First I discovered narcissism and was shocked to realise I had been surrounded by them my entire life. Then I discovered what codependancy was and was even more shocked to discover I carried many of those traits too. A while back after being single for almost two years I met a woman quite by chance. We went on a couple of dates and I was really focussed on seeing if she was narcissistic or not. Today we are happily building our lives together. There isn't anything magical about it and sometimes it can be hard work but I swear as long as you can communicate openly and honestly it is possible to grow and flourish. Side note - she also comes from a narcissistic family and had a few codependant traits herself. But on that front she was already more mature than me and I don't think we would have got together if I hadn't already been on the recovery path myself. Another great video. Peace!
Yep, this was me all the way back at age 6. I'm in my early 40s now, and I still haven't fully shaken it. Intellectually, I know that there's no prince charming and that being single is not an indication that something is wrong with me. However, on a heart level, I wish more than anything that someone amazing would love and adore me that way and prove to me that I'm actually a worthwhile human.
Really good. Especially the part about what meaning used to entail and the key about emotional trauma or neglect in childhood being at the root of magical romantic thinking. The whole world is a fake illusion. My mam lived ina time . That everything was romanticised . She looked at all the old films and old songs like life lived that way . Everything was based on a lie. I now have found my happiness in God . He was the one I was looking for all my life . And little did I know he was with me all the time . Thanks for your advice .I wouldn’t be Here now . In my experience my self proclaimed soul mate was far from such after about a month the idealization period was over and gone into the torment of devaluation and multiple disengagements get out early do not stay 💯❤️🙏🙌
