You did well to stick it out mate, yes show us your Blanks, we all have had them, i think you enjoyed the day, you had a smile on all the time, it's not just me that get's all the wet weather fishing lol, Thank you for shearing it Phil, Thank you,
Thanks 👍, it's real fishing (well it certainly has been this year 😁). The blanks make us better anglers as we are all the more determined the next time we go out.
Thanks for that. On this occasion is was a case of I could sit in the car and watch it rain all day or get out and make the best of it. I'm glad I got out, I actually enjoyed myself.
Great stuff Phil, I thoacht that was a pot o soup simmerin awa beside yea 😂 you would think aaw that rain would wash a curn worms doon the river and gaar the fish start feeding? It’s funny how a drop of rain landed on yer camera right where yer face was 😂 the joys o fishing, thanks for sharing Phil 👍
I lost count of the number of times I cleared water off the lens (not very successfully by the look of it). If anyone knows which day summer will be next year, message me👍
The weather gods were worried you might be missing Scotland....... 😀 There's not been much of a summer this year, it went staight from spring to Autumn.
I thought I'd head south for some sunshine.... may as well have stayed home 😂. I did have those lovely days on the Wye and Grand Union later that week so it was worth it in the end.
Crazy weather, but if you can get out in it and still have a good day then thats great! Is it easier to catch fish when raining? I heard they come up to the top when its raining or is that just rubbish!
Thanks Dave, there are all sorts of thoughts on when fish feed but nobody really knows. Some people say it they fish better on an overcast day but then catch a personal best on a sunny day. Who knows and that's part of the fun / challenge of fishing.
actually mate, your right to ask is that just aload of rubbish as your right! fish have swim bladders that work of air pressure, hence high pressure is when fish are in the higher water columns or indeed at the surface. when its raining...low pressure, the swim bladder deflates thus meaning fish go to the bottom. these low pressure spells can be prime bite time
Thanks for the comment, always good to have this information. Combine that with Barbel being predominately bottom feeders it should have fished better.
@@anotherangleUK your welcome my friend! yes ive never heard of a barbel being caught anywhere but the bottom to be honest. im prodominantly a carp angler. i do like barbel though
Thanks for sharing your adventures Phil, always a pleasure to watch mate
We've had some wet sessions up on the Scottish lochs but I think the Ribble was the worse weather I've fished.

Very enjoyable and you're a braver man than me to be out in that weather.

@@greggditchfield-i1e Very interesting. So its the pressure, nothing to do really with the rain hitting the water?
Is it a woodcutters stretch?
Thanks, it's the day ticket stretch at Ribchester. Church Street runs along behind the pegs, I'm not sure if it has a more 'local' name.
No Gordon, no fish. I feel I need say no more. 😂
You might have something there, but look out for the next video.... 😉
