amazing thanks for showings us. My plain td-20 is starting to fade out :( I only got the balls to replace the cr2032 battery. I am scared to go deep in the module like you did. I guess if I dont find the courage, Ill have to purchase the screen and pay someone to install it if the screen keeps degrading. Atm the screen looks like yours at 1:47 Thanks for the video man. Cheers
Thanks! The only thing I will say is that if you went as far as replacing the battery you're almost half way there. Just a few more screws. But good luck with whatever you decide!
Thanx Brian, great Job mate! Gonna follow tutorial & "remember to add that condom on USB port" is a good bit of bonus advise. It's time saving & affordable, over binning. Replacing costs $$$$ for TD30/50 for a few unnecessary but cool. Cheers.
Nice work. The price reflects the availability and cost of parts and labor in our new post Covid economy. It's also a custom designed display that required reverse engineering the LCD protocol. It's just not cheap to make. Not sure why the graphic didn't display initially... Looks great though! Enjoy!
Totally understand your position on the price, as a consumer I get to complain 😏. As far as the TD20 image goes, from what I have researched the image is baked into the CMOS on the TD20 board - its almost as if the TD1220RDR needed time to load it in. I would love to hear if others have had the same issue with TD20x replacement just to verify my theory. And I'm pretty sure the nice work needs to go to you for making this!
@@TheBrister123just finished my install, and first boot the screen didn't work. 2nd boot and it worked no problem! Followed your instructions to the t and no issues. Thank you for this video
@@Aretumis Awesome! My screen failed to boot up a few times just recently. Usually restarting the unit a few times works but it is a little concerning.
Bonjour! Le seul endroit où je peux le trouver en ligne est Reverb.com. Il existe quelques magasins aux États-Unis qui proposent ce produit, mais c'est tout ce que je peux trouver.
In most cases, a new screen is not necessary. Usually the screen no longer works properly due to corrosion of the screen contacts. By thoroughly cleaning the contacts of the screen with contact cleaner, the screen will be optimal again in most cases. Do not do this cleaning yourself if you are not technically inclined, but have it done by a company that specializes in repairing musical instruments. I just followed your video, step-by-step and was able to replace the display. It all works great! Thank you!
Enjoy! It is a really nice upgrade.
Thanks for putting the effort into posting this. It definitely saved me (and will save a bunch of other people) a lot of time.
Thanks @realjoeplummer glad it helped. Rock on!

You bet! Yes, the 30/50 have nice features but mostly for the new pads. I still have old ones and they work great.

Thank you for the video, I feel pretty confident to do this on my own. I'll see how it goes this weekend.
You absolutely can. Take photos along the way, can be a big help.

Ridiculous, Roland should have issued a recall on their faulty equipment for a free fix, this type of problem should never happen with $$$ gear.
Non pas du tout 249€ avec frais d’envoi et dédouanement ect….
bjr merci pour votre video ! j'ai changé l'ecran et ca marche . jp
Je suis content que cela ait aidé !
