I concur, one of the best stage shows EVER; Maiden was the only one IMHO to out do Dio. His live presence was intense, he for a fact rocked the entire arena every single time.
Saw him on first two Dio tours and they were amazing. I'd seen him with on both Mob and HH tours with Sabbath and I while think the music was, in my opinion, better, the shows were better on his own and had much more energy.
I am 54, Ronnie’s death has hit me more all these years later then any other celebrity death. Still remember when I found out. Dio is in my god tier of bands I have seen live along with Maiden, Jinjer and Babymetal. Vastly different bands but all incredible shows.
RIP Ronnie. A small man with a gigantic voice. I was lucky enough to see him on stage with Rainbow in 1976 and 1977. This is an awesome song originally written and performed by Black Sabbath when Ronnie joined them in maybe 1979. Please check out the studio version and thank you for another beautiful reaction!
I had the honor of seeing Dio play several times, this is the heaviest version of H&H I have seen. Such a giant voice, he is so greatly missed. I cried for days when he passed. He loved his fans so much and did his very best for them in every show. I'm so glad you can appreciate his enormous talent. Thanks for this review.
Ronnie was in his 60's when he performed this song. I actually like the original version with Black Sabbath a little better. Ronnie has sung everything from 1950's Doo Wap songs to beautiful ballads with Elf and Rainbow (songs like "Rainbow Eyes"), and very heavy with Black Sabbath & his band Dio. Or even with his return to Black Sabbath with the name "Heaven & Hell" as the band name. Dig deep into his long history for a great blend of different vocal styling, truly a once in a lifetime voice. My favorite years are with Rainbow, especially his live 1977 Munich tour with songs like "Mistreated" and "Catch the Rainbow" which are my favorite from the concert or the classic "Stargazer" off the Rising Album.
we have to mention this for the High Priest of Heavy Metal Vocalist .......Ronnie (Ronald James Padavona) in this live was 63 MF years old borned 1942 well do the math.....99.99% men his age are retired, his voice is a miracle just hear a 63yo with angelic voice from hell speak to our ears into our souls
Great reaction and lovely to see you just rocking along to it. Ronnie James Dio was such a legend and am so pleased I got to see him a few times in his absolute prime
Interesting version of Dio performing the Black Sabbath classic - Ronnie James Dio (vocals)... Bassist Rudy Sarzo (who had played w/ Quiet Riot, Ozzy Osbourne, Whitesnake)... drummer Simon Wright (who had played in AC/DC)... guitarist Doug Aldrich (also played in Whitesnake, The Dead Daisies) ... and keyboardist Scott Warren.
I saw Sabbath on the Heaven & Hell tour of 1980 in Portsmouth UK & then Mob Rules at the same venue Guildhall & I listen to this album & song at least once a week xxx
Oh my God is right!!! This...people of RUclips, is why you need to subscribe to this channel. Rebeka, your facial expressions were amazing!! I'm giving this reaction and analysis a standing ovation!!! 🤘🤘🤘
Dio put on a fkn awesome concert I saw him in an outside theatre in Kansas City in 1985 great music, laser light show, good friends, good booze and bud.
I saw him November 23, 1985 indoors in Phoenix with Rough Cutt opening and then saw him exactly 6 months later on May 23, 1986 outdoors in Tempe, AZ with Accept opening. So glad I got to see him live.
Fun Fact. Dio is credited with the 🤘🤘 hand signs at rock concerts. He stated his grandmother from Italy would use it to ward off evil spirits. ~ cheers!
I think Ronnie was battling cancer in this time, and for him to perform at this level is simply amazing! he was such a cool guy, and he had a good heart. His talent is unmatched.. Bless his surviving wife.
it is just my opinion, bit for me, Dio is the best singer ever!!, dave coverdale, robert plant, ian gillian, bruce dickinson, greats of the greatest in music history, but with Dio, everything is complete different, unvealiable!
Please react to Rainbow mistreated live in Munich 1977 it's hard Rock's greatest focal performance. Originally a deep purple song sung by David Coverdale and Glenn Hughes that one deserves a reaction too. But DIO's vocal performance of this song is just magical
Ronnie stated in an interview done for the documentary Metal - A Headbangers Journey done by an Anthropologist named Sam Dunn that he had no use for the dark side. Also that the hand symbol that he uses was something that his Italian Grandmother used to keep away evil. Very interesting film.
You witnessed the man that made popular the infamous Metal Sign. I saw a video long ago here on YT and he explained that as a kid his Grandmother used take his Grandfather lunch every day at work and Ronnie would walk with her and he would see her doing the Metal Sign and asked her why and she told him that if you see someone giving you the evil eye you could use it to ward off the evil, but that you could also use it to give someone the evil eye. Black Sabbaths first singer (Ozzy Osbourne) used to raise the Peace Sign and Ronnie wanted something similar, so he used his Grandmothers sign from when he was a boy. I saw him after he joined Black Sabbath and they had released their first album with Ronnie called Heaven and Hell. Blue Oyster Cult was touring with them and it was called the now infamous Black and Blue Tour.
Nothing against Dio's solo career but you should watch Black Sabbath's version Tony Iommi and Geezer Butler and Bill Ward a very different feel on how the song is done.
Thank you for this! A sorrow I have is to have discovered Ronnie too late, after his passing, and never have gotten the chance to see him live. But his music lives and, by extension, so does he! It was Ronnie Dio that made the horns popular in metal. As he said several times in interviews, they don't symbolize the devil, but rather they are used to ward-off evil (his grandmother taught him that). For me, and for many, Ronnie James Dio is considered the ultimate metal voice. You should also know, since you like Deep Purple so much, that Ronnie actually sang Smoke on the Water with Ian Gillan, at the Royal Albert Hall. BTW, you had already reacted to Ronnie before, with the song Kill the King, by Rainbow, about a year ago.
I first seen him in 1981 with black sabbath. He has lost a little of his power in performance to be expected. But still powerful. But in his hayday his voice would vibrate you core. Let talk about that guitarist he was amazing. I love Tony iommi he inspired me to to play the guitar in the 70s. But this guitarist took it to a new lever. But still stand true to the songs original format..🤘🤘🤘
I'm going to say this... although this live performance is phenomenal and one of the best live performances I think I've ever seen of this particular song, and I love this song, but I had a chance to see Tony Iommi,Geezer Butler,Vinny Appice and of the man himself Ronnie James Dio live in concert in my hometown and that was the best concerts I believe I have ever seen and even though it was back in 2008, its like i was just there yesterday and was one of the greatest experiences in my life!! 🤘🤘
Just think he was nearing his last days at the time of this performance due to cancer taking him from us, yet could still perform at such an incredible level. RIP, Ronnie James Dio. Never forgotten and always missed.
Good job. But he is about 65 years old in this video. He still looks good and sounds great. But you really must hear his voice at 30 or 40 to truly appreciate him.
A saw that tour (and many others). Finest male rock singer ever. The only one to come close is Geoff Tate…and Queensryche were introduced to the U.K. as a support act on his 2004. So two nights running in Birmingham U.K. I saw the wo vocalists whom I rate the highest…..
Hello dear Rebeka. Yes very good song, thank you to share it with us. I am inviting you to flip an other rock, an invitation to discover the band "Jinjer", starting by Pisces (Live studio session) then Prennial (live in Wacken). Take care of you.
I have seen Dio live many times including this tour, this is my favorite Dio band line up. While Dio has had several great guitarist Doug Aldrich is the best.
Well ronnie will never be forgotten, he lives for ever. As for you my dear Luize, I hope you are safe and maybe not in Latvia, as you know war is not far away, NATO may not protect you all.
You need to listen to an 1980’s live version of this song either with Black Sabbath or Dio. His voice is shot right here and there is no comparison to Ronnie in his 60’s as you just watched and in the 80’s in his 30’s & 40’s. Night and Day. If you loved this do yourself a favor and catch an earlier version. You’ll thank me later.
Hi Rebeka, I am A music historian & A while back you said U prefer the older style music because U think all the best songs have been written & U are mainly right. Can I introduce U to 3 songs from the past, Have U come across Olivia Newton John The Banks of the Ohio.A strong story mixed with a good tune. The further back in time U go the stronger or catchier the melody. Its something U can react to.If U want to know a bit more of musical history try listening privately to Dardanella 1919, the 1st song to ever sell a million, Ben Selvin 3 min 12 sec.Its very catchy. The last one is The Laughing Policeman 1926 Charles Penrose.A masterpiece that was his party piece.A great fun record that others tried to replicate but failed.Enormousely popular & still gets played today occasionally when people want to cheer up.I wish U well.
Air Drummer Level = EXPERT
It's amazing that RONNIE JAMES DIO, EVEN, When he was in pain and dying from CANCER,that he loved his fans so much, he still performed.
DIO ENOUGH SAID LEGEND
Seeing him live in the early 80’s was unforgettable….Truly the Man from the Silver Mountain 🤘🤘
I love when people recognize the R&B/blues runs Dio does like you did in 1:25
I am 54, Ronnie’s death has hit me more all these years later then any other celebrity death. Still remember when I found out. Dio is in my god tier of bands I have seen live along with Maiden, Jinjer and Babymetal. Vastly different bands but all incredible shows.

