I think people are missing the point and that's that Lois isn't meant to be wholly in the right here. Clark broke his promise to be honest to her but she was also unempathetic to his reasons why. Lois: *talks about still working through some unresolved childhood issues about close ones keeping secrets from her one episode ago* Online nerds: "I'll pretend I didn't see that. you insane overreacting bitch I hate you!"
The problem is that the show seems to think Lois is right about this. I give the show massive props for letting Lois being in the wrong and her realizing she's in the wrong at other points. In episode 1, Lois lies to Clark, she realizes she took advantage of him, and she apologizes. In episode 8, she lets what she knows about the evil supermen get to her head, she doubts Clark and accidently plays in his insecurities about being normal, she feels guilty later, not just because she was wrong to doubt him and that she insensitive, but also because she might not get the chance to take it back. Episode 5 however seem to vindicate her reaction to the truth by Clark being the one to do all the apologizing.
Lois has always done this. I think the last time, Superman was so fast he saved her in uniform, then quickly changed back and tricked her again. But this has always been a Superman thing.
Amber hated that Mark wasn't spending enough time with her while he was out saving people, and felt entitled to his secret just because. She was mad at Mark for saving people and expressed no sympathy or concern for his safety. Lois hated that Clark kept lying even when she made it clear to him she knows he was lying, she expressed concern for Clark's safety, not concern over how much time they are spending together. She wasn't mad he was saving people, she simply hates being lied to or someone not being upfront with her, like her father did with her mother's health. Lois is not Amber. Edit: Also, Lois jumping off a building is something she has always done since the comics and even the movies.
Exactly. Honestly i was super understanding of Amber until she said that she knew for weeks and kept playing those petty ass mind games. I can definitely understand Lois’ reason for being kept in the dark as well, as that’s what her father did like you mentioned. And yeah, Lois has done some crazy shit before this version. If i remember correctly, she straight up shot Clark one time.
Exactly. I mean if you watch the clip it shows that Lois is concerned about Clark getting injured and than he brushes it off like it's nothing. And that's the point where she snaps at him for not telling him the truth. This is somewhat of a callback to the previous episode where she mentioned that her father never told her how sick her mother was. In this instance I believe he reminds her of her father and that's the reason why she gets mad.
Also that Lois being a hypocrite (lying to others while hating others lying to her) is considered an actual flaw. Amber brushing off her boyfriend nearly dying is just her being a toxic cunt.
I have one big problem with how it goes down in My Adventures with Superman, and that is that Lois, from what I've seen (I've only seen clips so far), never apologizes to Clark. This show is so close to being the one that does it right. Invincible as a show is great, but Amber is fucking horrible because she cuts Mark no slack even when he had to change into costume to save his best friend, to the point she pretends to be mad at him for a completely different reason. I don't believe Amber ever apologizes, but even if she did, it was for the wrong reason. Masters of the Universe Revelation did the same thing. Teela is so mad at Adam for keep his secret that she verbally abuses Adam's morning parents, her own father, and later Adam's ghost despite him having saved the entire world by sacrificing himself. She never gives Adam or Duncan (her father) the chance to explain themselves and even tries to walk out of the mission to save the entire universe. She never tells Adam or Duncan I'm sorry and when she tries to apologize to Adam's dad, he says that she was right to be angry. Lois by contrast is much fairer. She doesn't take her angry out on anyone else, she puts her feelings aside to help Jimmy, she shows concern at what he is going through, and her insecurity at the possibility of Clark lying about having feelings for her, while unfair to Clark, makes sense. But they still skipped the most important part. Had Lois simply said "Clark, I'm sorry for doubting you and for being so hard on you" it would be fine, but she doesn't (as far I've seen, please correct me if I am wrong, as this is the reason I am so hesitant to watch the show). As it stands, while Lois is ten times better than Amber or Teela, they still narrowly missed the mark.
Oh 100% agreed. Amber is ALSO WAAAAY BETTER in the comics. I don't understand why they decided to make Amber so toxic and insufferable in the show. Like her anger for the secret is understandable but everything after that is unwarranted and just annoys me.
Remember: She knew all along XD that was what ruined Amber, at least before that point she was justified because "she doesn't know that Mark is Invincible" but once she knows, she has no reason to be mad. Hell in the comic Mark's identity got leaked and things get bad...FAST, but by then Amber is out of the picture.
