed at me when I asked for this bag.. now it’s available and I received one from the web site : the canvas was not cut straight and all the monogram was like falling on one side, so I asked to exchange it, the second one they sent me had the lock broken, it’s was stuck, and non popping up while pulling the button... I went to LV store and they tried to tell me that it was normal ! So now I am waiting for the third one and very afraid to have another problem with the bag. On top of that when I asked to get my money back, they said that it’s not possible because they put it on the store credit without telling it, and that the store credit I have to use in one year if not it will be lost. I would really prefer to get my money back and spent it again instead of having the store credit 😕 and the SA was not nice at all in the store.. I don’t think that I am very picky but I juste want to get a bag without the defects for the money we have to pay for it 😒
Oh no! The pochette metis in canvas is a notoriously naughty bag, because this type of flap bag works much better in leather than in canvas. I’m sorry you had that issue, and you are not the only one! Perhaps chose a different bag, or the leather version?
@@dialmstyle thank you for your answer ! I think if the third bag will arrive damage again I will give up on it. I am thinking about the new chain bag, but not sure it’s looks a little bulky 🤔 and it’s another flap but maybe it’s made differently 😯
I worked at Burdines a long time ago in the Linen department and a lady came in with an old, dirty wrinkled and disgusting comforter and said she hasn’t washed it but it started looking like this. I didn’t touch it. I immediately got a manager involved who wasn’t in the mood for it and simply said let her exchange it. I left the old one right where she left it. Someone else had to pick that thing up, not me. People do these types of things because they can get away with it. Definitely people feel entitled.
Interesting info, I always hear people say they hate returning luxury. I know I’m one of those people, in my 20+ years buying from LV I’ve only returned maybe two items. Thanks for sharing your experience.
I have friends that were... WERE, Louis Vuitton SA’s and SM’s that said it is a horrible company to work for. Lol The pressures to sell were ridiculous. I have been buying this brand since 1981 but stray from LV these past 10 years because their craftsmanship is crap.
I have been in Louis Vuitton store and I saw first hand anxious customers, horrible, I feel sorry for the S.A, but I have to said my experiences always has been very pleasant not just in the USA, and Europe too, I try to be nice and cordial and they respond the same way very very nice
I worked at Victoria's Secret 10 years ago and had similar expereinces. I clearly remember a customer exchanging a couple of very used bras. The store didn't even carry the style of bras she's exchanging anymore. It was that old. The store manager at that time allowed the exchange. Though the price was the lowest selling price, the customer was able to exchange the raggedy, old ones to a new one. It was insane!
@@dialmstyle Disgusting!!! At that time, my manager explained that she was trying to build good customer service reputation at that store. But I agree with you, it should not be allowed and tolerated. You can just imagine what other types of return we got back on those days. You would literally gag.
I just recently went in to purchase a neverfull mm. I can’t believe they’re people who ask such silly questions. This society/ retail environment definitely has a problem with entitlement. I would never ask to trade in a bag for a new one! Who do people think they are. 🤣 That is just embarrassing. In retail you sure do get it all. I am sorry for that! There are loyal customers to LV still that won’t waste your time!
You are so right! Unfortunately these behaviors take away from the experience of the customers who do come in for the neverfull! Thanks for your comment! 💕
This is depressing 😕 Explains the last two bad experiences with the employees. Just like I guessed... they’re not happy with their job. Thanks for insight.
I will say that I always had a perception of luxury designer brands being that it’s classy & you work with people of class but I suppose that is not the case. Retail can be brutal. I worked at Abercrombie & Fitch for a year or so & absolutely hated it. It’s not even a luxury brand but the people who buy from them & bring things back do ask & say ridiculous things. I have a friend who owns several LV purses & she loves them. She takes good care of them but she owns quite a few. I also have another friend who absolutely loves & is grateful for the Neverfull she recently purchased. She saved up for it & it’s her dream purse & she’s grateful & takes care of it so I’m happy she was able to get her dream purse & is thankful in the process. I’ve been contemplating buying one but am not sure if I will given this review of how they treat their employees. Pretty disgusting IMO.
I had that perception too! Thank you for sharing, I love when hearing people are grateful and not entitled to have it! After working there, I can live without it, but also wouldn’t mind if it were gifted to me! 😆 Thanks for your comments!
Hi! Just subscribed. I love this! I feel I’m such a great client to my fave lux brands (hello Hermès and Chanel). Seriously though, it’s discouraging to hear these stories. I absolutely ADORE my SA’s on a personal level- everything else is cake!🤗
aimzky suba thank you so much! You are braver than me 😁 I’ve actually been in and out of retail since high school, and I love it, but this was my first time going full-time! It’s dramatically different than holding a part time job in retail!
@@dialmstyle thanks .working in retails for 14 years seen it all. customers are nasty! they have no clue what behind the scene. thank you and have a great weekend!
I have never worked or paid for a 40-hour week. It was 37-1/2 hour at one medical center and 35 hour at another. And, we work way less than that. If you really count, I only work 2-3 hours per day. If anyone is interested, I am an admin assistant. The pay is 50k to start and it goes up from there. The lower administrative assistant positions are actually less stressful. Never take an executive assistant position! stress, stress, stress! I believe those in the Financial industry work 40 hour weeks from 8-5. That's too long a day for me. I am grateful I fell into jobs at medical centers.
Thank you for sharing. I just visited the store and asked the sales person their goals required and Yes, $12-15 k a day. That’s very stressful in my opinion, I too have beauty and cosmetics experience in retail snd know it can be challenging but I like the fun in it and personal relationships you can always build. Glad you made this video cause shame on the CEO/ Owner for OVER PRICING ON THE every single one of those ITEMS. I’m really liking a mm bag and wish it wasn’t so overpriced bcs nothing is different from another lamb skin or canvas material. In fact the canvas feels thinner and the linings are ugly with simple materials inside. For the price point it should be leather and suede instead of microfibre.
That’s disheartening to hear for the low pay... at LV...typical Big brand store style of salary... and that’s why the quality of the LV bag went out the door.. so much demands. Glad your in your happy place now ❤️👍
@@arleneaustin6691 I am white and they never say hi. I actually thought maybe they don't say hi cause I am, but I wouldn't normally say that. Lol. If I worked there I'd be saying hi to everyone since there's commission to be made.
All lv employees should join lv or luxury bag groups- not to brag but get a broader knowledge of other customers. Everyday day customer service can jade a customer service rep or such and Color how they treat customers. Joining a group can add empathy and help achieve a common ground. Just because we are in customer service means doesn’t mean we have seen it all therefore we know it all and can treat ourselves and others as less than
I worked at a custom furniture store and I learned something from my boss, "most people are not self aware." She said 9 out of 10 times whatever the customer came in saying they *didn't want* was exactly what they left with. (One lady said she didn't want anything 'old lady-ish' and picked out a very old lady sofa pattern.")

