    Thanks for the whole experience! It was really fun to compose for a stand-alone piece and listen to how other participants approach their pieces. Also “Trees on Steroids” probably would’ve won if this is solely based on title and I stand by this lol XD

    I’ve been looking forward to this all month! Eventually I’m going to learn Ableton and join one of these. One of the coolest things on RUclips right now.

    Congratulations to all of the finalists, and especially the runners up and the winner Jacob de Graaf. You all made wonderful pieces. And thank you to the judges, whose discussion and comments was so educational for me.

    Very late to this party, but this was so awesome.

    I loved all the entries in this. Though funnily enough watching this I wondered if some of the entries were too "glorious" sounding. The village in the picture seemed quite rustic and Shire-like, while a lot of the songs brought to mind something more of a Minas Tirith or Rivendell feel.

    "A Place to Lay Your Head" is really lovely. Some of the phrasing reminded me (very pleasantly) of the first movement of the Debussy Sonata for flute, viola, and harp.

    @Ryan Leach When you go to the scenes to play the music entries and zoom into the picture; I would shift the Main square muse image to the left or right all the way, place your 4 judges squares on top of each other in the space to the left or right that would be created and place the Song Title at the top, above the muse image. This could help with image obstructions and enhance immersion.

    Such a joy to listen to this. One thing that stands out to me, especially given the winner, is perhaps there should be separates contests for live vs sampled instruments, esp. if the judges concur the live will outshine the sample most of the time, i.e they have the clear advantage from the get-go.

    • @RyanLeach
      @RyanLeach  2 года назад +1

      It's a tricky situation with a lot of variants, because even with sampled instruments there's paid vs free. And in the case of the winner I think there were only two live players and then everything else sampled, so is that a third category?

      @@RyanLeach Hmm, yeah guess I understand your point and the situation you are in with the contest, makes sense ... easy for me to say sittin back here on my side of the computer I guess :). Thanks for the reply. I am seriously enjoying this series no doubt so thank you for putting it together!