R.I.P RONNIE, the best rock voice ever, listen to Bible Black, another classic Ronnie performance.
I was lucky enough to see Him in 79 in Germany when He was fronting for Black Sabbath.
I swear He looked 6 ft tall on that stage.
All that while fighting cancer!! LOVE you brother you are sorely missed!!!
Love Dio! RIHP. You are missed. ✌️❤️
I had the honor of seeing Dio play several times, this is the heaviest version of H&H I have seen. Such a giant voice, he is so greatly missed. I cried for days when he passed. Munich 1977 "Catch The Rainbow" has got to be one of the best performances by both, Dio and Blackmore.
I love DIO so much I'm glad you referred to his entire career most people just don't
@@jeremybrown7075 It's beyond impressive what he accomplished during his life time.
Black Sabbath's Heaven and Hell. This album was loaded. "Die Young" is a masterpiece. 🎸
great song choice to react Rebeka
Dont talk to strangers! Its another great one from him
The best voice ever ....
I have loved Ronnie since he was a young guy, The little man can sing and is was so cool and down to earth! RIP my friend miss you.
I wish that Rebeka listened and reacted to RJD's singing in late 50's and early 60's
This is likely the heaviest version of Heaven and Hell.
Loved this one when this album came out. I turned 18 yrs in 1980. You should watch the live 1980 version.
Agree! Early Dio is amazing. Ronnie's voice then was insane
My Self also turned 18 January 20th of 19 eighthe what month for you turning 18
Auto spell I also turned 18 Jan 20th 1980 what month did you turn 18 that year?
Thank you for the reaction!!! Must find STARGAZER! WHEN Ronnie was with Rainbow. It will blow your mind. Circ. 77'
Some of us born in 60s have listened to Dio since mid 70s when he was in Richie Blackmores Rainbow 😈🥳❤️🇧🇻
Hai una voce bellissima rebcis ....e sei bellissima ti amo rebekka 💘
we have to mention this for the High Priest of Heavy Metal Vocalist .......Ronnie (Ronald James Padavona) in this live was 63 MF years old borned 1942 well do the math.....99.99% men his age are retired, his voice is a miracle just hear a 63yo with angelic voice from hell speak to our ears into our souls

