If I may offer a scholarly analysis: 1. The central plot of the short revolves around the characters' efforts to steal a valuable treasure. These exploits are depicted in a nonsensical way usually associated with absurdism and comedy. With this in mind, it is possible that the heist is a satirical deconstruction of the thriller/crime genres as they are harnessed in modern game and movie cultures. 2. Furthermore, the "Treasure Chest of the Mayan Temple" - the story's MacGuffin, if you will - can be thought of as a priceless historical artifact with a complex but unknown history. While the likes of Indiana Jones might say "it belongs in a museum", we see the thieves have little interest in its surely breathtaking history, and are not fazed by the animated Mayan guardian statue as we might expect. In video games, we often find oddly-placed treasure chests scattered around various worlds. We rarely question the why, or the how. Whose Purple Rupee was this? Why can't I store the food items, but instead have to consume them immediately to regain health? 3. The Rats could represent nearly anything. They could remind us of quicktime events and cutscenes which render our efforts against bosses pointless from a narrative perspective. But who knows? Not us.
Well, I just wanna make sure you know what’s happening. We’re gonna get the treasure, we’re gonna get out of there, and we also have to sell zhmefjgehfsshjf...
"Look at that flock of birds over there, it reminds of my favorite movie, The Movie. Hey that's your favorite movie too, right?" "Yo, my favorite movie is Frozen, I like Elza and Anna, okay now I kill you." 10/10 dialogue.
Hi, I'm Rogert Ebert, famous and now deceased movie critic. After a series of requests and seances, I have returned from the grave and possessed this commenter in order to provide crucial input on this, the first installment of Rat Movie. I'm torn, folks. The franchise has potential. The cat police entrance was very reminiscent of cop dramas from years past, and that felt like a positive addition. The voice acting was spot on. One thing holding this film back from the blockbuster spot was the rats. Rats are the worst, most vile creatures on the planet. Imagine a rat, with it's giant yellow buck teeth, gnawing at your carcass, looking for scraps of flesh on your already stripped bones, blood dripping from its fangs and nothing but hunger and rabid spittle in its fur. What a horrid, unnatural perversion of nature. The rat intrigues me, readers. It entices me. For as much as I revile this creature, I see myself in it. I loathe it for it is me. The primal urge to consume, it grips me. Anyways, this is Roger Ebert, coming at you from the grave, thanks for reading folks.
Moral of the story; the existence of a giant rat is a universal constant that is needed in order for all of the rules to be made so the other rats can see what kind of trouble they can get themselves into, and if there can't be a giant rat around, the world blows up as the cats planned this entire time.
Well, he was just outside giving a statement to the police. That probably means he didn't go too far enough away from the bar when he fled. Perhaps he was close enough to see the rats through the windows. Either that, or he passed by the rats as they entered the restaurant.

3. The Rats could represent nearly anything. They could remind us of quicktime events and cutscenes which render our efforts against bosses pointless from a narrative perspective. But who knows? Not us.
AbstractedAristocrat I am astonished.

This has better voice acting than professional animations I've seen.
I'm especially surprised about the Australian guy, I could never possibly imagine Jerma doing an Australian accent before I watched this.
@@boxcarz It is supposed to be British.
@@boxcarz That's the voice of his friend, Welsh former RUclipsr/streamer Boo.

Maybe not the *best* last words, but definitely the most *accurate*

Im convinced that this is like a motion picture teaser of the book Jerma is writing.

"Yo, my favorite movie is Frozen, I like Elza and Anna, okay now I kill you."
10/10 dialogue.
Happy 10 Years!
I think the directors of Stranger Things took this into consideration while making season 3.
The Guardian's completely disbelieving 'What are you doing!?" make actually be my favorite Jerma line of all.
We're the rats
My personal favorite is "That would be real nice if it were true, except it isn't, you're a rat, aren't ya?"
"Now I get to be the big rat cool surprise"
I guess you died and then came back as a sloth
Wouldn't the villains being rats a good thing, it would give you a reason to hate them. Like all villains should
Yes Ebert is back! We missed you in Film Studies.
Glad we got Roger Ebert resurrected to write this review.
Moral of the story; the existence of a giant rat is a universal constant that is needed in order for all of the rules to be made so the other rats can see what kind of trouble they can get themselves into, and if there can't be a giant rat around, the world blows up as the cats planned this entire time.
There must always be a giant rat!
OBJECTION!
How did Dancing Guy know about the giant rat if he fled the scene before said rats appeared?
Dancing Guy was behind it all along.
Oh get em Nick!
Overruled.
Because... I'm fucking scared of rats ;_;
Well, he was just outside giving a statement to the police. That probably means he didn't go too far enough away from the bar when he fled. Perhaps he was close enough to see the rats through the windows. Either that, or he passed by the rats as they entered the restaurant.
*Debating the logic of THIS video*
+Jaden Igguks Yeah. You have a point, there.
There should be a petition to put this on the silver screen.
TheGrayMysterious with all the stuff they put on Adult Swim, this fits right in
its a shame they didn't add credits for all these voice actors. I would've loved to of known who played the voice of the giant rat!
