You’re welcome, It took me a little while to learn at first, but soon enough it will become muscle memory :) so much so that you’ll start tapping on your iPad to undo things in other apps haha 🤪
Nice video. I'm excited to make my own patterns. I have a couple Procreate tips for you. While you're drawing your circle, you can hold a finger down and it will snap to a circle. You can do the same with lines and to make the circle fit the page, there is a button that says fit to page. Thanks for sharing
I need something this simple. At 61 I have been stumped how to get started. Thank you so,so much. You have put something important to my creativity within my grasp.
If there’s a spot you can’t see, you can go into the selection tool, click on freehand, making sure colourfill is turned off, then select what you want to keep, click on invert, then tap on layer to bring up the menu and press clear. Or you can swipe back and forth on the screen with 3 fingers. You can also get a perfect line or shape by pressing on the screen with one finger. 😊
Hi, I hope you don’t think I’m being intrusive because I commented on another one of your terrific videos and wanted to share another tip today 😊 When you’re in the ‘new canvas’ screen, you can select another plus ( + ) icon at the top right and it will allow you to create your custom canvas size immediately! I hope you find it helpful!
This was such a helpful video. I’d really like to create patterns with procreate so its helpful to watch a video specific to that. I hope you continue to share videos on designing with procreate and creating patterns in general. Thanks!
Thank you so much I am entering into embroidery business I know embroidery since childhood but some time you are blank right This is so helpful ❤thank you
Great tutorial! I've been trying to figure out how to create my own embroidery designs. This is such a great software and your instruction got me started. Thank you!
Very helpful video, thanks for sharing all the amazing tips! If you don't mind sharing, which ipad you used in this video? (What is the display's size?:D)
I'm terrible at drawing, so I've been making my patterns in Photoshop, but I knew there had to be an easier way. I was thinking about getting a wacom tablet, but now I'm seeing the ipads with Procreate. I don't have either - Did you invest in the ipad specifically for the business, or did you already have one? I'm just starting out, and wondering if it's worth investing that much money at this stage. Will be watching your future videos on it!
Oh nice, I’ve never tried photoshop before. I did not specifically invest in an iPad for my business, but rather was gifted an iPad mini that happened to tie perfectly into supporting and growing my business. I’m not sure exactly how much iPad’s are these days, but mine is a mini which is a lower cost and works great, though I’m sure some people would prefer the larger screen. You’ve seen my other videos and know how much I make from this business so eventually you could make that invested money back, but it would take a while 🙈 There are also other great ways to make patterns without an iPad, I plan on making a video in the future on that! Maybe get started selling what you’ve got using Photoshop and see how things go, how you are enjoying it, and then consider if selling is something you seriously want to pursue and invest in. Or another idea is start selling and wait until you’ve made enough from your business to invest without taking from your other income. Just some ideas. Wishing you the best on your journey!
@@saintrogersstreet Thanks for the response! That's handy you already had one. I actually went ahead and bought one 😬. I found a cheaper version (10.2", 9th gen) in open-box condition (ipad and pen) for just over $350. I figured worse case scenario it still has retail value and I could sell it if need be. But so far I'm playing with it and absolutely loving the potential I see in it. So thanks for the inspiration, and tips!
You said in the first few minutes that you’d make another video with alternative ways to make hand embroidery pdfs. Has that video ever been made? I’ve looked but can’t find anything!
You could totally use this pdf pattern to create a color guide or as a way to plan out your piece by previewing what colors might look best using the paint and color dropper in procreate!
You can make 6 and 8 inch patterns with the procreate app! I use an iPad mini 5th generation so it is smaller but it is still capable of scaling to these measurements. The only difficulty I come across is if I want to transfer a 8 inch hoop design from my iPad to my embroidery fabric, the hoop is wider than my iPad so I have to move it around a bit or use my laptop or window as a light box instead.
Like anything, I think drawing skills can get better with practice. The procreate app definitely helps make your lines much smoother and gives a quicker turnaround time when sketching as it is so easy to undo and retry. I wouldn’t say I’m great at drawing, but I can make little sketches and patterns in the procreate app no problem :) Before having an iPad I used to just create my patterns with paper and pencil, but the procreate app has helped so much with it, I definitely have room to learn and grow a lot though! Hope that helps :)
I wish I could attach a photo and send it here, but I can’t. If you go to the App Store and type in Procreate it should pop up, the icon is black and then it has a rainbow paint brush swipe on it, it also has an “editor’s choice” under it and the developer is Savage Interactive Pty Ltd. They also created another app called Procreate Pocket, you don’t want that one, just the black one that says Procreate. Hope this helps!
@@saintrogersstreet I missed the very first part of this video where it said you need an ipad...so now my husbands ipad has become my ipad haha, I have a chrome book. I hijacked his face so that I could purchase it. 😇
I think I'm going to have to come back and watch this multiple times. There is a lot of helpful hints in here. Thank you.

I use an IPad mini 5th generation. The display size is 7.9 inches (diagonal). It is small, but it works for me & has never been an issue :)

Hi after design , how to print the design, any tutorial
Yes, if you're wanting to print the design directly onto your fabric here's the tutorial! ruclips.net/video/FTyaWJHMRSk/видео.htmlsi=N_YwZbEzWraKHr6n
Can you use this this for embroidery machines…. Thank you!
I am not familiar with machine embroidery so I am not sure, sorry.

Is it ok with 6"hoop or 8"hoop?

Is it good for those who dont know drawing?

Is there an alternative to procreate? Unfortunately, it's too expensive for me at the moment.
I can’t tell if I’m searching for the right procreate app!