@@derokdeathaxe6984 Would've made sense if she thought Mark was going to cheat on her with Eve. They just did it to add unnecessary drama that doesn't add anything to the characters other than toxic, annoying traits.
@nickv1212 I agree, Amber in the comics made sense and her reaction afterwards was completely fine and her story was just infinitely better than what they did in the show
Amber would have been fine if she didn't know Mark's secret. Imagine the scene goes like this: Mark confesses his secret to Amber, but she doesn't forgive. Instead she calls him out for letting her believe he was a flake and for making promises he knew he couldn't keep. She still gets to be mad, but it is more justified and she never threw unwarranted abuse his way by pretending not to know. But no, they wanted have their cake and eat it too.

The reason Lois works, and Amber doesn't is because of the conflicts presented. Neither Lois nor Clark is in the wrong or right, at least not 100% and since it is just the two of them, who you side with depends. Plus, in Lôis' defense Clark's attempts to further hide his identity from her while she was baiting out of him were lousy, almost to the point where someone would be angry for someone for trying to make them feel stupid while lying about it. There is also that possibility they can fix their communication with one another, plus it actually works within Lôis' flaws as a character. With Amber, she basically gaslit Mark into thinking he's awful, even though she had known for some time he was Invincible, but didn't bother to listen or care about his side of the story, and unlike Lois and Clark, which were isolated debated between the two EVERYONE just take Amber's side including people who should already know Mark and why he did, while Mark was also not perfect, much like Clark, the show NEVER attempts to play a "both sides could be right or wrong" they just put the blame on Mark entirely. You can't say one side is completely wrong or completely right if both sides have flaws to point out, which in Amber's case were NEVER taken into account on her part.
It's funny how everything you said amber did, lois actually did. I could get it since it took her jumping off of a building, but I honestly did not watch the show, how long did they know each other, because Amber, and Mark only knew each other for a few months, if Lois was a childhood friend or at least knew him for a year that’s understandable, if not, then she’s a moron or just selfish for thinking she has the right to know his biggest secret that could get everybody close to Clark hurt or killed.
@@rayshawnwilliams5673 the episode is primarily them getting closer as romantic partners. The last couple of episodes were also Lois sharing about how her father being a chronic liar affected her. Then Lois outright asks is he’s Superman and Clark lies which causes the whole thing. I was with her right up until she got on that ledge. It went from understandable frustration with a partner keeping an important secret relevant to your job to UNHINGED behavior. Who jumps off a building to prove a point???
In the pilot Clark called her for lying to him and they promised to be honest with each other, so the repeated lies as Superman are a broken promise as well as a breach of trust. She was also worried that if he'd lied about that, he might also have been faking romantic feelings to use her as a cover or throw her off.
I understand that Amber is angry at mark for not telling her overall she knew mark was a superhero for weeks and yet still pissed at him for not telling about it. Which to me, that’s not how it works. The reason Mark didn’t tell Amber because you never know what dangers lie ahead. So in other words, Amber is an idiot . The reason I’m not complain about Lois because she just find out Clark is Superman on that moment. Lois did admit she’s in the wrong. However Amber didn’t admit to anything. She still think that mark should apologize to her for keeping this secret even though she’s aware of it.
Correct me if I’m wrong… but isn’t Lois a main character in most Superman stories? At least from what I seen, amber isnt. They don’t flesh out all supporting characters. Some are just made to push the narrative forward. Not saying she wasn’t written poorly, I’m just saying it’s much easier to write Lois good because all of the Superman material to look back to AND because she’s a main character. Most ppl don’t notice how often supporting characters decisions don’t make sense. This is just one of those cases where ppl notice. Maybe this will bring more attention to it. Overall I just don’t think the characters have different purpose in the story that why Lois is more fleshed out.
Main difference is that lois got enough budget and love not to be a png with a moving mouth. While amber is a 1 dimensional, race swapped dud who exists solely to give mark(a genuine manchild) some illusion of a character depth and conflict. She was not good in comics either.
