Today, we show you how to make one of Korea's favorite Summer soups called Dak Hanmari. In Korea, it translates to one whole chicken! The broth is simple but incredibly deep-and-soothing. It's popular during the summer to replenish the energy you lose by sweating... and sweating...and sweating.
Today, we'll accompany our soup with Chef Baek Jong Won's incredibly-tasting dipping sauce. And then use the leftover chicken broth to make a bowl of Kalguksu noodles. Sounds amazing no?

I love how everything you make looks homemade and easy for me to follow. I know a lot of cooks on here go all out trying to make pretty videos and make their food look like works of art, but I'm not here for that. I just wanna eat it, not display it lol. Your videos always look like everyday home cooking, and I appreciate it so much. I also adore the both of you, you're so real.
I usually don't comment on videos, but I follow you for quite a long time.
I am really attached to Korea and gastronomy, so your videos are really special to me.
To much information, but I struggle with anxiety and the really positive, friendly style helps me a lot with that too!
Greetings from Hungary :)
i will need Dak-Hanmari in my life! i'm getting a year older tomorrow and i need all this extra energy for all the challenges that will come in my way this year and the next year too! Thank you very much for the recipe
"whoops let me swap to a bigger bowl!" 😂 I'm so glad I'm not the only one who does that!
I need to make this, my mouth started watering at the description and I was nearly dead by the end 😂
may sound a little weird but your giggles are kinda nice lmao im sorry if i say anything uncomfortable. i really like your recipes though,.. been watching your channel for a year now hehe
You make me think of a really nice and relatable uncle! You're super fun and also give good advice! Thank you!
This looks delicious and comforting for winter, perfect for moi down in Melbourne. Thanks.
'what do I think?'. I think that before finding your channel only half of my tastebuds were activated 😏 I really enjoy what you do. Don't change a single thing
I love when you do soup dishes! Please more!!!
I love the 닭한마리 in 신촌 too~ it's always the first meal i wany when I've been away from Korea. but i just moved to 구리시 so this will be a must make at home! Thanks for the great recipe as awlays~

I’ve been wanting to make this! Thanks for making it simple, creative, and fun!
Okay, so for the rare trip to the store these days (in the US...still in lockdown), I will go to H Mart tomorrow to procure the ingredients! I can’t wait to dip!

I really like your cooking videos and recipe cause it simple and looks so delicious sometimes creative too
Dan-yul! Thank you for teaching me to rinse off the flour from kalguksu - this whole time I’d always hate eating it at home cuz I’d be like “why does this taste so different/bad??” 🤔🤔🤔 Mystery solved!
I love these meal videos where the ending always involves carbs. Please show us more of these and what the koreans are eating these days? What’s hawt rn?
hey neighbor, I've been watching the hell out of your videos and I'm going to go to my local korean market on thursday to pick up gulbi, bulgogi beef, some mushrooms, noodles, mul, perilla, soft tofu, korean chillis, and so many more. It's awesome that a lot of the ingredients preserve well and are so comforting. What's even more awesome is that your recipes are so delicious looking and your content is inspiring. Thank you, neighbor. I'm glad to be a part of your community.
Looks yummy, Ive already printed out a few recipes and looks like this is another
This made my mouth water! Looks so delicious! I have to try and make this! 👍🏽
I tried your recipe and my family loved the meal! 😃
This looks so good...and we love different hot pots and soups we can have on the table like this.
Noice! As always! And the Choice of Music? On the spot!
Thank you soo much for all your great recepies! Brings Korea to Norway ❤️❤️❤️
I love that there is often two parts to eating asian soups/stews--once you finish the soup/stew they hit you with noodles or rice to soak up the broth! If you aren't prepared part two is painful 😂 But still sooo delicious!
Hahahahaha I love this episode!
I want to cook now, looks so fresh chicken soup 😀😃
HELL YEA. I'M THE 1K LIKE!!! Anyways love your videos

The food look really good😔
Thanks~ give it a shot at home!
Well well well
Im hungry now
Haha can't watch YT food videos at night
@@FutureNeighbor yeah.....seriously your recipe make me more hungry even if i just had my meal
Instead of throwing away the onions you can put them into a blender with a little bit of stock from the soup to use it as a thickener.
おいしそ〜😱💓
Wanna try ! What’s that song in 30 sec? I like that!
I love this dish. 😁
I make similar at home but I roasted it in the oven first. Have you tried that?
Omg those tampuki things, I remember eating them in China in a Korean place, so good, sadly, there is none in my country 😭
probably the ingredient i miss the most is also the simplest: spring onion. Where I live they're almost impossible to find for some reason, alot of places sell something they _call_ spring onions but they're just basic green onions/scallions and not the thick flavorful spring onions like Koreans get. Why can I find marijuana and guns easier than spring onions? Madness.
When you listed the ingredients here it reminded me of the meme/infamous video of the lady pouring "one shot of vodka"
What is this one? Send me a link - i would like to see hah
@@FutureNeighbor ruclips.net/video/hdiBG_TYZHA/видео.html
@@FutureNeighbor it was apparently 2 shots but still. You don't know this one? you must have been in korea too long already brah!
I freaking love that video lmao
SO TWO SHOTS OF VODKA!
*continues pouring till bottle is completely empty*
I’ve never seen ganjang gejang and I live in nyc.. that’s also something you can’t find outside of Korea!!
The US has alot of really dumb food safety laws that make it hard to find stuff like authentic ganjang gejang. I had some once but it was brought over by Asian family members who are expert food smugglers.
For your recipes, when you say vinegar what type do you use? Brown rice?
Shyne2947 yes we use brown rice vinegar :)
Can we use soju or beer instead of rice wine ??
can we add a bit soy sauce to the soup ..I guess it will taste bland to me as m Indian... so any suggestions to make it more flavourful?
Joonie's lost passport in Norway
It seems the soup is meant to be a clean light broth, I guess just have an assortment of super flavourful sauces on the side to dip the different items from the soup into! YUM
@@lazypuck yeah ...I get it ..but my mom won't it if it's cooked this way ..that's why ... maybe I will lightly sear the chicken a bit before adding to the broth
Awesome
Best dipping mix sauce Recepi (A) 1. Light soy sauce. 2. Green onion chopped. 3. Parsley chopped. 4. Fried garlic & fragrant oil. Recepi (B)-Chilli Sauce 1. Sukiyaki bottle chilli sauce (1-2 tbsp), 2. Ayamas Bottle chilli sauce (1-2 tbsp) 3. Light soy sauce (1-2 Tbsp) (C) 1. Dark Soy Sauce. 2. Mince Garlic (fresh) 3. Fried Garlic (Fried Golden Brown) 4. Light Soy Sauce. 5. Green Bird Eye Chillies (chopped)
I'd invite my friends over to eat this soup with me.... except I don't have any friends. Oh well, I'll eat enough for a small group of people and hang out with my dogs instead

does dak also mean exactly? I read the title and thought it might mean "exactly one word" LOL
This was the sexiest food porn. I can’t wait to get a dinner party together to make this.
Do you support Tottenham Hotspur? I need to know
Why does your laugh sounds so much like a parody Kayne?
Boneappletea
Every thing you eat is some kind of soup. Same spices in everything. Do you not eat pieces of meat like roast or meat loaf pork chops or ham? Always chicken vegs broth rice noodles. Soy sauce fish sauce for spices. You need to eat some good southern food.
You're laughing like a stoner mate
This made my mouth water! Looks so delicious! I have to try and make this! 👍🏽
