My favorite packing cube tip- I take long cruises. On embarkation day I move cubes to drawers & stow suitcases under the bed. As I put away fresh laundered clothes I place them back in the correct cube. On the last day of the cruise, while everyone else is in their cabins packing up, I can place cubes back in my suitcase & go enjoy a drink on deck.
I love packing cubes. We use compression cubes. A few years ago my husband was randomly chosen for a bag search, when they opened his organized suitcase and saw the compression cubes the TSA agent thanked my husband for making his job easier and even called a couple other agents over to look at his bag! Yes, it was a proud moment for me (the person who actually packed his bag for that particular trip, lol) 😊
RUclips recommended this video to me, I clicked on it and was shocked when you said you only had 49 subscribers, because the quality is amazing, th dedication in the video clips (2:29 😂) and it all just seemed so professional...if you continue like this you will definitely gain more followers!!
What a kind comment. Thank you! I have been putting in the work so it is awesome to hear about you appreciating it. Thanks again! Hope you got some good packing cube tips as well.
I started using non-compression packing cubes in 2019, just for discretion during my frequent work trips, where it happens occasionally that I have to open my bag in front of customers. They look so nice and neat, and no danger of underwear dangling out. The organizing benefit was a big bonus, and just makes trips so much easier. I use them for all travel now. Four years ago, I went on a summer-long visit to a friend's house, so I bought an extra set to keep my stuff neat and under control in her house. I have a bunch of them now: some of them are mesh -- not my favorite (and not useful on those work trips)-- but most of them open on three sides, which is great. Honestly, I bought super cheap sets on Amazon, but they have all held up beautifully. One of the sets also came with a super lightweight and well organized toiletry bag in a perfect size for 2-3 day trips, as well as a structured cylindrical drawstring bag good. Another set came with lined shoe bags in addition to cubes of varying sizes. I love them all.
Appreciate the thoughtful and informative comment! I agree on the cheaper travel gear. When you can find something that is a quarter of the cost and it holds up for you that is such a win! Thanks for sharing your experience.
I’m definitely part of the packing cube side. Makes it easier for every person in the family to know where their things are. We mostly use the REI pacing cubes. Great video and production.
Thank you for the kind comment! I have not tried the REI packing cubes, but they obviously make great products. I will have to look into them. Yes, packing cubes for the family make a huge different. Thanks again for the support!
I’ve been using the Amazon Basics packing cubes for several years and I think they are good for organizing my stuff. For dirty laundry I use a large ziplock bag that I compress. I haven’t felt the need for compression bags because I travel very light.
Thanks so much! Put a fair amount of effort into this packing cube video so it is super nice to hear when people are enjoying it! Do you have a set of packing cubes that you really like?
We have a different color packing cube set for each of us. That way we know what belongs to who. We also use a large black packing cube for dirty laundry and it's one that can go in the wash with the dirty cloths so it is clean for the next trip. It is washable but I don't think it would work in a dryer so we air dry it. The one thing I would add to your VLOG tips is to fold dirty laundry just as you would the clean stuff. Folded cloths take up less space than unfolded cloths. If you don't believe me, try it both ways and you will see. Just subscribed to your channel. Can't wait to see more from you. Thanks.
Wow! A thought provoking, valuable comment and a subscribe. It does not get much better than that! Pumped to have you as a subscriber. Thanks for the packing cube tip! I love that idea. Yes folding the dirty clothes is a much better example on how to stay organized while traveling.
Just found your channel, looking forward to see more videos from you. ➡️Folding suggestion…do the “Ranger Roll” method, BUT instead of rolling it, fold it using the Kon Mari folding method…. 1. So start by folding up the bottom of your t-shirt 2 inches (watch a ranger roll video so this step makes sense). 2. Instead of rolling the T-shirt, fold it Kon Mari style. 3. Then finish by flipping the ranger roll 2” pocket you created earlier over your entire t-shirt. This way the T-shirt does not unravel. Its the best of both worlds if you like the Kon Mari style of packing. Personally I use Kon Mari on some clothes & ranger roll on others (like puffy jackets).
Wow! Thanks for the amazing packing cube tip. I have used the ranger roll before, but melding it with the Kon Mari method is amazing! Thanks again for the support!
Yes good point. I like packing cubes for most trips, but if it is a quick weekend trip you can usually get away without used them. Thanks for commenting and supporting the channel.
I’m Team Compression, but I do have one long, narrow non compression size. If it’s a loose pack, the three long narrow rectangles fit perfectly. If I’m trying to get a bit more in, compression. My compression is baggail, too. I became subscriber 303, from the 303!
Appreciate the comment and the subscribe! Working hard to build the channel and people like you keep me motivated. Thank you. Team compression packing cube for sure! Interesting piece about the long narrow ones. If they fit well in your suitcase or pack that is what it is all about. Thanks again!
I don't think they save much space in my experience, although vacuum bags do. I do love the organisation they offer. I've found from the cheapest Daiso 300 yen to mid-range Osprey to highish-end Patagonia ones they are all reliable and it come's down more to feature, design and material. The only ones I'm not convinced by are Peak Designs packing cubes. It's not that they are bad, but at least in my eyes, they didn't seem high quality when compared to their bags and straps.
Thanks for watching and commenting on this video also! Really appreciate it. I agree on the Peak Design packing cubes. Super expensive when it comes to travel gear. Some people rave about them though. I will have to try to Patagonia ones! Thanks again for the support!
Great video! I'm subscriber #200! It seems like a waste to buy regular packing cubes when there are compression ones. Why wouldn't you get the one with the most benefit? One travel tip I like to do is to pack clothes or items that you want to dispose of. Then you can just dispose/recycle the items there and you won't need to bring it back with you or wash. Then you have more room to fill those packing cubes with new items you may want to bring home!😁
200! Nice milestone. Thanks a ton for the support. Really appreciate it. I agree the compression packing cubes are worth it in my opinion. A thoughtful comment and a great packing tip!? Wow, thank you. Love that idea. A few old shirts you want to donate? Just pack them up and give them one last wear. Always feels good to come back home with a little more room in the packing cubes. Might have to use that tip in a future video. Thanks again!

There are compression packing cubes that open up wide with mesh from bagsmart. They are in the middle price segment.
I will have to check out the bag smart packing cubes! Thanks for watching and commenting!

I use a combo of packing cubes, compression and not with folding loose for bigger items It really depends on trip and bag I am using

Instead of the Marie Kondo method, I use the fold and tuck into the created pocket method.
I will have to check that out. Thanks for watching and commenting!

Always with cubes , normal and compression
Always cubes...I agree! Thanks for watching and commenting.
