My equal first album of all-time, along with The Dreaming. Perhaps Hounds of Love gets the edge because I had the privilege of seeing Kate perform all but two of these songs live in 2014.
It is a gorgeous, lush and emotional album. The contrast between Side A's amazing pop melodies and The Ninth Wave's art pop, experimental effects and incredible soundscapes is what ties this album together so well. Kate Bush is simply amazing.
Kate. This is one of my all time favorite albums and is Special to me. I bought this album in 1985. I was 20 years old when it came out and a couple of years after my father died from cancer. Only to discover that my mother was sick from breast cancer. I have loved Kate Bush since 1978 when i saw her on SNL perform on their second season. When I bought this album in 1985, this is how I Felt. Especially The Ninth Wave. Objectively I still think it's a Masterpiece. Thanks Kate! And thank you Shawn for a wonderful channel!✌️❤️🍏
Rodney 😢 that's really sad I'm sorry brother. Dude i Love Kate Bush ❤ . Back in the early nineties in my early 20s my girlfriend and her friends would surround me singing wuthering heights arms waving around Heathcliff it's me it's Cathy oh oh oh 😂. They'd do it to me when we were on the piss getting drunk 😡🤬 it would annoy the hell out of me. What a Dumbass 😮 surrounded by young punk rocker chick's dancing and I'd be annoyed
Kate's voice ❤️😍 she's amazing. Shawn my bro have you ever heard of NINA HAGEN? She's very different like Bjork is unique she is a one of a kind! Another tiny European lady with a POWERFUL UNIQUE VOCAL ❤
This album is "WOW!" I listened to it along with you. I haven't heard it in literally 30 years, but I remembered every little noise and nuance. It's easily a 9/10. Check out the video for "Cloudbusting." It features Kate as the boy and Donald Sutherland as the father.
One of the greatest Art Rock albums of all time. All music lovers and music reactors need to make the trip through "Hounds Of Love" someday. ;) I'm glad you were able to spend time with KB, Shawn. You'll have to force Trey to listen too, hee hee.
Great to hear your in depth and always well considered reaction. I became a fan of KB the moment I heard 'Wuthering heights' when it came out. As an older Brit, I think we are quite receptive to quirky and 'arty' music as we were exposed to such a fantastic array of it growing up and KB is very much of that type. I've enjoyed all of her work and 'Hounds..' is a 9.5/10 for me. For me she's very much like Bowie in that they both follow their own path, not afraid to experiment and talk about people, themes and ideas that are way over my head but I just revel in the mystery of it all! Cheers
Cycclops60 I'm picking from the 60 you're in ya 64th year🤔? Come on man that's not too old 😊. Just hold on to some immatureity and do stupid funny stuff (be careful) otherwise ya might end up on a surgical waiting list like me 😮😅😂. It's in ya heart have fun
@ReactionsToTheClassics the birds are going off today Tuis singing and chasing eachother around they are beautiful little birds and very Loud LOVE THEM. About the size of a small black bird/Thrush
First time in full for me, and yeah, that second side is incredible, but I can understand your difficulty in grading the overall album, reckon that score's not far off though! Oh, and you expressed surprise that Kate hadn't performed the title track prior to those 2014 dates, but in fact she hadn't performed ANYTHING since her previous live shows...in 1979! So those gigs were massively anticipated, sadly a Marillion fan I know turned up one night with their tickets...only to discover they were actually for the night before...eek (and no, there was no happy ending to that story!). Speaking of Marillion (as is my daily task) Steve H regularly performs Cloudbusting in his solo shows, so that's the song I knew second best on here, behind the obvious!
ruclips.net/video/2rqZfTJN7d8/видео.htmlsi=yBpwj_j8XMSjgUEe Kia ora hello brother hay above is the Aotearoa new zealand alternative national anthem 😊😅😂 . this isn't for a reaction just a bit of fun it's The Gumboot song by Fred Dagg (John Clark) r.i.p 😢 Daggs are the poopy 💩bits of wool around a sheeps bum 🐑 😍. I own a pair of cherry red 10 up Doc's three pairs of gumboots high tops just below my knees another pair of high tops with steel caps and a pair just above ankle height without steel caps and no shoes.