Dio RULES!!!🤘🤘
Ronnie's James DIOis my rock and roll Messiah I miss him..
To me he didn't just sing songs he preached gospel..
Incredible song and a great reaction
Dio was 1 of 1... we were so damn lucky to have him in Rainbow and Sabbath
Interesting version of Dio performing the Black Sabbath classic - Ronnie James Dio (vocals)... Bassist Rudy Sarzo (who had played w/ Quiet Riot, Ozzy Osbourne, Whitesnake)... drummer Simon Wright (who had played in AC/DC)... guitarist Doug Aldrich (also played in Whitesnake, The Dead Daisies) ... and keyboardist Scott Warren.
No wonder it sounds so good.
Simon Wright must have thought he'd been reborn after leaving AC/DC and being told he could play something other 4 to the floor. 😂✌🇬🇧
Until I watched this I forgot about Doug Aldrich playing with Dio
thanks for the video Rebeka!😊👌
RJD - the KING of heavy metal
Miss him every day.
It is so lovely that you clapped for the artists!
My first time seeing you but I loved watching you feel it and not just hear it. Keep up the good work.
R.I.P. Ronnie, we miss you so, so much!
Well done and thanx! Keep teaching the younger generation about music. Real music.
Dio put on a fkn awesome concert I saw him in an outside theatre in Kansas City in 1985 great music, laser light show, good friends, good booze and bud.