Thalia Happy Easter to you as well! 💕🌷
I’m so confused as to why you would shudder at the mink?
It’s crazy that they have these high sales goals but they never have consistent stock of the pieces ppl want.
Yep! They want us to say, no we don’t have that, but buy a Capucines!!! Thanks for your comment! 💕

@May T bs
@May T - That’s not true. Sewing machines are now used. Per an article in the UK Guardian. The ASA took LV to court for misleading the public.
@May T - Exactly.
This is why I've never worked with people. Money doesn't buy you class, just because you can afford it dosent mean you get to be a douch bag about it!
Money does not buy class indeed. If you can afford the bag, be graceful, not entitled! Thank you for your comment! 💕
@@dialmstyle All true!!
😂 lol
rachelwentshopping omg what?!? Wow. I’m not surprised, more bewildered at lack of common sense! Thanks for watching!
They are not wrong 🤷🏻♀️
@@diodaon4898 are you serious? How is the red not supposed to come off if YOU ARE WALKING ON THE SOLES.
@@felicecinque If you think of regular shoes, my sole color is the same even when it is worn down. But of course the soles are painted, haha
@@nybsbfan18 doesn't oshkosh have that policy?
I used to buy lots of Louis Vuitton bags, and used to be a big fan of this brand. I lost my interest lately on those funky designs and declined quality. Now learning how abusive the company treats it's employees, I probably will never go back again.
I only buy Pre-loved now. Thank you for watching! 💕
At that price point for a LV bag, you would think SAs make more.
Thank you for this video. Knowing the seller's perspective is always good, avoiding being a bad customer and mistreating someone working very hard.
The best part of this story, is that your heart lead you back to your passion. Love your vibe and thanks for the great story!
$25 an hour in retail is actually really good. I was a manager in retail and made less..and no commission.
Exactly! That’s more than I make with a college degree 😂
I definitely miss my dream clients! If they were all that way, I might still be there! Thank you so much for your comment! 💕
@@dialmstyle you're so welcome💗
Thank you for sharing that story! I definitely remember the nicer clients because they aren’t as common anymore :(
I worked at a cosmetic counter and a customer wanted to make me personally responsible when she knocked over a bottle of perfume that was on display.
Wow! This video was so eye opening. Glad you are doing what makes you happy and is more financially rewarding now.
ngmncrew thank you so much! 💕
Thank you for your input! 💕
Omg!
I did not expect it either! Thank you for watching! 💕

Working Retail is a Challenge one Chooses. Always Loved Mine... Best Foot Forward.
Thank you for sharing. I had no idea what an high end retail employee experience. It's very insightful!

