    I have a friend who moved there 5 years ago from Michigan and he absolutely regrets it. The hurricanes, the humid hot weather, the overall tackiness, not much to love.He’s stuck there now taking care of his wife’s sick mother but they can’t wait to get out once they are able.

      We are originally from Indiana, I do miss the summers there but couldn’t stand the cold from October - April. I got a sunburn today at the Mardi Gras parade. I’ll take it! 😂

    Same here. Visited FWB area and fell absolutely in love. I plan to move there in 2 years once my last kid is done in high school. I want a simple basic life near the ocean.

    I’m living in Alaska, and considering moving around Pensacola, as I have family around that area. Plus I’m a veteran, and looking at doing a transfer. Here cost are double than the lower 48 states. Rains all the time on Kodiak island.

      @@LivingontheEmeraldCoastFlorida but that’s not the same as a hurricane. When you say storm some flatlander in Kansas or wherever is gonna think big scary spinny thing. I live nearby in Tallahassee. Other than that your video was generally spot on and informative. Welcome to the Panhandle!

      I would just say it rains a butt-ton the even if it’s not a hurricane/tropical storm. Destin and Walton tend to be drier. 30A is more family friendly.

      Yeah. But you live in northern Michigan. I went through the winters there. Wearing shorts today and it's 70 degrees in Feb. I'll take that all day over ice fishing. ❄️

    Great video, I vacationed again for the first time in almost 25 years in PCB last August. I stayed at the motel to the left in your video at the 4:46 mark. It looked better online when looking for a fully wheelchair accessible motel but it worked perfect. Now I wish I tried Capt Jacks. I was one of the Lavela party people back in 95, 96 and 99 during spring break. A lot has changed but I still dream of living by the beach. For now I'll have to just continue to visit. The water on the gulf is so pretty compared to the Atlantic side.

    I lived in South Florida for years. Put a beach towel over your car seat to keep it cooler. Throw a smaller towel over the steering wheel when you park so it stays cooler.

    From my experience florida is actually cooler than California in the summer. In florida it only get to the mid 90s California gets over 100. What makes florida seem hotter is the humidity. After awhile youll get used to the weather. Id rather live there than in California. Also it depends where your at in florida when it comes to the traffic. Its much better than California i can tell you that.

    • @jaengen
      @jaengen 6 месяцев назад

      Over 100 in California? Nope it depends on where you live. Along the coast it rarely gets that hot. You are talking about the desert and interior.

    • @janusn9
      @janusn9 6 месяцев назад

      Definitely gets that hot in most of ca. I used to live in Redding and summer there was terrible. I dount it gets that hot in Arcada or San Fran, but the valley does and bakersfield is a horrible place whoch you must never go to simba. Lol
