    Hi everyone! 🖖 😀
I can't believe I'm in first place! What a surprise! That I shared with my family, we were all at work but we watched the live at the same time and it was really a special moment, we even celebrated with our customers, it was really great! Thank you so much for this and for your feedback!
I had decided that with this contest, I would step out of my comfort zone, and it paid off! It allowed me to tackle the subject of production and mixing, which I had no idea how it all worked. Anyway, I'm really glad you liked it!
I just wanted to say to everyone who took part, congratulations! It's always hard to get out anything in this profession, and on top of that to be in "competition" with others, and yet we did it!
I've learned a lot thanks to this, and I'm sure you did too!
So, once again, thank you very much everyone! See you on the next one! 🥳 🎉
Sorry about the Miss Universe speech, but I'm very grateful! 😁 👌

Just listened to the recorded version and enjoyed the entries...BTW I accidentally listened to entry #6 on 1.5x speed and it was a WILD ride. I recommend everyone give it a listen at that speed. You won't be disappointed. It definitely enhances the train robbery vibes. 😂
I've never composed anything but I'm always composing songs in my head. What program is typically recommended for doing these orchestrations? Is there a specific sound pack that is popular? I think I may try writing something for the next competition.

Try number 3 too lol. (I mean number 3 on the list not in the final prizes)

For composing you need a daw, like logic, flstudio, cubase, reaper or what ever. Libraries are many available. Spitfire Audio has some good ones, but there are many others. And a midi keyboard helps a lot. Its not needed but makes composing a lot easier.

This was another enjoyable competition to listen to and watch, thanks Ryan...I love the variety of interpretations and intelligent critique. My personal favorite was the Lonesome Cowboy...also, did Chris call A minor innocent??? I would love to see a list of Chris's interpretation of every key!

Saddleback Rider by Blue Lava sort of reminded me of something I'd hear in a Kirby game. 😄 The last track made me think of blues with a mix of a cowboy style theme.

Did not agree…….Congratulatons to William, the winner, the other finalists and everyone who participated! I‘ve listened to many many entries and I‘ve stumbled across a lot of great works. : if one of the criteria is production value I personally can‘t really understand the final decision… Don‘t get me wrong, everyone has his/her own preferences, but I simply cannot fully agree with the choosen pieces. I just feel like the winners composition leads nowhere, neither harmonically or melodically. But as I mentioned, that‘s only my opinion.

I only have the option to see this in 360P quality, not sure why.

If anyone comes from Bavaria, they'll understand:
The beginning of number 15 sounds like something out of an Eberhofer crime movie.

How do you say "I'll drink to that." In Bavarian German? My late Grandmother always said that in English, I've wondered how it's said in Bavarian German.
      Thanks :)

Did not agree with their choice at all.

They definitely seem to prefer very modern sounds and production over traditional orchestral compositions. That’s not my taste, but I guess it’s worth knowing the judges preferences when you start a composition.

@@eosborne6495 Yeah, I think they're quite biased to live acoustic instruments too (which is totally fine) and the harmonica was a great choice, but in this case, a lot of the instruments really were not recorded well.
The winner had noticeable noise, pops, and other mixing issues. And considering that production quality is one of their judging criteria, I would expect that to be an issue. To me it just sounded amateur compared to the others.
I also just don't think it fit the prompt, I think it could've worked if the illustration was a bunch of cowboys outside of a saloon or surrounding a campfire, but those canyons to me implied some grand adventure, and that song really just didn't go anywhere, or have some strong recurring theme that would imply that story of adventure.

@@user-kx5fs9jy1g well you can’t account for differences in taste, and I did really enjoy the winning entry. One thing I do take away from this is that I will try to include more non conventional instruments in my next compositions and I will try to mix them really crisp and compressed so that it pops out sonically. That seems to be a winning strategy.