I bought Heaven Hell spring of 1980, life was never the same after.. IF IT'S TOO LOUD, YOU'RE TOO OLD !!!
RJD is in the pantheon of Rock Gods. We lost him way too soon. His voice was the song of my childhood.
One day you will do Mistreated or Catch the Rainbow form Rainbow Live in Munich 1977 and get some of Ronnie when he was at his best and purest
Agree 100%
Ronnie was yet to be diagnosed with cancer in 2005. He was diagnosed in late 2009 and passed away in May, 2010. R.I.P. to The King of Metal 🤘🏼
Also, Ronnie was actually divorced from Wendy many years at the time of his death, although she remained his manager after they split.
it is just my opinion, bit for me, Dio is the best singer ever!!, dave coverdale, robert plant, ian gillian, bruce dickinson, greats of the greatest in music history, but with Dio, everything is complete different, unvealiable!
Had the pleasure of sabbath in the 80's , Dio in the mid 90's in Vegas!! Great reactions Rebekah 😊
Ronnie was a legend, the greatest Metal singer who ever lived 🤘
Please react to Rainbow mistreated live in Munich 1977 it's hard Rock's greatest focal performance. Originally a deep purple song sung by David Coverdale and Glenn Hughes that one deserves a reaction too. But DIO's vocal performance of this song is just magical
I saw him with sabbath and as a solo artist, such an incredible voice!!
I love your facial reactions during this video!🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Dio is a legend!! RIP RJD! 🤘
This is one of my very favorite performances of this song DIO was the best I love your reaction
RIP RJD - but honey. If you liked this go back 25 years and hear that voice young and strong.
React to Dio - The Last in Line [Live at The Spectrum 1984] please!! one of Dios greatest performances
Ronnie stated in an interview done for the documentary Metal - A Headbangers Journey done by an Anthropologist named Sam Dunn that he had no use for the dark side. Also that the hand symbol that he uses was something that his Italian Grandmother used to keep away evil. Very interesting film.
🤯🤯🤯 Another Awesome reaction! It's cool how the music flows through you and your reactions are spot on!! \m/

Gracias por hacer la reacción a diooooo 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏✌😑✌

Dio👌 he did it well and l can understand what he's singing👌
The tone is perfection. Never a note wrong. Super sad I never got to see him live. Such a massive loss.
Dio is an incredible singer and in my opinion can only be matched by Bruce Dickinson as they both have a very similar tones
sorry, unmatched in my opinion.
GREAT REACTION HUN!!!!!!

U probably know this already, but "rock and roll" horns Dio used here, which is is now obviously ubiquitous, Dio invented (got from his grandmother).

Fortunatelly I was able to see Dio live at Porto Alegre around this same time (+-2005)
I remember exactly where I was sitting and drinking when I heard he passed. Only other person I can remember that with is Randy Rhodes. Metal gods.
Awesome album yeah, seen Dio by himself awesome cool show 🤘😎🤘🥁🎤🎸🎸
Minor point but this is not Dio its Black Sabbath's song - genius as Dio was.
Dance like no one is watching girl! Awesome to see you so into this beautiful music

This song is full of quotables and philosophical questions
Hello dear Rebeka. Yes very good song, thank you to share it with us.

RJ Dio is the person who popularized the 🤘
Thank you
Огромный голос маленького человека!Супер!
Important to say...Dio was sick on this tour, he had the flu. And yet singing like that.
Recommendation, "HOLY DIVER" " DON'T TALK TO STRANGERS" & " STAND UP & SHOUT"
Great Stankface, Rebekah! 🤟🤣❤😆❤
Gracias👏👏👏👏👏👏
Well ronnie will never be forgotten, he lives for ever. As for you my dear Luize, I hope you are safe and maybe not in Latvia, as you know war is not far away, NATO may not protect you all.
5' 3'' (1.60m) tall, but a GIANT in music history.....
And to think this was probably during the down side of his career and he was still belting it out.
nice one👏👏👏👏
You need to listen to an 1980’s live version of this song either with Black Sabbath or Dio. His voice is shot right here and there is no comparison to Ronnie in his 60’s as you just watched and in the 80’s in his 30’s & 40’s. Night and Day. If you loved this do yourself a favor and catch an earlier version. You’ll thank me later.
If you are going down the Dio rabbit while start with Stargazer when he was with Rainbow.. the live London song to do imo is Don't talk to strangers.