Spent eight years working IT Field Support for Macy's. A coworker had a bumper sticker in her office that sums it up well: "I'm not going to hell...I work in retail, I'm already here."
😂😂😂
I hated working retail when I was in college. I just bought my first LV bag and wallet and I am happy. I am always nice to retail workers because I know what it’s like. Good video.
Thank you so much 💕
Thanks for sharing👍 Now people who likes buying and returning should know. Many of youtubers buy the bags and make vdo. Then they ask " what do you think guys? Should I keep it? I'm not sure if I like it." Then they return the bag. 🙄
Sometimes they even try on and put their stuffs in the bag but when they see a small scratch on the bag , they scream " omg!! It's dammaged. It must be a return" 🙄🙄
If I'm not sure, I never bring it home.
Period.
Omg, you must be a saint. I would last one day dealing with clients like that.

When some people (not every person) buy something expensive they somehow feel entitled and like they can get away with anything. How annoying!

Thank you for sharing your experience! My sister used to work at Gucci (not as high end as LV) and she was getting $15 an hour! This luxury retail companies should be ashamed.
😳 at Gucci! I hope she was earning commissions! Thanks for your comment!
My entry level job at an insurance company (very well known and all over the TV) started at $13. Think of how much insurance companies make. Customer service is maddening.
What a eye opener. So happy you are back to doing what you love❣
Thank you so much 💕
I worked retail for almost 30 years, all over the board from high end to low and management.
Yes, thank you Heather!
I used to be a waitress. I was done after a year. Same story. The good customers don’t outweigh the bad. Besides the fact it pays horribly on average. $25/hr back then would have been a dream. I feel your pain. God bless everyone in the service industry.
Thank you so much for sharing. It’s hard work and unappreciated after a long day! I hope you are doing what you love!

That was some good information would’ve never had thought that at LV wow
I am deeply sorry that you went through all of that nonsense. From working retail myself, I feel like no matter where you work, people always think they have the upper hand or make weird request.
As they say…It builds character!
Spent most of my years employed in retail, so I truly understand.

Very helpful tips. Good thing you left LV, quite surprised how they treat their employees. Also, I've heard a lot of horror stories at LV stores - from rude customers to having a fake bag asking for repair New subbie here xx

Such fuss over a ubiquitous and ugly, poo colored monogram textile that screams "Look at me, I’m an arriviste".💁🏻♂️
Glad I don’t work in retail anymore. It’s brutal. Never want to return 😬 you reminded me of the horrors of retail
I didn't know people work a full 40 hr/week until I temped at Merrill Lynch. Hated it! The days were so long, 8-5.
Retail sucks. That's why I feel bad when I'm just wanting to browse some days. I feel like the SAs have to babysit and follow me around but I really just wanna relax and browse. I just tell them straight up I'm just looking but it still feels like I'm wasting their time.
Oh I know the feeling! Thanks for watching!
I always encourage part time seasonal if you want to try it out...but it is brutal! Longer hours during holiday too! Thank you so much for subbing 💕💕
Best of luck with your interview! I hope it works out how you want!
COLEEN CARRETERO congrats for leaving. I’m sure you saw all kinds of crazy and customers make a mess at VS! 😱 Thanks for stopping by!
Thank you so much for this comment! It helps CA’s and former CA’s feel validated! 💕
I just left my job for LV for the same exact reasons!! They do not care for their employees… I was given 2 promotions… not one of them came with a pay increase (I was kept at the same hourly rate I was hired with as a seasonal).
You are literally just another number to them :(
And you’re 100% right about the price increases! They have nothing to justify it with… if anything their quality gets worst and worst EVERY YEAR!
Oh wow, so they gave you a promotion, meaning more responsibility, but no pay raise? That is not a promotion! Thank you for sharing!
I swear no place cares about their employees.
Wow!!! I will never buy another item from them. They make more than enough money to pay employees a decent salary and treat them with kindness.
Oh my, that sounds like a very horrible experience where they do not value the sales associate whatsoever!
LV sure attracts some crazies 😱
Good on you for going back to what you really love and enjoy!
You will not find me in any line, I don’t need it that badly 😂😂😂
I have always worked retail part time in cosmetics and loved it, but now I’m done!

Yes, things have changed…
They definately sell the floor display!!!
LV is NOT classy. Price doesn’t equate to a standard of class.
I deal with this everyday with customers. The higher the price point the higher the expectations. I want to tell them not to buy these things. You can get something much cheaper and when it conks out 🤷🏾♀️. But then again I won’t have a job.