To be fair, Lois is also race-swapped to. Now being Asian. and yeah Invincible’s animation 100% needs more funding. It fuckin pisses me off having to wait literal YEARS just for still frames and moments where they obviously saved the budget for. Which aren’t too many. “To give viewers time build up suspense and allow viewers to process what they just say” my ass. In season 2, i do believe Amber does improve and looking back now, both Mark and Amber kind of did this to themselves. He shouldn’t be having a girlfriend who can’t 100% accept his superhero activities, and she shouldn’t be so worked up over his obvious responsibility. Them breaking up was for the best. As for your last comment, I still gotta read Invincible for that.

she gave mark 4 times to keep his word then broke up with him and took him back after which he then lied again on the college trip.
lois
she lied so much I keep forgetting which episode goes with which lie and bullshi she did.
also they had episode 1 and 2 into an hour long show so it has 8 or 9 episodes depending on how it is counted.
Let's go over what lois did.
episode 1, lying to the boss twice, stealing, lying both him and Jimmy, she promised no more secrets and that was a lie.
episode 2, which was the first next day, lying to them again, stealing, and gas lit him.
episode 3, more lying, stealing their badges, and said superman is lying when he wasn't episode 4, more lying again, not doing her job as she said she would. this is when she told him about her dad hating aliens and put together he was superman.
episode 5, lying wow she lied so much, running all over town after him, stealing the radio from her job which she lost that radio which is Grand Theft because it could easily cost over 1000, ran all over the city after him, handcuffed herself to him in the middle of a robbery, jumped off a building.
episode 6 she never apologized for anything happened in the last 5 episodes and this one. gaslit him into thinking what happened with Jimmy was because of what he did.
episode 7 she only apologized for being kidnapped which she had no control over.
episode 8, they were barely together so she could not do much lying... oh wait, she lied to the guest reporter.
lois is the worst.
You really do need to read invincible, before S2 comes out, damn, bruh
For real This youtuber lost my respect
I know bruh, i heard there’s specific changes made for the show and it’s drawn by one of my favorite artists
The difference between high functioning ASD and low functioning BPD.
The way they Write Lois is Much Better than Amber.
How is lois who would be in jail for 20 to 40 years better then Amber who only asked mark to keep his word
This whole entire thing about Lois being the new Amber is just all of us simply overreacting
Honestly yeah
Yes because lois is the worst
I still feel she's the new amber 😂
Black or white it doesn't matter, yes it might be a Lil more head movement, or finger SNAPPING in your face with different races but at end of the day it all comes down to a woman in her feelings, in the words of Adrian (Rocky balboa) YOU CAN WIN!!! 😂
And of course within an episode Lois explained she was also afraid that Clark's feelings for her were just part of his disguise and they talk things out in a healthy way.
I don't think yelling at him and gaslighting him and blaming him for missing the trip with jimmy and for jimmy's kidnapping is a healthy way.
Pourquoi vous faites plus les vidéos de 10 minutes où vous faites les sauvetages ? Dans les fermes, zoos ou appartement?
They're not
Yes they are *runs away*
its not even close lol how do people compare
yes because Amber is just far better than lois and it is not even close.
One's r34 material. That is all
Lois >>> Amber
In fact it's an insult to even compare Lois to Amber, being the latter being inferior in character.
Amber is better then lois and it's not even close
lets go over what both of them did.
Amber
after over 6 months a dating and being in a relationship, Amber said she put it together a few weeks ago after mark lied to her 4 times after he said he wouldn't.
after Mark was taking over a minute to do anything then disappearing without saying anything then not save them as he lost that fight and they killed yourselves then the first, second, and third thing he did after coming back is lying, lying, and lying.

she didnt want honesty though, she wanted him to submit to her. It was powerplay.
I could get it since it took her jumping off of a building, but I honestly did not watch the show, how long did they know each other, because Amber, and Mark only knew each other for a few months, if Lois was a childhood friend or at least knew him for a year that’s understandable, if not, then she’s a moron or just selfish for thinking she has the right to know his biggest secret that could get everybody close to Clark hurt or killed.
right
@@rayshawnwilliams5673 the episode is primarily them getting closer as romantic partners.
@@Aloof_Fish Who does? Clearly someone who must be locked in Arkham
In the pilot Clark called her for lying to him and they promised to be honest with each other, so the repeated lies as Superman are a broken promise as well as a breach of trust. She was also worried that if he'd lied about that, he might also have been faking romantic feelings to use her as a cover or throw her off.
@@nomisunrider6472 ok
Ladies! Ladies! Ladies!
You're both...
You're both equally terrible, just in different ways.
true.
