Tucker was the unsurpassed reigning god of all news media. Every one of the 'mainstream' channels feared him yet wished they had his viewership and his talent for garnering incredible attention. It could be Murdoch trying to sail the ship to less extreme, more traditionally-conservative waters. ALSO, while Carlson was their most popular host, they saw far less ad revenue because so many advertisers refused to have their ads on during his show because they did not want to be affiliated with his extremism.

Let me state i'm not a fan of his but, i believe the celebration is misplaced & premature. He could resurrect himself as a Presidential candidate. Trump did it, so Carlson could politically capitalise his popularity & name recognition into a different incarnation.

People are comparing Tucker and Don Lemon's firings as if the 2 situations were similar. Tucker had the #1 network "news" program on TV. Don Lemon news program was so low in ratings he was moved to the morning time slot where he immediately caused internal issues with coworkers. Tucker was a reporter and political commentator for all the big networks including CNN, MSNBC and Fox, he will be back on the airwaves as soon as he wants to, All outlets want him, his ratings are unmatched (I personally didn't watch him often) - Don Lemon's only claim to fame was that he's gay and black so a double minority and therefore he is entitled to verbally abuse and insult people. (Again, I personally didn't watch him often either) - Don will have a hard time getting back on a major news outlet, he will most likely end up on youtube doing his own thing.
I was not crazy about either one of them. But in the big scheme of things, Tucker is a heavyweight and will find success wherever he decides to go next and Don is simply a liability to his employers, his co-workers and ultimately to himself. (He would be better suited doing his own show so he can act like a diva and slowly fade into obscurity as the world emerges from the trappings of woke culture which are slowly starting to fade away) People are starting to get fed up with the whole "women are always right, gays and trans should rule the worlds because they are different from us. (Examples of this..Amber heard and Bud light's Dylan Mulvaney)
