- The Pressley Girls were born and raised in Brasstown, North Carolina. They are an authentic Appalachian duet that focuses on tight harmony and lyrical meaning.
The Pressley Girls perform a wide range of music including Folk, Bluegrass, Gospel, and Country. Admiring The Louvin Brothers, classic country singers, and traditional folk musicians, they hope to bring transcendent genuine music back to the world.
Corie Pressley plays the guitar and mandolin while singing harmony with her sister, Katie, who plays the fiddle while singing lead.
The preacher asked me, son? do you know the name of the lord? I said ya! His name is Andy! The preacher said, oh really? I said ya, It's in the song, Andy walks with me, Andy talks with me... ;-)
Love you girls, thank you for making my evening special. You both are wonderful.
So great to see young people being enamored with our past.....❤🎉👀🔥 👉😁👈

Very nice music thank you, ladies. I agree when you play you have to concentrate. I am a poker face when I play and also I can't talk and play too. You guys are likely like myself in that you play by ear.
You girls are very interesting ,pretty entertaining ,i imagine down.in carolina home town people appreciate you 👧
The Old Grey Cat...The earliest sound recording of the reel is by Scottish melodeon player Frederick James Cameron (1883-1949, Elgin), who (as "W.F. Cameron") recorded it in January, 1910.
Love you girls xx
Reminds me of the kitchen parties my Nanny would have in her home in Glace Bay Nova Scotia.

I loved this! The Brasstown song is wonderful. Have you girls heard of the Irish band The High Kings? They do the "Red is the Rose" song. My sister and brother-in-law are good friends with one of the fellows in the band. My favorite song they do is Caledonia (an ancient name for Scotland).
I absolutely am a big fan of you girls and your Uncle Paul.
A very special performance, thank you for sharing your phenomenal vocal and instrumental talents!

You ladies are over the top. I love al of your music and commentary. In the Garden was special because it is also a favorite of mine. Thanks for sharing your life. P.S I have no grapes of nails. Love to the families.
When the vid first started I noticed the background stage equipment then the red water bottle, which registered as a fire extinguisher, thinking, their playing and singing is so hot... then I noticed the blue water bottle... "Hot" would be an understatement regarding your exemplary performances. God bless you all. Love, CA

Hi Presley girls. I have seen your Mom and yourselves teaching Appalachian vocabulary. Grandma taught me these terms when I was a child. As a musician, I am glad to see you are embracing your heritage. As a teen, I was more interested in being cool and was embarrassed by my WV mountain background. Now I know what cool is and you ARE cool. I play these traditional folk songs and love them. Thanks for being yourselves and not turning your back on your heritage and culture. Bless you both and your Mom. I like your style.
Daniel Coleman
Great job ladies. I listened to it twice hoping to hear 'Danny Boy.' 💚☘️
Great job Girls I love the old songs And enjoy music.God Bless you all
Its a Scottish tune made into an Irish song. You will get that a lot over here. The Irish will take a Scottish song and take the tune and make it Irish by changing the lyrics but keeping the tune and visa versa the Scots will take an Irish song and make into a Scotish song
Yes, because they are called Scottish-Irish blooded people like me. They are descendants are half and half Scottish and Irish.
davidjackson-xg8hq .....when irish music was first starting out in the late 50s (the clancies). due to their limited repertoire adopted many scots and english sangs at the time(a know because a was around then. i.e....seven drunken nights/the wild rover/maries weddin/tell me ma/raggle taggle gypsy/black velvet band and many more. irish sang use many scottish melodies i.e red is the rose from loch lomond/ hills of connemara from coulters candy/ the road to carlough from the road and the miles to dundee(bob dylan uses the same melody in the sang the walls of redwing, he also uses the melody from the scottish sang farewell to tarwathie in his sang farewell angelina). many more. there are 100s of scottish fiddle reel tunes in ireland some in america. personally a don''t know of any irish tunes/sangs that came from ireland into scotland. many modern irish sangs are scottish.
Islanders too easily draw a distinctive line between each other... We may as well draw that line between each brother and sister. Everyone is absolutely unique in so many ways
@@debracramer1251yes and then there are Just scottish and them Just Irish not everyone is Scots -Irish.
More! More! More!

Found your channel after watching your mom's channel for a bit. I'm in middle Tennessee, so not that far from your family. Love the music and the ever day life that you all show us about Appalachian life. I grew up with Parents, Grandparents and even a Great Grand Mother around and I can relate to the priceless memories you girls talk about in your videos. Love watching and listening to your channel.

Way Cool! You two ladies are so talented! Thanks for posting! WOOHOO!

Ya'll are absolutely amazing! Enjoyed this show!

This should be your theme song, as Flatt & Scruggs' was Salty Dog Blues! And Katie, your vocal on Way Back in the Hills was PRIMO!

They're really charming aren't they?
Youve probably heard this before..but the lovely katie is definatrly the louder voice..Corie ..you wont be able to quieten her..so..maybe sing louder..referring to the song at 35 mins..great song too..oh.and

You too are talented and funny. A pleasure to watch and listen to. Been many years since I was in WCU area. Thanks for the show.
😍💞
These girls are good, they fit onto what I feel is old fashion country music. From the mountains even us country folks can appreciate. Did they go to college yet? If so where did they go? May God bless them and their parents!
Beautiful girl! Just loved this! Please share, what brand shoes you are wearing? Earth? Birk? 🥰🥰🥰
Hey ladies have either of you had opportunity to listen to or play a hurdy gurdy
The duck joke is a song too. It'll stick in yer head!
Corie, could you tell me what model Taylor your playing? You and Katie sound great together!
I have a correction to make on my previous comment. My family called themselves Scotch-Irish.
Thank you wonderful presentation where do I sign up for your fan base
Do you have any CD’s that you sell I love this music let me know.
The tune is scottish. It's called Bonnie Bonnie Banks of Loch Lomond. The tune is,Originally scottish. Not Scots-Irish.
8:20 same tune as "What do you with a drunken sailor" well done, no wait I heard a couple differences. never mind
der kleine lord
Is that a violin or a viola?
How come y’all didn’t try for American got talent
I know you two probably get people telling you what you need to sing, have you ever sang "Grandpa" by the Judd's.