I don’t think that I am very picky but I juste want to get a bag without the defects for the money we have to pay for it 😒
And once I saw the woman in the store (in France) who tried to ask to exchange her lv bag that she got 10 years ago for the new one ..
I am thinking about the new chain bag, but not sure it’s looks a little bulky 🤔 and it’s another flap but maybe it’s made differently 😯
why would you continue to spend that amount of money on a bag not worth it?
Thank you for sharing your experienced.now ive learned how difficult an SA work life is.
Thank you!
Oh god, that is awful!!! I would be too embarrassed to do that, but people have no shame anymore. 🤢
@@dialmstyle None whatsoever.
So interesting to know those things. People are so crazy. Thank You so much for sharing darling
FABULOUS IRENE thank you Irene! 💕
Thx for sharing your thoughts and experiences! I’m a new subbie🎉💕
Lorna Hill thank you Lorna! Glad you stopped by! 💕
Interesting info, I always hear people say they hate returning luxury. I know I’m one of those people, in my 20+ years buying from LV I’ve only returned maybe two items. Thanks for sharing your experience.
melikeetoo thanks for stopping by! Of course, we also had dream clients, thank God!
I have friends that were... WERE, Louis Vuitton SA’s and SM’s that said it is a horrible company to work for. Lol
The pressures to sell were ridiculous.
I have been buying this brand since 1981 but stray from LV these past 10 years because their craftsmanship is crap.
It’s all true! For the past 10 years, they’ve been driven by greed, I wish I bought before 2010! Thanks for watching! Aloha 🌺
I have been in Louis Vuitton store and I saw first hand anxious customers, horrible, I feel sorry for the S.A, but I have to said my experiences always has been very pleasant not just in the USA, and Europe too, I try to be nice and cordial and they respond the same way very very nice
I agree with you, I feel this should be the attitude anywhere: restaurants, shopping, grocery store, Walmart... Thanks for your comment!
Ewwww that makes me gag 🤢 Why is that allowed? The managers have got to say NO! Otherwise it continues!!! Thanks for sharing!
This is depressing 😕
Explains the last two bad experiences with the employees.
Just like I guessed... they’re not happy with their job.
Thanks for insight.
Too much pressure from the company 😕 I’m sorry you had bad experiences. Thanks for watching 💕
@@dialmstyle you’re welcome.
Hope you end up in a place you love and feel at your best. 🥰
Absolutely...I knew I wasn’t going to stay long. It was a distraction at the time, and a learning experience! 💕
Thank you so much! I definitely remember my wonderful clients 💕
I agree I worked in retail for 14, yes its brutal! I'm your new subs thank you for sharing your stories.
aimzky suba thank you so much! You are braver than me 😁 I’ve actually been in and out of retail since high school, and I love it, but this was my first time going full-time! It’s dramatically different than holding a part time job in retail!
@@dialmstyle thanks .working in retails for 14 years seen it all. customers are nasty! they have no clue what behind the scene. thank you and have a great weekend!
hello from Scotland, I really enjoyed your video!
haha the refill for perfume made me laugh :P
Hello in Scotland! Thank you so much for stopping by! Actually the "can I turn in my old bag?" is the funniest for me!! xo
@@dialmstyle Hope there is more story telling soon x
Thomas Talks thanks for the feedback, I have plenty of stories! 😆
😂😂😂 Your video is hilarious, some customers are crazy funny. I think my CA is very happy with me.
Lovelife ANDJOY thanks for your comment! I’m glad you enjoyed! 💕
Wow, that’s a good position to have and much less stress!
Great video! Very informative :) How much staff discounts did you get on bags?
Not enough to make it worth it! Video on that in the works!
Such an interesting video :)) thanks a lot!!!
I was laughing at some of this.. loved the video and I have no idea what type of card case you have but it’s sooooo cute!
rishaunikki32 lol thank you so much! 💕 the card case is Kate Spade with Minnie Mouse 😁
That’s disappointing to hear , I wud have expected more from lv , to treat there staff better
Thank you 💕
I learned something new today about LV. thanks for the video
0258rabbit thank you so much for your comment! I’m glad you found some good info! 😊
Thank you! I agree with you 💯 percent on everything!
That’s disheartening to hear for the low pay... at LV...typical Big brand store style of salary... and that’s why the quality of the LV bag went out the door.. so much demands. Glad your in your happy place now ❤️👍
Thank you so much for your comment 💕 I just did a video about why the price keeps going up, I hope you catch that one too!
This was very interesting. It's weird cause I feel like no one says hello to me when I go in.
It’s probably true! Thanks for watching!
They only say hi if you white.. so let’s not even start that conversation lol.
Just because we are in customer service means doesn’t mean we have seen it all therefore we know it all and can treat ourselves and others as less than
LV in New York City are paid just above the minimum wage! It is very sad.
Thanks for sharing.
😂😂😂 hilarious, and true about the self awareness, and it’s getting worse!
Thanks for sharing this. I never knew the commission is that low.
Oh my! Check out my video about the canvas policy and employee compensation...the commission is even lower since I left! Thanks for watching!
