    Most important band going today. I don’t even care if they’re “metal”..They transcend the genre. That’s when you have something special.

      Exactly! I love when bands or musicians in general have a lot of influences in their music and have a distinct sound to them that you can't label it anymore. Like Diamanda Galás, Igorrr, Cattle Decapitation, Babymetal, Nightwish, and ofcourse Jinjer.

    As a bald guy... the "and Vlad's hair looks good too" cracked me up. I've seen Jinjer twice at small venues (sub 1000 people) and they are AMAZING!! I had the opportunity to meet them all and Eugene and I actually had a great conversation. To your point... he's an amazingly genuine dude.

    53 years old and love this band! I think the reaction community has really helped boost my exposure to bands like Jinjer, Spiritbox, Unleash the Archers, etc. Thank goodness for that because I otherwise wouldn't have heard music from such amazing bands! Cannot wait to see Jinjer at Toads in November! My son and I are going to do the meet and greet as well. Looking forward to a great show!

    You're absolutely right! I'm 44 and I've never listened to such kind of music. Till now) There's something really special about "Jinjer" music that attracts lots of people loving different genres of music. And thanks to Jinjer I came across someone's reaction to the band named "Calligula's Horse". Progressive metal. Their 2017 album "In Contact" just literally blew my mind. Now I'm their fan too) Music unites people. That's it!-) Greetings from Russia!

Please know that I love Jinjer but I am so sceptical as to how they're going to pull this off live, such intricacies! In this video: Eugene's bass is a custom Overload Achilles headless bass, Roman's guitar is an OD Venus, and, of course, Vladi's drums are by Tama, cymbals by Zildjian.

  • @quentin580
    @quentin580 3 года назад +2

    Vlad is the backbone of this group, his drumming is so multidimensional and adds so many layers. Eugene's bass of course is so groovy and technical but the drumming is honestly next level.

    • @Phix75

    I was at work when this popped up on my phone, and I immediately put in my headphones and within a minute I was grooving. Even though I didn't like what I was doing at work, that song instantly improved my mood. I love this stuff, it's so rewarding to figure it out and hear the intricacies. Listening to it this time, I picked up on a nice subtle change in the final phrase (dunno if that's the right word) of that opening breakdown that leads into the verse.

    I can not believe I almost wrote them off as a novelty after hearing Picses and thinking hur durr. female screamer with some vocal effects.... I am SOOO glad I kept listening to more, though. Jinjer and Mastodon are my two favorite bands out there right now. And I was not exactly a metal head either. Both bands have blown me the fuck away.

  • @brien7351
    @brien7351 3 года назад +1

    Ain't about age at all. The last band that had me so excited was Mr.Bungle 30 years ago, I was 28. They gave me chills just like Jinjer do now. Their talent is other-worldly and I was raised on Classic Rock, Blues and Jazz, then punk and metal and by 1990 Bungle blew me away and completely opened me up musically. I can now suffer screaming from other singers but Tatiana's growls are somehow relatable and cathartic and with her various techniques in altering her pitch it's just fascinating to hear. This is an emotional release and it feels awesome. As a former pro drummer past his prime, this is one of the most satisfying bands out there and I wish them a long career.

    🔥Great reaction, David! Love Jinjer and Mediator! Tatiana is incredible as always, the whole band is incredible as always! Love Tatiana's lyrics here:
    "Wish I could catch god by the beard
    And drag him to the dirty streets
    To show him what was going on
    The kind of curse we've waged upon"
    Rightfully angry at the state of the world and those who brought us to this point (the gods if you believe in any, otherwise the capitalist ruling class).
    Between the cross made of diamonds and her hand gesture indicating money during the last line, "what do we have to do to get a piece of you", I think she's talking about how money is the god of that ruling class.
    Thank you always, David, for bringing more fantastic Jinjer music to more people! ❤🖤🤘

      It’s funny how little I think of the labels of styles of music. My first reaction is always guy reaction. If it moves me, I’m in. The thinking comes later, if at all. I listen like a fan, always have.

      @@MusicShed I’m with you on labels. Growing up for me metal was Poison and Ratt, kind of joke bands. Jinjer is definitely the highest quality of musicianship, and I can’t wait to see them live!

    - Black Veil Brides
    - Coheed and Cambria
    - Wage War
    - Lorna Shore
    - Alien Weaponry
    - Don Broco
    - Crown The Empire
    - Ice Nine Kills
    - Trivium
    and it goes on and on and on hahahahaha

    I think one of the main reasons why are they "so one" is because Vlad mostly composes all their music by himself. They told about that on stream.

    • @Phix75
      @Phix75 3 года назад

      Hmm, I think that's the case on this forthcoming album. Eugene mentioned it in an interview (80% Vlads composition) not so sure about what came before.

    I know people who do music reviews feel inclined to say good things about every song even ones they may not care for,
    And hiatus kaiyote is acquired taste but pleeeese break down “rose water” off their new album next. So much going on 😭

    what about some reactions on the new lorna shore stuff like to the hellfire or even the whole new EP, which is great. Or even the music with CJ, prior to the new tracks; Immortal und Darkest Spawn are my 2 fav's. ? Would be nice to see what you have to say about some very heavy music.

    everything about jinjer is amazing, but i wanna say find their lyrics interesting in contrast with other metal. many metal bands just scream horror related themes for shock value. tatiana sings about things that could make anyone angry, or mental illness... emotions and stress that are common and are very relatable. the songs use harsh vocals for a reason
