I really loved Maxxxine! The criticism of it has been really confusing for me honestly. This third movie in the trilogy felt like the perfect follow up to X and Pearl.
@@PurpleLittlePup I believe the same!!! I’ve noticed people have become more attached to the “Pearl” character as she differs from most ‘Final Girls’ in the fact that she’s more psycho/ villainized but still painted in a way that you can empathize for her. I think they expected Maxine to follow in Pearl’s footsteps. But that’d only lead her to the same demise which could be an darker sequel but I love that they decided no, that’s been done. And ultimately gave Maxine a strong drive + determination to lead her to success ⭐️
Preach. People just werent expecting Body Double, Angel. Vice Squad and Savage Streets in a blender. Im willing to bet all the stuff people found messy was done on purpose.
i loved this video ! i personally found maxxxine to be the weakest in the trilogy because of a few small things but i still LOVED it and agree with all of your points ! i think the other two were just nearly flawless for me and i had a few Little bones to pick with this one. i saw a lot of people complaining about the killer being "obvious" but honestly while i was really Hoping it would be her dad i was suspecting howard too lol. i don't want to yap too much so i'll end this hear but really enjoyed hearing your thoughts - this is definitely one of my favorite franchises and i've been starved for Positive content on this movie so this is just what i needed. will definitely have to check out your other videos :-33 . again sorry for the long comment
.❤.... I loved Maxxxine too. Of course I'm extremely partial to the 1980s, as I was a little 10 year old boy and 10 years old and clearly remember when Richard Ramirez was out there killing. As well as all the music of that period!
@@stefanross8129 I love how accurate Ti West got it especially since he’s a child of the 80’s! Just amazing to hear people who lived during that time being taken back through this film! ❤️
I've been seeing too much slander. It's my least favorite of the trilogy but it's still so good and so fun. My only big complaint is that we didn't get to know any of the characters well except obviously Maxine. I was really hoping the killer would be her dad. Yes the scene where he tries and exorcise her is a little silly but overall I still ate it up.
@@cartergames2742 exactly i agree!!! i think it’s gotten too much slander since they expected it to be more dark and bleak as Pearl was and they fell in love with her character over the past few years but im so glad it’s ended on a light note. 🤍
@@jabbersjay6871 yea i know but they call him “night stalker” on all the news channels in the movie which was a real life serial killer from the same time frame as this movie.

Fun fact, gators are quite long-lived so it COULD be the same gator. :)
@@jon_the_guanlong i thought so too but also they did show Theda’s eggs in Pearl so it does show that she did have children!
5:24 its her dad not the night stalker
@@miseriabelle6843 i reveal that later bc The Night Stalker is her dad.

It wasn’t the night stalker. It was her dad
